Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry and pleasant start here in brackley on this bank holiday Monday morning.
Apart from some household chores and hopefully my light done in the bathroom today .
A quiet day of watching cycling on TV ,and maybe take a walk.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a cloudy but dry part of La Sarthe.

After a showery day yesterday, it brightened up in the evening so we enjoyed some wine on the terrace. Both of us are still coughing but have benefited from a good night's sleep. Today is a Bank Holiday here to commemorate VE Day. We hope to manage a visit to our local supermarket; since arriving we’ve lived on whatever the freezer afforded.

Happy Bank Holiday, wherever you are! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Good morning Mick, a dry start here too, in Wiltshire.
DD’s going home today, it’s been a busy weekend with one thing and another!
Looking forward to getting the house straightened out and doing some watercolour painting.
Enjoy your week x

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. We are promised wall-to-wall rain.
Glad you both had a reasonable night, Ash.
Yesterday panned out as I expected; needing courage and mixing. At the tea, I only spoke to women with perfect offspring, genius GC and GGC. The warden only spoke to me to reproach me for not being in when she called “several times”.
Today, I’m expecting the family to lunch; soup and baguettes. The DGDs are incredibly fussy eaters. I refuse to make separate meals for them.
We are supposed to go to bluebell woods afterwards, but… we’ll see; I might opt out as I get terribly cold when wet.
Have a great bank holiday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning all from my home town of Dublin.

I cannot tell you how much I’ve enjoyed this last couple of days. I’ve spent time with aunts, uncles and cousins, there’s been lots of reminiscing and we have caught up on all the family news. I attended Mass yesterday morning in what was my family’s parish church, my parents and two aunts were married there. It is the Dublin University Church, I’ve attached a photo, the front is squished between two buildings so it’s kind of hidden away.

Afterwards we spent some time exploring the old haunts before meeting more cousins.

DD and I have today to ourselves and haven’t quite decided what we will do, but will enjoy our time together.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning, it is raining in s somerset and will be raining and dull all day

It has been a glorious happy weekend and the concert rounded it off for me, back to normal now. I met someone at the tea party and now have a new local group to attend two afternoon a month

Gm I hope you don`t get `smothered`, let them see the feisty independent person you are and start as you mean to go on.

My hairdresser is working today so a cut this morning and then a free day for pottering

a good day to everyone

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 11°C.
I am shattered this morning, DH has coughed non stop all night. Strangely, he is well enough to golf, whereas I'm fit for nothing. 😉

Baubles, what a lovely, upbeat post. I was quite envious (in a nice way!) reading your post. I do love Dublin.
GM, I thought all of us had perfect offspring, genius GC and GGC. 😁

Yesterday, I managed to mess up my church admin. I was trying to set up a parish group email account, within my Diocesan email account. I some how managed to include the whole Diocese, (including the Bishop). 😱 blush I got myself into such a fangle and it didn't help, when I realised I had forgotten the time, so dinner was very late!
All sorted now, but a very steep learning curve.

I did manage a fair bit in the garden ( good for my soul) and chatted with some neighbours.
At one point, I was down on my knees at the bottom of the garden, when I realised I couldn"t get back up. DH was watching the football and didn't hear my call for help, so I had to crawl the length of the garden to find something to help pull myself up. Old age is a terrible affliction! 🤭

We are off for a break tomorrow. DH and SIL are going today and coming first thing to collect all the food, as they are going today.
We always like to give them time to themselves and of course the golf takes priority.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans! Ash, I hope the supermarket is open!

Good morning all from a slightly overcast North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on the agenda today so we might go for a run in car with a stop for lunch if it isn't too busy.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 08-May-23 07:18:41

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We had a lovely time in Kew yesterday. A picnic in Kew Gardens to celebrate our granddaughter’s seventh birthday. Embarrassingly, I had to be helped up each time I wanted to get up from sitting on the groundsad My knees were not at their best. Today I will be doing a click and collect from Waitrose (a new black cardigan) and lunch. If the rain holds off OH will be playing golf croquet with the U3A. If not, he will buy grass seed for a patch of the back garden. GM I have a very old friend whose children are perfect and can do no wrong, even though one of them is about to embark on their third divorce..: Have a good day everyone .

Pittcity Mon 08-May-23 07:19:09

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It was hot and sunny for our street party yesterday and I got a bit of sunburn on my arms.
A few degrees cooler today but no rain forecast until later. DH and DGS1 have gone fishing today. Colchester has a full week of free organised guided walks (Jane's Walks) and I am going to join one this morning. I'll wear long sleeves and suncream.
Love to all 🦩 x

Laundry not lunch!

Foxygloves Mon 08-May-23 07:21:08

Good morning all.
Long full post about what a wonderful day yesterday turned out to be - family, wall to wall sun, all day in the garden, Coronation Chicken, champagne, coronation Colin the Caterpillar cake for tea, etc et etc and the whole blooming lot disappeared!
So I can take a hint and shut up!
Wishing you all a lovely BH Monday .

Gingster Mon 08-May-23 07:21:53

Good morning all. It’s bright at the moment but forecast for rain this afternoon. Yesterday was hot and sunny as we sat in DS1’s garden for afternoon tea.

I’ll phone my db later to see if they’re in today and pop over for coffee as we haven’t seen them in a while.

Have a nice break-away Marydoll.
Glad you’re enjoying you family time in Dublin, Baubles. It’s a great city.

Hope everyone has a ‘good’ day.

cornergran Mon 08-May-23 07:35:10

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset.

Sun cream? Not here today pittcity, just slightly envy.

A walk and some catching up for me yesterday. After some (almost muffled) words were said some skirting parted from the wall. Quite a lot must be removed before replacement flooring is fitted from Thursday. Oh why did we think this was a good idea?

It seems I’m another year older today. Celebrated early with the family last week, lots of treats. We’re out for a breakfast, no idea what else, the weather isn’t cooperating. Maybe a garden centre, Mr C will insist on something.

It will get better grandmattie, our neighbours are the exact opposite. Delight in telling us how imperfect their families are. Sounds a wonderful family time baubles. Same for me on the beach last week ladylfl, much to the amusement of our Littlest. Enjoy your break marydoll, well deserved.

Tea has just arrived, cards to open so I’ll wish you all the best day it can be.

dragonfly46 Mon 08-May-23 07:39:18

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

Not much on today after a hectic weekend just dog walking.
Now they have told you all about their perfect DC etc GM maybe your neighbours will become more tolerable. I have often become good friends with people who made an initial bad impression. I hope so.

Wishing everyone a good day.

brook2704 Mon 08-May-23 07:39:26

Good morning everyone from a lovely hotel in the Aberdeenshire countryside, we’re enjoying a night away to recharge the batteries and have a change of scenery.
Sounds like you’re having a really lovely family time baubles enjoy your break away and you too marydoll
We had a lovely day yesterday, we stopped off at Castle Fraser and enjoyed a good look around the Castle and grounds. Today it’s forecast to be wet so we’ll have a leisurely breakfast then travel home gradually, stopping en route at a couple other places too
Wine on the terrace sounds perfect Ashcombe hope it’s a frequent event 🍷
Hoping everyone enjoys BH Monday and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

ginny Mon 08-May-23 07:42:27

Good morning everyone.
It’s a bit overcast but hopefully we will get the gardening done today which we planned to do yesterday.
It was such a lovely day weather wise and DD2 asked if we would like to meet up for tea which sounded much more fun.
DD3 and family had also made an impromptu visit while they were out for a bike ride in the morning.
Kind thoughts for anyone who is poorly and safe journeys to those on the move. Wishing all a pleasant day with a smile along the way.

Marydoll Mon 08-May-23 07:44:54

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. We have a lot of rain forecast later.

Happy birthday Cornergran🎂

We have had a very quiet weekend just the two of us but I loved the coronation while DH did the garden and last night we both enjoyed the concert. It was spectacular in every way.

Today I am taking mum back to her caravan for two weeks and taking my Uncle his fortnightly shop.

Grandmabatty I hope you are feeling better today you really are going through it at the moment. Hope you see a Dr soon💐

Have a lovely bank holiday Monday 🌻🌻

harrigran Mon 08-May-23 07:49:51

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was a lovely day spent with DD and SIL. Our lunch at a Bistro was good, I had roast pork with crackling and marshmallow pavlova with fresh berries.
DD has to return to Brussels in the morning so she gave me my birthday gifts early, one of the gifts was a Lang Lang CD, music from Disney films.
After a light supper we sat down to watch the concert, it was entertaining but a couple of singers had seen better days.
Today is a rest day for me because I have another music concert tomorrow.
Have a good bank holiday.

Mizuna Mon 08-May-23 07:50:09

Raining here in Cornwall, but feels nice and fresh. Sorry I've been so absent; looking at my phone screen for very long is setting off migraines, but I have missed being here! Today my son is bringing his spare tadpoles to my allotment pond, after which I'll be concreting a planter at home. (My pear tree is fruiting Marydoll, and one apple is flowering but the other one has no sign of flowers yet.)

multicolourswapshop Mon 08-May-23 07:51:08

Good morning everyone from a very wet start to the morning. here on the east coast of Fife it’s expected to rain all day but I’m just pleased to be going out to the shops today looking for a new living room rug to compliment my move putting my bedroom back into its original state of play.

Thinking of those, who like me who are recently bereaved I do hope you’re as supported as I am with loyal friends and family.

monk08 Mon 08-May-23 07:53:00

Good morning all from a drizzly Black country it's here for the day I think.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and much was achieved in and around the house. DH had a good days fishing 2nd in his section and 6th overall, he did catch a pike but their rules do not allow them to weigh them in, so it was kept in another net until after the contest to stop it bothering the smaller fish.
No plans today will take it as it comes.
Happy birthday Cornergran 🎂🍷💐 enjoy your day.
Enjoy the bank holiday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
