Walking around my locality I couldn't fail to experience the staggeringly appalling state of the pavements - as many potholes as the roads, never-ending patch repairs, so many cracks and fissures they resemble a drunken patchwork and you really need to keep your eyes peeled while at the same time anxiously getting an extra grip on your balance.
I didn't quite notice just how bad things were until I had to have my toes amputated, and God knows how mums with child buggies and wheelchair users manage!
Councils focus on potholes on roads - not that they bother to fix them - but pavements are horrendously neglected.
What are they doing with the Council Tax?
What was your happiest moment today?
