Schools often show photos of their pupils on their website, obviously with permission not in my school, or L.A. I can assure you. Only back view and no names were allowed.
If you had attended as many safeguarding and internet safety courses (many organised by the police and CEOP) as I have, you would not be suggesting that we are hysterical.
I also served on L.A internet safety working parties, our L.A. took it very seriously and rightly so. Some very inoccuous webites for children, turned out to be a cover for paedophiles.
In my school at the start of the Autumn term, the ICT programme focussed solely on internet safety for six weeks.
Furthermore, you would not believe how foolish and naive some parents are.
Alerted by a parent, I came across the Facebook profile of an eight year old pupil , posing provocatively in a bikini. Eight year olds are not legally allowed a Facebook profile. Her mother had set it up.
Sadly, these things are happening every day.
