Having to enter my year of birth on a web site and feeling the lactic acid build in your hand as you keep scrolling back and back or hearing a song a thinking that must be a new one I don't remember it, it must be after my "time" , yes it was but it is from the 90s which is 30 years ago ..how is that possible aren't the 70s only 30 years ago 🤔

Yesterday I had a delivery containing alcohol and the delivery man had to verify my date of birth. As he scrolled back on his machine he said “I’ve never had to scroll back that far before!”

This has made me choke with laughter 😂😂😂
Cheeky driver!

It's the hand dryers in public toilets, all that loose skin getting pushed around!

I feel your pain, literally.
I did complain to the author of one such form, who told me that, depending on the format, you can press and hold on the year display which will bring up a list that is much easier to scroll straight to your year. This eliminates the need to scroll through, in my case, 63 x 12 pages.
Hope this helps someone

Feeling my age at 65 : Trying to recover from a chest infection - over two weeks still coughing and needing a long afternoon nap and lacking energy.
Neck wrinkles
Having to buy big knickers and non wired bras.
Flat shoes are now the go to for comfort.
A positive though. Over 60's discount on a Tuesday at Iceland. Free prescriptions.

Not being able to cut my own toenails!

I asked at the foot clinic at our health centre. They don't cut toe nails even if you can't reach them. ( toe nails) They gave me a form for Age UK who apparently offer a nail cutting service BUT not if you are on anticoagulation therapy. So I will have to find a podiatrist.

It is because that the songs of the 70's and 80's did not interest you. My time is the late 50's and early 60's and I know every single word of every single record.

Age is just a number, I am 81 years old and had an argument the other week with a woman in the library who told me to stand up and give her a seat as they were meant for elderly people. I told her I was elderly, she said she was older than me and I didn't look elderly. I asked her how old she was and she said, 'in her 60's'. I dug into my bag and pulled out a letter from the Winter fuel allowance showing that I had been awarded £600 as I was over 80 years of age. I showed it to her and to put it mildly she was in shock. She stormed out and told me to start carrying my birth certificate around with me. It really made my day.

Looking in the mirror does it for me.

DH, 75 at the time, was sat in the elderly person's seat on a bus as it was the only free seat available. At the next stop someone got on and told him he should give it up as 'I'm 60'. Probably made DH's day.

We are The Greatest Generation - thank you to Tom Brokaw! I think about that often and find it comforting.

Other than my aches and pains, I look at the aging rockers and entertainers I grew up listening to… hmm, I must look like that too.

Being asked by my GD if I used a feather to write at school…… I’m old but not that old!!!

Having a body that doesn't't do what I want it to do!

Thank you, all of you. You have made me realise how much I have to be thankful for.

Seventy second birthday just past, and I can still get up from the floor unaided, and when I look at photos of myself as a young woman, I think "nice looking woman", which I did not at the time the photo was taken, I may say.

When Russia invaded Ukraine I said to a young woman of thirty who commented that Putin says it will only take a week to subdue Ukraine, that Nasser had said something similar about Israel at the start of the Six Days' war.

Well, she knew where and what Israel is, but had no idea who Nasser was, or what the Six Days' war was. That made me feel my age.

As a child of five, I asked my maternal grandmother what lving in the Stone Age was like, as I thought she had been brought up then, so when small children ask me similar questions, I laugh, as she did, and say, "I'm not quite as old as that, poppet!"

My ruddy knees too.

Sometimes I'll line up my mobile to take a photo of a beautiful flower. Then somehow I'm in selfie mode and there's a cross eyed, wrinkly old bat scowling back at me ...

My DGS was doing a school project on the 2nd world war. He interviewed his gt gp both in their 90s to see what they remembered.

He asked them if their dads had fought in the war.
The first world war they replied!

I did a volunteering role last Summer at a conference and one of my fellow team-mates commented on the scrolling thing. He was about 20 years younger than me! I just said "How do you think I feel?"!

When I realised the consultant ENT surgeon who operated on DH was 10yrs younger than our eldest daughter. Even DD suddenly felt old at 48!

Oh yes, the bless you thing, especially when said with the head to one side. One of these days my reply will be, but I didn’t sneeze. Grrrr.

Wondering whether my present admirer has dementia (he must have, I believe, to fancy me).

It's a wonder anyone buys anything after seeing their reflection in those mirrors: they're brutal!
