‘Evening All’.

Well that’s almost it for 2023.

Best wishes to all in here for 2024 - the regulars, the readers, those who post only occasionally. Thank you dear soop for giving us all a welcome and safe space in your cosy kitchen.
Those of us who visit or read are much comforted by it.

I’ve just had my cocktail, a sidecar, then we shall have a nice bottle of red with dinner, before too long. We shall watch the Hootenanny then the fireworks!
We watched the rugby too BlueSapphire and our boys won!

So much for my earlier HNY sign off - I’m back in the Kitchen! Did anyone else see that the Kitchen got a mention in the GN year’s round up email?

It’s lovely to see familiar names tonight and see some new ones as well. ❤️ Thinking of you all and especially those who are alone tonight. In less than four hours it will be over and we’ll be starting afresh in a brand new year.

PS Tilly I love that picture!

Just peeping round the door to say Happy New Year to everyone in the kitchen.

Grannmarie Sun 31-Dec-23 20:42:21

I'm just popping in to wish Happy Hogmanay and all the best when it comes for 2024 to Soop and all the lovely Kitchen people.
This special Kitchen and the kind people who frequent it have been a great support and comfort to me since lockdown.

We had a lovely visit from the Wee Boy this afternoon, followed by forty winks on the sofa to recharge the batteries for waiting up for The Bells. Wishing everyone good health and peace of mind in 2024.

Just popping in to wish you all a Happy New Year. I am feeling much better after a hiccup in my ongoing fight for freedom from my bed and will be rejoining you all soon x

Jaxjacky Sun 31-Dec-23 21:07:20

We’ve just eaten duck, pancakes and all the bits (thank you Waitrose).
Phoned daughter, who sounds so bunged up, she’ll be in bed before midnight and my son who’s in a pub, goodness knows about him at midnight! Wished them all a Happy New Year.
We did call in the pub earlier, no furniture out, space for the dancing, said HNY to a few friends and scooted back home.

Thank you soop for being the hostess with the mostest.
To all of you kitcheners, visitors, strangers, you’re the best. X

I have just had a lovely supper of paella and I opened a bottle;e of dry white. Thankfully the bombs have stopped and they were not too close.

I do not fancy anything on TV so I will be retiring shortly.

Silly me spoke too soon, the bombs have started again.

A happy New Year to all and please look after yourselves.

Thanks soop for everything over the years. I have been around from almost day1.

Happy New Year to all kitcheners, thank you soop for the very best place on GN
I thought we were going to have a very quiet NYE but our plans changed mid morning when DD2 and family asked if they could all come over and stay the night. So we’ve had a lovely family evening, lots of games as usual and the two DGC stayed up to see the new year in and joined in the celebrations.
I’ve not stayed up this late for years but I’ve enjoyed it as a one off even though I know I’ll be exhausted tomorrow
Will see you all sometime later today , take care all x

Happy New Year kitchen people.
This is the tiny church I attended yesterday.

kittylester Mon 01-Jan-24 11:10:50

Hi everyone, I am still keeping an eye on you all through the window but am not managing to get in so often nowadays.

It is lovely to still see 'oldtimers' still enjoying Soops hospitality. I must try to pop in more often.

Anyway, just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.

cornergran Mon 01-Jan-24 11:12:16

Look after yourself * kitty* x

Pantglas2 Mon 01-Jan-24 11:17:29

A happy new year to Soop and all Kitcheners!

I’m a regular reader, rare poster and occasional bringer of bounty so here’s some kedgeree for brunch with some leftover cava 🥂to toast everyone and hope for better days all round 🤗

dustyangel Mon 01-Jan-24 12:38:46

After a difficult few days DH has at last had his staples out and is feeling a lot better. I avoided a fall but in doing so managed to scrape the skin off the back of my ankle but have stopped the bleeding and am in no pain despite the washing machine going on strike with my bloody trousers still in it!

So I can wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year with all my heart ❤️

Happy New Year to all the Kitcheners. Been a reasonably decent day here in Dunblane. We are having a lazy day today, stayed up just passed the bells but we don’t do anything much on New Year’s Day. Making a “steak pie” for dinner but with venison, chipolata sausages and red currant jelly in the gravy. The jelly was made by a friend. Lemon tart to follow. Need to catch up on some recorded programs now.
