Wondering if any GNs talk back to Tv with answers for The Chase/ Lingo/ University Challenge/Eggheads or Jeremy Vine et al .. always feel a bit High when I guess/answer correctly😊

My son and I watch Pointless together but spend a lot of time saying "Why don't people know this stuff?" I also watch Only Connect, University Challenge, Puzzling and The 1% Club. Apparently my 10 year old grandson is very good at the 1% Club. My real favourite is Impossible. I wish they would do another series. You have to be so careful reading the questions to avoid the impossible answers. Sadly Eggheads hasn't really survived the move to Channel 5. Cutting one round out to make room for the adverts has really ruined it and there's always the Jeremy Vine problem!

I enjoy them all but Only Connect is completely beyond me.

The only time we get any questions right is the last round. The other rounds have us stymied.

I like Only Connect and sometimes can answer a few but UC seems beyond me now although I used to be quite good at answering question on there.

I enjoy them all and am so grateful to some lovely people who upload them on to YouTube shortly after they are broadcast so that we expats can watch them.

Only Connect is very often beyond me as it refers to cultural topics that were exclusive to the UK during the 80s and 90s. I left the UK in 1976 and have no idea about the pop music or TV of that era. Later cultural references I can understand, since I could re-connect in the 2000s thanks to the internet.

I find I can answer UC questions OK simply by dint of listening to In Our Time and other Radio 4 science and history programmes. Classical music being universal, I can get those too.

My parents were avid quiz watchers and I suppose I inherited the passion from them. My sister hates them, though.

For some reason I’ve twice recently week come upon Who Wants to be a Millionaire whilst channel hopping. I used to watch it all the time years ago but not since it started up again. It’s so stressful. Even the repeat is stressful. In fact, the repeats are even more stressful. And painful. Are women, thankfully, usually more risk averse (ie sensible) on the show?

Monday night is quiz night with Mastermind, Only Connect and University Challenge. If my husband is at his French class I watch Richard Osman but normally we are eating dinner at 6pm so don't see it.
