A brighter start here in brackley this morning , here in brackley .
Today another recovery day , will be watching the Vuelta cycle race on TV later though .
Otherwise have a Wiltshire Farm meal later , as these seem to be benefitting my system as there just the right amount for me.
Take Care,
Mick
PS I got a new rubber shower mat yesterday average price around £6-7 but in B & M just under £3.

Good morning Mick, it’s good to hear that you’re getting better!
Yesterday I went to a new friend’s house, very close to here and enjoyed a coffee and a wander around an amazing garden.
Today it’s a dog walk and some more gardening, I think we’re unlikely to get rain.
It’s dry out at the moment, we did have a couple of rumbles of thunder with brief showers yesterday.
Take care 🌹

Good morning from a dawning Bristol. We had warm sunshine in the afternoon, with sudden very heavy showers, felt like melted hail with enormous raindrops.
I had a quiet day yesterday, pootling and sewing. It was nice to chat to people at the church coffee.
The vicar is back from his holiday, so we’ll have him today. To my surprise, he published my name in the weekly news sheet as one of the organisers of the harvest lunch. I’m only helping with the catering!
I hope today brings happiness to the birthdays and anniversaries, relief to the sad and poorly. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Cornwall where showers are forecast. Church at 4pm, otherwise a pottering day. May continue sorting my downstairs workroom but that's a messy job so I'll see how I feel as the day emerges. Good value at B&M Mick - ours is miles away from me so I rarely get there.

Good morning my friends the weather here on the east coast of Fife is supposed to rain today but I’m staying at home with my visiting daughter and grandson, yesterday was fabulous with them we had such fun and we ordered a pizza and chips for tea. We even had a good half hr sitting outside in the garden.
My dear grandson did a few chores for me and I rewarded him with a couple of pounds.
Today I’m getting a FaceTime from my friend Maysayo who lives in Japan then my lovely daughter and grandson will be off home after a breakfast of sausages eggs and beans. I’m going to miss them so much but there’s plans to go to their home for Christmas - I’ll love that I’m so blessed

Have a good day my friends

Good morning from a promising looking start to the day in Torbay. Yesterday, we also had some short, sharp showers, grandMattie.

Last night a few of us from the Dad’s Army cast joined a fledgling pantomime theatre company for a fund raising quiz in Kingskerswell. I was grateful to have a lift although the driver had misread the map and we initially stopped at the wrong venue. We didn’t win but had an enjoyable evening, apart from when I fell up the step to the ladies and landed in the dark! No doubt bruises will follow but no serious damage done.

Church then a day at home. Every blessing. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from the New Forest.

Yesterday we had a very pleasant stroll across heathland. The ponies are quite different to the Dartmoor ponies which are more rugged and stockier than the New Forest ponies. The heather is at its best and carpets everywhere in a purple haze. It is definitely early autumn now, but a glorious time of year. At lunch time we repaired to a decent restaurant where I had lobster and prawn linguine washed down with rhubarb gin and ginger. Later we sat in the garden reading in the sun.

Today I think we may walk along the Avon footpath so that Duncan can have a paddle. Might then wander into Waitrose to get some provisions - fruit and eggs.

Peace to you all.

Good Morning all, good to hear you’re on the mend Mick.
A hot 35 predicted today here in Spain.
Today we leave Alcazar de San Juan for Ronda, this is a long drive 5 hours, we are hoping the roads will be quiet as it’s a Sunday.

Yesterday we explored and found ourselves in a local town where everything was shut, the market place was full of people they were burning vines in preparation for a mass “cook off” apparently it’s a regional dish called Gachas Manchegas con Pancetta y Chorizo!
The smell will stay with me forever, it was wonderful.
Families arrived with their huge pans and bags of food and wine they place the pans on the vines and start the cooking process.
They then eat drink and party!

We returned to the same restaurant last night and chose different dishes, staff saw our car parked outside and couldn’t believe we had driven from the UK!

We have only seen 3 UK cars since leaving Santander.

We had hoped to get to Ronda in time to spend a couple of hours by the pool and explore a bit but it’s unlikely as my husband is still sleeping!

Have a happy and peaceful Sunday everyone.

The picture is the burning of the vines, I wish you could all smell it and feel the atmosphere😉

Good morning everyone from the Cotswolds. I can’t see what the weather is like.
Wishing Urns a Happy Birthday. I hope you have a lovely day 🍸🎉

For my birthday outing we went to Rococo Garden. On the way we stopped off on the common and spread out a blanket to have a picnic. Before we could eat very much it started to rain and it was big old fat rain as Forrest Gump would say. We got absolutely soaked getting back to the car and I sat there laughing at the state we were in. I bought some plants at Rococo and then we went to Nailsworth and Beechnutella bought me a handbag. Back to her house for a cuppa and wine and fellanutella cooked our dinner.

I shall call in at a garden centre today on my way home for a mooch.

Thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday yesterday.

Have a good day all 💐

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Other than a quick food shop a quiet day yesterday, Mr C wasn’t feeling too well. He’s still asleep, we’ll take today as it comes.

All good wishes for your birthday urms.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

karmalady Sun 27-Aug-23 07:31:50

Good morning from a cooler s somerset, lots of clouds

I bought an A4 sized paperback locally yesterday, really well put together and full of info about every area of the market town in which I live. I knew it was old here but is absolutely ancient and now I feel like a dot passing through. She gathered together lots of ancient bits of maps and records and I realised how so much became enclosed and was given away to various lords and earls. I love reading this and it is going to remain on my coffee table. The vibes are calm and peaceful in my town, always peasant struggles but no nasty anything else

Today a walk rather than a ride and some more sewing, which is such and peaceful productive hobby. I was in cutting mojo yesterday and cut several pieces of stash ready for autumn garments. I am gently changing style, more lamb and less mutton

Have a good day

luluaugust Sun 27-Aug-23 07:40:18

Good morning from a brightening W Kent, we also received a fair share of rain yesterday. The rushing around seems to have come to a halt, so quiet day, chops for lunch and see what happens.
Happy birthday Urms
Best wishes to all

Grandmabatty Sun 27-Aug-23 07:42:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and wet. Urms birthday wishes to you. Ash I hope the only thing bruised is your pride! Cornergran I hope Mr C feels better today.
Yesterday was housework and washing day. All was achieved, including food shopping. I visited mum at night and she was remarkably present for a nice change. Then home for a pizza.
Today I'll roast a chicken and make plum crumble. No other plans but reading. Have a good day all

aggie Sun 27-Aug-23 07:48:23

Marydoll Sun 27-Aug-23 07:55:37

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it's 12°C and partly sunny.

A brief post from me today. I've been sick twice during the night due to excessive coughing. Mr MD slept through it all, as usual 😡. He still insists he does not have a hearing problem.

Your trip sounds idyllic, Sago. Ronda was another place on my never to see, bucket list. My friend married a Spanish man and they own a bodega near Ronda. He drove all the way from there to our town to get married.
Safe onward travels.

Have a good day folks.

Marydoll Sun 27-Aug-23 07:56:13

Birthday greetings, Urms.

ginny Sun 27-Aug-23 07:59:54

Good morning. The sun is fighting to get through the clouds here in the Wye valley.
Yesterday we had a pleasant boat trip on the Wye river and then went up to Symonds Yat Rock. I was determined to walk up to the view point and it was worth the effort. However , likeBeechnut there was a cloudburst as we started to come down and we were dripping wet in seconds.
Today we are off to Forest of Dean. Hopefully a ride on a steam train. Otherwise we’ll see what we find.
Wishing all a good day.

aggie Sun 27-Aug-23 08:07:13

Aww Marydoll) I hope the cough eases soon xx

kittylester Sun 27-Aug-23 08:11:39

Good morning all from a fairly bright North Leicestershire. There is thunder in the forecast - just at the time we will be walking to the restaurant for lunch.

I am quite fed up being without a kitchen - who'd have thought that being unable to cook would be such a pain.

My brother had his op yesterday but had to stay in hospital overnight rather than being just there for the day.

Many happy returns to lovely Urms.

Ashcombe Sun 27-Aug-23 08:12:13

In answer in to your enquiry yesterday Grandabatty, I am going back to France on Thursday with an overnight in Portsmouth on Wednesday. Last night nobody saw me fall but I was in a slight panic because I couldn’t get up or reach the light switch initially!

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 27-Aug-23 08:17:10

Good morning from a sunny but cold Oxfordshire. Doug will arrive later and stay until Tuesday, she loves it here and sits in the garden all day, looking out for rabbits, pigeons, hedgehogs and squirrels, the walnuts are big and fat on the trees so the squirrels will soon be here to grab them all. If we are still here in the Spring I will be pulling up walnut saplings before they take root.
WWM2 you are on my home patch, how I miss it, if you go to Mudeford quay you could watch or join in with people crabbing and see views across to the Isle of Wight and The Needles. There is a good restaurant on the beach too.
Sago Ronda is another favourite place of ours, when we had a house over there we often went up, one wet day we travelled up through snow, the road was/is a bit hairy but it was so sunny when we arrived. This was 40 yrs ago, but I doubt Ronda has changed, there is a park with beautiful views over, where we used to sit and have little chocolate coated ice cream balls, it was a very calm place to be.
Safe travels to those on the move and virtual hugs to those who are going through tough times.
