WELCOME! The buffet is ready and there is coffee, tea and wine for the sharing of. Make yourselves comfortable. I shall now have my lunch and join you later.

Get well soon, Soop
I've caught up on all your news and am really grateful for all your lovely support and PM's that you've sent. Things are improving...not sorted yet but going forward in a more positive way. I think God thought I needed a bit of a shake up...I'm my mind he does that now and again..and devastating as they seem at the time..looking back all things happen for a reason..and so this will prove to be... Faith is a tricky thing at times.
Get well wishes to Soop, LlfL and Jax and GrandmaB too and love to all you other wonderful ladies who pick me up when I'm down.....but not out. X
Get well soon Soop. Xx
Warm, get well wishes for soop.
Thanks Baggs for letting us know, take care, yourself.
Kindly thoughts to all, especially those with extra worries. x
Sorry to hear soop is feeling poorly, hope she’s back with us very soon. Thanks baggs for letting us know and hope you’re doing ok ❤️
I’ve been out most of the day, the gym this morning and then coffee with a group of friends this afternoon. I really enjoyed the catch up, but I’m much more of a listener than a talker and couldn’t get a word in edgeways for most of the afternoon 🤣
Good that you’ve got an appointment soon Jax hope the physio works their magic
Good job with saving the bulbs grannmarie I’m sure they’ll look really lovely when potted up.
Sounds like a busy day GG13 - enjoy your well deserved rest
Good to hear from you Neine and pleased things are slowly improving
Thinking of Blossoming and hoping all is ok
Get well soon Soop. Thanks Baggs and hope you and your family are getting through as best you can.🌻
Good to hear from you Neine.
We have had a miserable weekend.DH started coughing again on Friday and it’s not stopped. He went to the doctor today with me in tow because, being a typical man never tells it as it is!GP says it’s heart related as he has had arterial fibrillation for many years, he gets very breathless and frustrated!Having more blood tests this week and he’s on another tablet so we will see.The one good thing was,the chest X-ray was clear.
Hope your feeling better Grandmabatty and that the knee is healing Jax.
Have a good evening everyone.
Wishing soop a speedy recovery.
Get well soon soop and welcome back neine .
Glad to see that everyone is busy. Keep it up!
Good afternoon to all kitchen pals, hoping soop is feeling a bit better today
I’ve just come in from the garden, one minute it’s sunshine the next minute rain - a real mixture today. I should be getting on with cleaning but can’t resist going outside if it nice. I sat for a few minutes just listening to the birds and watching them fly to and fro from the feeders, they definitely think spring is on its way
Hoping your DH feels a bit better soon Yia and your knee is on the mend Jax
Hello kitchen people. I hope Soop is feeling much better today.
OH has gone off to see the physio about his knees. He finds walking even a short distance painful. He said he just wants new knees and will pay if there is a massive waiting list on the NHS. There is. A friend of mine has been waiting months and is having the op in August. She is in so much pain that she’s on crutches and taking morphine.
OH is off to his shooting club later and I’ll pop round to see some friends.
Have a good evening.
Afternoon everyone, that sounds a horrible cough Yia I hope the new medication gives some relief.
Good to see you call in neine.
Birdsong is delightful brook I enjoy it it too, as long as the pigeons and magpies aren’t dominant.
Your other half has my sympathy llfl, just one knee out is frustrating, I hope the physio helped.
Mine said I’ve sprained the hamstring, calf muscle and inner knee ligament (MCL), that all explains the massive bruising, I have exercises to do, 4-6 weeks recovery. My daughter said ‘you don’t do things by halves’, it was good to get out, even to the surgery!
I do hope Blossoming is ok.
Good afternoon kitcheners. Jaxjacky by geck, you don't do things by half! Lots of sympathy from me. Ladyleftfieldlover a friend of mine is in a similar situation. Her knees are shot and she's on the waiting list. Brook being in the garden is soul enhancing. Yiayia I'm feeling slightly better thanks. I hope your husband recovers quickly. Neine it's good to hear from you. Grannmarie I hope you are well too.
A good day with dgs2. He was very chirpy today and we went for a walk to see diggers then he enjoyed digging in the garden with new tools his size. They've been dropped off and I'm having a rest before tidying the kitchen. A quiet night ahead. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners
Just popped in to see if there was any news of our dear soop?
I have survived the soft play centre with 4 grandchildren, then a sports shop with 9yr old GS choosing football boots.
Chilli con Carne this evening, ( easy as I batch cook different dishes all I need to do is defrost the chilli, cook the rice and throw some part baked rolls in the oven)
Yiayia4 hope your DH improves.
Jaxjacky DD injured her CL many years ago, the physio exercises definitely help, but you need to be a patient with lots of patience.
Grannygravy well done on surviving soft play! I loathe it.
Good grief Jax that sounds like some damage - hope it starts getting better soon
Your poor DH with both knees affected llfl hoping he can get some good treatment soon. DH had his TKR last June and is doing great now, although his recovery took some time
Busy days grandmabatty and GG13 - well done to you both and hope you get a rest this evening
Another one here thinking of Blossoming and hoping all is ok
Stir fry chicken coming up soon
I too hope that Blossoming is alright, She deals with her health related slings and arrows admirably. I think she is pretty amazing.
Just a quick pop in to the Kitchen to say hi. The family and I have been gathering our thoughts after the last couple of week’s shocks. I’m not sure we’ll ever come to terms with all this but we have to try and make things normal as much as possible. DS has gone in to his work and says it’s good to be doing the usual things again.
I’m sorry to hear of illnesses and accidents to Kitchen folk, get well soon, everyone. Special strength to Baggs and Urms each in their particular circumstances.
Today seemed almost springlike at times although I’d just got in from shopping when the heavens opened and it poured down! The sky was a most peculiar orange p/yellow colour with dark clouds looming overhead. Then a rainbow appeared and the sky turned blue and pink as the day ended.
I have the first daffodils in flowers in the garden. They look a bit lonely as I planted them early and nothing else has come up yet! I do have crocus and pansies in pots and leaves are budding on the roses. The grass is sodden, though, and squelches if you walk on it. It’ll be a while before the GC can go out onto it.
The status of the house following our December flood is that things must get worse before they get better! Someone has been to remove all the spoiled goods and taken up most of the flooring. They’ve also removed all the skirting boards and the built in bookcases so we are back to having boxes everywhere. Next stage is to have the walls reinstated, I think, and provide estimates for carpets etc. I’m not sure if we can stay in the house for that. Our kitten would be rather bored in a hotel room, I think!
Take care everyone. TOYA. Xxx
Good evening, lovely Kitchen people. I do hope Soop is cosy and comfortable, and can rejoin us soon. Sending kind thoughts to all who are feeling under par, or have poorly loved ones.
brook, glad you got out in your garden between the showers. We left heavy showers and lots of surface water, drove 40 minutes up the motorway and found blue skies and sunshine ☀!
We had a gorgeous afternoon tea, a Christmas gift from The Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy, at a nice castle/ hotel 🏩, it's where DS1 and DDIL1 had their wedding reception many years ago.
Good to see, Neine, glad things are a bit more positive for you now, take care.
Sorry to hear about your DH , YiaYia, but good that his chest x-ray is clear. Hope he feels better soon.
Sorry too, about your DH'S knees, Ladyleftfieldlover. I hope the physio helps until he can have surgery, even if you have to go private. Your health is your wealth.
On the subject of knees... Jaxjacky, what a lot of damage from a simple fall! No wonder it's so painful. I googled MCL and it looks like your MCL is next to my meniscus! Who knew there was so much going on in our knees? ( Well I didn't 🤣) Hope the physio helps.
I'm fine thanks, Grandmabatty, glad you're feeling a wee bit better. Sounds like a good day with your DGS2, that's the kind of things The Wee Boy enjoys.
Well done, Grannygravy, I take my hat off to you, braving the soft play with four DGC! I hope your 9 year old found the right boots.
I'm thinking about Blossoming and Annsixty, and all absent friends, hoping all is well.
Hello 👋, Urms, I think you and Himself are doing admirably too with your own slings and arrows. 💕🙏
Wishing everyone a peaceful night. NNGB.
Crossed posts, SueD! Thank you for your update, it's good to hear from you. Thinking of you and yours, wishing the best possible progress for your DS, you've certainly got a lot to contend with, but you're wise to try to have as much normality as possible. Hope your household repairs go ahead promptly.
When my cousin's house was damaged by fire, the insurance company put her family up in a nice rental cottage while the work was done, maybe that's worth enquiring about?
Take care x
Good to hear from you SueD and thinking of you all. You’ve definitely got such a lot of stress and worry just now, take it easy for a bit if you can 💐
Hi grannmarie your afternoon tea sounds just perfect ☕️ 🍰
Urms thinking of you and your DH 💐
Hello, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, what a quiet place today.
Hoping and praying that our Soop is resting and recovering, thinking of all with worries, illness or sorrow. 💕🙏🕯
Another day of (little) sunshine and ( lots of) showers. I took my wheelchair bound friend to Mass and the Coffee Morning, she really enjoys seeing everyone, then visited my sister and her wee granddaughter. We managed a wee walk, I use the pram as a walking aid!
Then I did a wee bit of tidying up the very soggy front garden. Feet up on the sofa now. Mince and jacket potatoes for dinner, yoghurt and pomegranate seeds for afters.
My sister and I were thinking about trying the new yoga class in the Church Hall tonight...it's the thought that counts!🤣 Not sure how I'd manage getting up and down with my wonky knee, but might give it a try.
TOYA, wishing everyone a pleasant Wednesday evening.
Grannmarie that sounds like a productive day for you. You are very kind and obviously fond of your friend too. Today I dropped off the stash of wool at the right community centre and moved two bags of cds and dvds from the house to the car. I got wrapping paper and extra gifts for dgs1 and wrapped his presents, ready for tomorrow. I hoovered then cleaned the bathroom. After that I visited mum who was ok. Then I went back to Tesco for a sloth birthday cake to save dd a job. She is making a cake for his party but he had requested a sloth cake for his actual birthday. It reminded me of my erstwhile son who is/was fond of sloths. Now home, I've had a cuppa and a pancake. I'll finish off the chicken casserole tonight with rice. My stomach issues appear to have settled. I intend to do a bit drawing too. I'm thinking of Urmston, Blossoming and Soop in particular, but good wishes to you all.
Hi all, that’s the one Grannmarie little tinker! Your idea of SueDonim decamping is a great one, if the insurance pays up, good luck if you venture out to yoga.
What a humungous upheaval SueD not going away soon either.
You’ve educated me Grandmabatty a sloth cake, they must be very popular to have their own cake, he will be overjoyed.
A quiet day here, it’s rained for most of it, stopped now and I heard of a bad accident on a nearby motorway which is now closed.
I hope soop is improving.
Sorry, I’m glad you’re tum has calmed down Grandmabatty.
