I had a horrible upbringing, as a result I’m not good if I don’t have some control.

I don’t think my husband understands this strange side of me.

I have made him promise in the past to never try and surprise me so this is his first attempt!

I’m not keen on surprises either and like you prefer to know what’s happening. My old boy gets presents either absolutely spot on or just disastrous, so if I were in your shoes I’d be more worried. than excited! He booked a surprise cruise for my 60th, I said what bit of “I never, ever want to go on a cruise” did you manage not to hear in the last 40 years?” In fairness we went and I really enjoyed the Norwegian Fiords but cruising still isn’t for me!!

My children booked me a surprise holiday for my seventieth birthday- all very hush hush, just told take your passport and pack clothes for a warm and sunny break. The day before, I bumped into my daughter's inlaws who said " ooh lucky you, going to S...we've always wanted to go there..".
