A very belated good morning all from a grey damp cold dreich Angus coast where it's not even slightly breezy - just hingin' as is my washing!
Sorry, I forgot to post earlier! I got caught up with Dancing GD's doings - a successful show in Inverness followed by a drive through the night so that she and her friend could catch a coach this morning to a gig in Manchester! Oh to be young again and have all that energy. As it is I'm totally exhausted just hearing about it!!
Glad to hear things are still moving forward towards next week's op Mick - soon be over. And so glad your offer has been accepted grandmattie. What a clever DD you have "Grandmabatty* - that cake is every little boy's dream. Lovely to see you back mizuna (aka alizarin)
Now I'm off (as probably nobody will be reading the end of today's posts anyway 😉) and make use of what little energy I have left after experiencing DDG's derring do.
Have the best day you can everybody x

Mizuna, lovely to see you posting.

I haven't been able to get out in the garden (I'm itching to do so), but I can just see the beginnings of new growth from the window!
The pears were actually quite sweet.

Dusty, what a fright you must have had. Hopefully the doctors will get to the bottom of things.

Taichinan, I come back later to read the posts. I have nothing better to do! 😂
Keep on posting!

Oh Dusty how awful for you and your DH, hoping that whatever the cause it’s soon treated and he’s feeling much better soon. Good that you’ve had family with you these last few days
Hi 👋 to Mizuna and welcome back, you’ve been missed!

Greyduster Sun 19-Feb-23 11:19:37

That’s scary, Dusty. A similar thing happened to a friend of mine recently, for no apparent reason. She was three days before she could walk. They have no idea what caused it but she’s fine now.
Found the stick hiding in the boot of the car. I don’t remember putting it there! Much relief!

Baggs Sun 19-Feb-23 11:20:20

Good (late) morning from a dreich Boggy Brae. Not that that bothers the deer that sauntered through the garden earlier. The bullfinches are back plus a woodpecker and the chaffinches chatter chatter non-stop.

It seems my feeling of unease about btDD was something after all. Plans were in place for me to go down and see her and her family over next weekend. Yesterday she asked if it would be alright (alright?!?!) for her to come back to Boggy Brae with me for a few days. I imagine she needs talk-to-mum time. I would in her place. Other Granny and I will do a driving relay to get her back to Derbyshire in due course. OG will sort the boys out while DD is away from home.

Cake didn't get made yesterday but I've just concocted one with some dates, bananas and Brazil nuts. A slab of solid cake a day keeps me on an even keel.

Good day wishes to all

Beautiful walking-stick, Grey! No wonder you'd be devastated if it got lost!

Kalu Sun 19-Feb-23 11:27:34

I love what you have done with your garden wall Mizuna you have sparked my interest to be on the lookout for a similar effect of pieces to hang in the garden.

What a frightening experience for both of you Dusty. Best wishes to your DH for a positive outcome.

An early afternoon good morning from a beautifully sunny hilltop in Wiltshire 🌞
I have cleaned the house from top to bottom (DH has taken DDog on a hike so peace reigneth at the moment!)
Third load of washing on, dinner’s in the oven, neighbours are putting up a new fence and I’m just waiting for the potatoes to cook 😊
That’s a lovely walking stick Greyduster!
Oh dear Dusty, I hope your DH is better quickly.
I hope you all have time to enjoy the sunshine ☀️ x

Mizuna Sun 19-Feb-23 12:45:48

Kalu, my patio has a very high granite wall so I can't see the sky from my window. The mirrors are so I can see what's happening above.

Kalu Sun 19-Feb-23 14:40:03

That’s ingenious Mizuna.
That’s a particularly good looking stick Grey. Relief that you found it
As if you would say, sorry it doesn’t suit dear Baggs. Heartfelt good wishes to you and your darling girl.

Urmstongran Sun 19-Feb-23 21:24:46

Another here who often pops back to read any really late good morning posts at the end of the day Taichinan!

Welcome back MellowYellow/Alzarin now Mizuna.
If I remember correctly you live in St Ives?

Mizuna Sun 19-Feb-23 21:34:45

Ooh, I wish, Urmstongran! St Ives is one of my very favourite places but alas I don't live there.

Good morning to you all.

I’m pleased to say my kumquat marmalade turned out really well but I only got 3 jam jars out of 4 packs of (reduced in price) fruit. Last year I made some from a tree which had been given to me as a gift which then promptly died a month later.

We have childcare on Mondays (school pickup for DGD3) and we have her brother all day Tuesdays. We went for a walk for the best part of a mile without a pushchair. He’s such a good walker at 22 months.

No plans for today except a drive to the M&S food hall 8 miles away to collect a parcel and pick up a few food items.

Wishing everyone a good day and hope Mick’s operation goes well. I believe it’s tomorrow if I recall. Hope you start to feel better soon Mary.
