For DM and Boris haters he is going to be writing a weekly column in the DM!

Fleurpepper Fri 16-Jun-23 14:57:19

Says is all, and many here will continue to buy it!

maddyone Fri 16-Jun-23 15:01:46

I wonder what he’ll write about?
And whilst I don’t buy it, I can think of no reason why others might not if they want to fleurpepper. It’s actually nothing to do with you what others read and no need for disparaging comments. S

Quite, maddy. Each to their own.

Why so patronising and dismissive ? 🧐🧐🧐🧐

Kandinsky Fri 16-Jun-23 15:04:49

Crikey, he wasn’t out of work for long was he grin
Can’t wait to read his column!

pascal30 Fri 16-Jun-23 15:08:25

I always thought he was a better journalist than a politician..

westendgirl Fri 16-Jun-23 15:09:29

I wonder if the Mail will do what they did at the Times when they found out his column was based on untruths .Basically he was sacked for lying. Will the Mail do that ?

Dottynan Fri 16-Jun-23 15:13:36

I might just start buying the mail on Saturday

Riverwalk Fri 16-Jun-23 15:16:45

A marriage made in heaven.

He's out to make trouble for Sunak - the Tories will be knocking lumps out of each other for the foreseeable future.

🍿

Blossoming Fri 16-Jun-23 15:16:48

Shouldn’t that say “For Boris Lovers”? People who hate Johnson are hardly likely to want to read his wittering. I hear he’s talking to GB News as well.

I always thought he was a better journalist than a politician..

A journalist who lied continually in print? Who never held back from being racist or homophobic? Who was sacked for lying by one of his editors?

Oh dear...

here

Where is here? 🤔

Well, even if we don't buy it, we can look forward to umpteen links on Gransnet by posters who hate the DM!
😀

I do hope it's not on a Saturday! I still want the TV guide.

No, he told whoppers!

Grantanow Fri 16-Jun-23 15:31:32

He was sacked for lying by The Times. I doubt that would bother the Daily Mail. He'll probably have to limit his vocabulary for DM readers, no Latin tags and no curved bananas but we may see more references to letter boxes, etc. Obviously going down hill. Table Tennis News next?

BlueBelle Fri 16-Jun-23 15:38:28

Well it will suit him the DM make stuff up as they go along Unfortunately his lies will be believed by his many admirers and those sitting on the fence He’s a convincing liar

I suppose he will spend the next few months dropping bombs in Sunak’s area.

I wonder if he wants to split the Tory party?

It does seem to be in a very bad place now.

Dear God!

So there's a pile on on Fp for writing an acid comment and people are defending people's desire to read the words of a man that really aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

He should be writing in a comic, not a national newspaper.

GrandmaKT Fri 16-Jun-23 15:49:02

Well that explains today's Mail headline! Every other paper leads with "Boris found guilty of lying" or words to that effect. The Daily Star has "It's Official, Pinocchio is an absolute lying wazzock"! The Mail's headline, by complete contrast is "The Most Spiteful Stitch-Up in History of Politics"!!

Dickens Fri 16-Jun-23 15:51:05

For DM and Boris haters...

... haters, hate. This is such emotive terminology.

I do not like Boris Johnson nor trust him - for all the reasons many others have enumerated. But I do not hate him - and would even defend him if he was being attacked for the wrong reasons. I don't join in the ridicule about the way he looks, for example, because I believe that is shaming him for something he basically can't help.

I also think the DM is a megaphone for all sorts of dubious ideologies - sexist, racist... all on 'mute' of course. But I don't believe all those that read it are racist or sexist - people read the paper for different reasons. My NDN reads it (she's not online) because it's "compact" and she likes reading about celebrities.

Can we temper the rhetoric a bit? Hate is a very strong emotion... people kill because they 'hate'.

I'm not surprised BJ is going to pen something for the DM - I think he's on a mission, and true to his form, he will blame others for his own failings and probably tell us that he's a victim of a witch hunt and a deliberate attempt by his colleagues to reverse Brexit. He's a flamboyant personality and writes cleverly, and he will garner a lot of support,

But... I do not hate him just what he stands for, and his duplicity. He believes he's been stabbed in the back - but will ignore the fact that he's also been one of the back-stabbers previously.

Being critical is not hatred.

To be clear Mazie I will definitely not be reading the DM I was just talking about his ability to write.. I loathe the man especially for being instrumental in enabling Brexit... and for his dishonesty and lack of ethics. I don't think I can be clearer..
