GG13 I understand your angst about this. My mother's partner is going through the same thing. 30 years ago he had the same problem and the insurance company did the same thing to him and he had the internal repairs done. Now he is making a claim again, they are trying to slide out of it saying he had subsidence all those years ago. so they are not liable. Unfortunately he cannot find the paperwork from 30 years ago so he has no proof that he argued with them and refused to sign to say that he accepted the work as a full and final settlement because he was adamant that it was subsidence when they said it wasn't. He is having a nervous breakdown over it.
The only thing I am grateful for is that we didn’t sign of the last claim and this is being treated as a continuation of that.
I cannot fault our insurance company, our contact is feeling as frustrated as I am.
Is it unreasonable to want to know what is causing the problem, and have that remedied before the cosmetics part? It’s a big house and every single room needs plastering, decorating and the majority of the floors need to come up, I am just at the end of my tether…
