Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine with bus to Bicester for a couple of hours , I see now they intend to stop the £2 single bus fare after January next year , proves its costing bus operators allot .
Relax rest of day ready for the weekend.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is only 5°C.

Welcome to a love thread Gundy, I hope your retirement is all you have wished for. Also a warm welcome to loopyloo,

GM, it will be all worth it. When we were building an accessible shower room and extending the kitchen, it took eight weeks. The builders were here at 8am every morning, I thought they would never leave! Our garden was out of commission for the whole summer.

Mizuna, try not to give up hope. There are many people on antiplatelets , myself included, so there must be a protocol for this.
Years ago, when I had major surgery, the anaesthetist told me that because I was such a high risk, he would wait until I was on the table, before he made his final decision. I told him I had no intention of leaving!

Yesterday was a bit of a lost day, I seem to have taken a step backwards healthwise again. The constant coughing has left me with no voice, which means Alexa is ignoring when I ask her to do anything. ( Just like DH) 😂
However, I did get a better sleep, last night (only up twice) now that my heart medication has been adjusted.

DH got Dollie's high chair down from the loft for Babydoll to use. I was mortified at the state of it. I blame DH, 😉for I would never put anything away, without cleaning it first.
I stripped it right down to the shell and steamed cleaned it. The straps were taken off and soaked for hours in Vanish. However, despite taking photos, I can't work out how to put it all back together! 😂 When did baby paraphernalia become so sophisticated? Today's task is to reassemble it. 🤯

Wishing all you busy people an enjoyable day., I'm quite envious.
For all those struggling, a gentle day is wished for.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks grey and misty
There’s so many talented people here, well done to all. Unfortunately I’ve never been creative like that but I really admire others talent and patience.
What a long day gMattie no wonder you’re tired. Hoping it’s all looking good though
Im off to my usual Friday morning at the gym, a circuits (strength) class and then a very splashy Aqua Zumba. In between the classes me and my pal will pop across to Costa and grab a quick coffee. DH is working and we’ll meet up afterwards and maybe do a bit of shopping somewhere.
Hope the dentist appt is ok Wwm you’ll feel much better when it’s over
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all.

I’ve been awake since 4am for no good reason. I’d just gone back to sleep when at 7:10 Royal Mail delivered a parcel for a coat only ordered at 7pm last night. Very fast service indeed but AIBU to think 7am is too early to be woken up by my doorbell.

Hope to meet up with DD2 this morning. Tomorrow we are heading over to DD1 for an Indian at her heavenly local one. We will stay overnight.

Have a good at all.

Gingster Fri 17-Nov-23 07:53:25

Good morning all.
It’s bright but chilly here in Essex.

I’ll take little DGD to school and then take DD for a scan. Third time lucky - it’s been cancelled twice.
Dh will take us and drop us off (parking impossible) . We’ll get a cab back. .

Lovely craft GM and * Mizuna*. 👍.

Take care 🍂🍁

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Beautiful quilt and paintings gM and Mizuna. Quiet morning at art group yesterday I think the talkers were elsewhere. Gardener this morning and then off to DD’s this afternoon for GS5 and dinner with the family.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from North Yorkshire. A dry start with a pretty sunrise.
Off to help at a parent carer group this morning then a cleaner is coming this afternoon. I don’t need anyone regularly but I’d like help with some of the bigger jobs. I’m wary of overreaching or climbing as I’m on my own.
Loving all the crafts and painting. Knitting is my thing, although it’s just simple stuff.
Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Fri 17-Nov-23 08:05:17

Good morning all from a dry Black country sun trying to make an appearance.
DH drs appointment yesterday became a telephone one instead of face to face but gout has been confirmed a prescription needs to be picked up today and more bloods in 4wks.
Lovely crafts and artwork on show here this morning.
Over to club this evening to meet friends.
Enjoy your Friday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grandmabatty Fri 17-Nov-23 08:10:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. I'm looking after dgs2 for a couple of hours this morning but I'm still full of the cold and feeling grim. Definitely not covid because I tested yesterday. Have a good day all

Greyduster Fri 17-Nov-23 08:15:45

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it’s cold. Yesterday I did manage to haul myself out of bed to go out with the walking group and enjoyed it once I got there. The woods look amazing at the moment. After having lunch at DDs, I called in on my niece on the way home for a pleasant hour catching up on family news.
Nothing planned for today except to make a cake for my son in law’s birthday at the weekend.
Mizuna I love your paintings.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannySomerset Fri 17-Nov-23 08:30:23

A useful shopping trip yesterday but amazingly tiring. When did I become such a wimp? No sign of austerity where we were!

Coffee morning and a facial the height of today’s dramas but must sort out clothes for the weekend away for DGD1’s 21st birthday party to which I am looking forward. Pale sunshine here at the moment so am hoping to avoid a setting, a nice change after the last week or so.

RosiesMaw Fri 17-Nov-23 08:32:08

Good morning from N Bucks- a beautiful morning again, hope it stays fair.
The Chanel exhibition was lovely and despite its popularity did not feel crowded once we were actually in. We had timed tickets which helped - the members’ queue on the other hand was like a “long, long trail a-winding”
Anyway it was well worth the long day and I did not envy our patient coach driver as he struggled up Knightsbridge in the rain at 4.30 on a dark November afternoon. 30 minutes to get from S Ken to Harrods!
My next trip to London will be in 10 days when I am going to the Dress Rehearsal of Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana at Covent Garden courtesy of my sister in law. I am beyond excited!
TIB now and a quiet morning then Book Club here this afternoon. (Better do 10 minutes of Domestic Goddessing - what my mum used to call “a lick and a promise”)
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

GrannySomerset Fri 17-Nov-23 08:32:34

Bah,! A wetting not a setting. Autocorrect with an illogical mind of its own.

Sar53 Fri 17-Nov-23 08:41:12

Good morning from a bright Essex coast.

A parcel to collect from the Post Office and then food shopping.

DH will be home later this afternoon.

A beautiful quilt GM and lovely paintings Mizuna.

Have a pleasant day everyone xx

Urmstongran Fri 17-Nov-23 08:49:26

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp but seems mild enough. We plan to walk over to the Macmillan Centre today as apparently they host a drop in coffee afternoon every Friday. Probably do us both good.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning from the Angus coast where the cloud seems to be thickening. But no matter - the washing will go out anyway as we're forecast three days of rain ahead. Seize the moment as they say!
What an amazing quilt grandmattie, and beautiful paintings ,mizuna, clever ladies.
I envy you your Christmas market in Ely Cathedral Liberty - sounds lovely. One of my favourites is Lincoln Christmas market, which is so atmospheric.
Today I'm off to do some tai chi with the patients at the nhs-run Balance Clinic. We demonstrate the first part of the set first of all, and then run through some movements which can be done while seated. It's always well-received, but I've only ever known one person from the Balance Clinic to turn up at a class!
Afterwards we'll probably go out for a coffee and/or a bowl of soup somewhere - we usually do, but nothing planned.
I love reading about all your busy-ness in this thread so enjoy all your doings today the best you can and look for the sunshine through all that rain - it's there somewhere 🌞

Georgesgran Fri 17-Nov-23 09:04:00

Good morning from a dry, bright Durham. My cold is still brewing - not yet full blown.
A leisurely morning, then I’m taking Little Dog back to DD1s and we might do something with DGS1. Later, a friend and I hope to bus into Durham to see Lumiere. We missed it last time.
Best wishes to all. X

harrigran Fri 17-Nov-23 09:04:18

Good morning from a chilly NE.
Workmen in the street again, lorries and diggers and still the school run drive up the street and park everywhere. The bin wagon is on its way too, can be chaos until after 9am.
GD working at the Durham Lumiere until Sunday night, Good experience for her as she is doing art and graphics at college in Dunham.
Well done with the quilt grandMattie.
Lovely paintings Mizuna.

BlueSapphire Fri 17-Nov-23 09:37:51

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but chilly, only 2°C outside according to Alexa. There is also a thick frost on the summerhouse roof.

Two strenuous dance classes yesterday - the last time we rehearse before Sunday's performance. As we've been learning and practising for 6 months, shall be glad to see the back of them - 3 tap routines and 3 ballet 'enchainments' as they're called.

Out to my usual Friday morning mooch around the shops, with coffee and a bite in the M&S Cafe.the

Beautiful quilt grandMattie, and lovely paintings Mizuna. What talented grans we have!

Hope the sun shines on all today, if not literally, then metaphorically.....oops, that's a long word for this time of day!

Stilllearning Fri 17-Nov-23 10:11:40

Morning from a sunny South Lanarkshire, how nice that is after all the rain.

Lovely quilt grandMattie, my 11 year old DGD would love that, unfortunately her granny is not so talented.
Mizuna, another gifted gran. I read about your disappointment at your pre op app. So sorry, I hope it gets sorted for you.

Very busy few days here, my mind is scrambled, I can’t do this easily now. Lunch today with a family member who can be tricky, when I read about your rehearsal for Cranford at Christmas’ Ash it sounded so happy I was quite envious!

Thinking again about your daughter Gingster and wishing all well.

Kalu Fri 17-Nov-23 10:30:58

Good morning all from Glasgow. Dry and calm with patches of blue sky is a welcome sight.

Beautiful artwork Mizuna and I love the cat quilt GM. You both have my fingers twitching to raid my wicker trunk of craft supplies. It’s been a while since I have been in the mood to be creative.
I will keep myself busy doing whatever indoors and hopefully spend some time pottering in the garden.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a less worrying day for those with troubled times.

LauraNorderr Fri 17-Nov-23 10:37:53

Good morning Mick, good morning all from dry and sunny West Cheshire.
Our new and extremely comfortable chairs arrived yesterday to replace the camping chairs we’ve used thus far. A long afternoon nap tested their suitability. Fabulous.
Just waiting for book shelves to be installed next week and we’re done.
Off for a stroll along Thurstaston Beach this afternoon, missing a bit of sand in the toes, I’ll get over it.
Don’t want to write anaesthetist in case the spelling isn’t correct so I’ll just say I hope the gas and and air specialist comes down in your favour Mizuna.
Wishing you all a day that lifts your spirits

Blossoming Fri 17-Nov-23 11:27:36

Good morning Mick and everyone from Sunny Lancashire. Friday morning is my blood pressure and weight monitoring, so I’m late calling in. It was raining earlier but lovely sunshine now. The sky over towards the Pennines is looking rather dark at the moment, hope it isn’t heading our way!

I shall go back and read the thread now, Happy Friday 🦩🦩

Bella23 Fri 17-Nov-23 11:34:49

Good morning from a bright and sunny Eden. DH has taken himself off up Skida or Skiddaw to the rest of the world.
DD has just phoned in excitement over the new car we helped fund and said it is so fast compared to her other that she nearly pranged it parking at home last night.
They are off to Stratford to see "Box of Delights", I do envy her living so near and the Grans who live near Durham. I would love to see the Son et Lumiere at the Cathedral, Palace Green will look fantastic. It brings back fond memories of student days. The T.V. coverage will have to do.
I hope everyone has a happy sunny day .
