Good evening Kitcheners. Phew, sitting down and relaxing before dinner. Dgs2 was under the weather today. He has a cough which he's kindly passed to me. His appetite wasn't great either and this boy loves eating. So a bit of a grumbly day at times. Dgs1 had a good day at nursery. He swam a breadth and a half tonight without any float so we are all very proud of him. Suedonim your kittens sound adorable. Blossoming a rest will probably do you good. Brook a trip to Mexico sounds wonderful. Grannmarie fingers crossed for the workmen tomorrow. Soop my best wishes for Mr Soop. Poor soul.
Dinner is ready. I'll return tomorrow.

Jaxjacky Tue 27-Feb-24 20:25:37

Hi all, oh dear soop your Mr is in the wars, fingers crossed his tests are satisfactory and his poor scalp gets some relief.
Adventures to plan brook and not so far afield, a weekend birthday 🤞.
You could waste days SueDonim watching your kittens, better entertainment than the TV!
It’s been dull here today, but dry, my highlight was a chiropodist visit for an ingrowing toenail, now sorted? She said I have ‘well kept feet, sounds like hamsters or goldfish!
Thank you for your good wishes, I keep being reminded it’s not quite two weeks, another 2/4 to go.
Blossoming I hope you feel better tomorrow, you manage your challenges with such good grace. 🌻

NannyG4 Tue 27-Feb-24 22:30:47

Nicely tucked up in bed after a satisfying day. Volunteering at local Church Coffee Morning and then packing for a few days away. Promise of more rain , but no meals to cook and a change of scenery!! We don't want to go too far away as DH is waiting to hear whether he may have to have a heart related procedure shortly.....
Thinking of all who are having to deal with the ups and downs of life, sending love to you all.

Blossoming Tue 27-Feb-24 23:00:28

Hope you and your DH enjoy your break NannyG4

Nannytopsy Wed 28-Feb-24 08:12:28

Good morning to the kitchen from Madeira! We left on Monday morning after a busy few days at home. I wasn’t able to concentrate on my packing and there are a few things I wished I had bought.
There has been some sunshine but it’s warm and dry!!
You have all been busy - it’s taken ages to catch up.
Love to MrS and you all.

Jaxjacky Wed 28-Feb-24 08:22:19

Morning Nannytopsy Madeira sounds rather lovely, have a good break.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 28-Feb-24 15:34:10

Hello kitchen people. I hope Mr Soop is feeling better!
I had my final stained glass class this morning. I finished off my second item - a square hanging ornament, which I think will go in the downstairs loo. Actually, it’s not quite finished yet as I have to leave it overnight and tomorrow scrub away all the excess cement. I would love to do another course, but not until September. I am doing quite a few study days locally and in London after Easter. It is nice to have some days free.
OH has gone to collect our medication from the Health Centre. We order it on line and subsequently receive a text message letting us know it’s ready for collection. But, from April they won’t have the finance for texting so we will have to allow 7 working days and hopefully it will be ready. It’s a short drive for us but we won’t want to drive there for nothing. Talking about the NHS. A friend of mine who is in constant pain from her hip has to wait two weeks for a telephone consultation with a physio…
Have a good rest of the afternoon and evening. OH will cook dinner and then we’ll watch the final of the Landscape Artist of the Year.

Blossoming Wed 28-Feb-24 17:56:22

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It’s been another cold and drizzly day, so we have been safe and warm at home.

Hope the bug doesn’t stick around Grandmabatty.

Have a lovely time in Madeira NannyTopsy.

I remember how hectic life was with 2 Burmese kittens SueDonim, I swear they were bouncing off the walls 24/7! MrB said “Don’t their batteries ever run out?” grin

Stained glass sounds interesting LadyLFL, you seem to have quite a flair for design and the arts.

I’m feeling a bit better, I haven’t eaten very much but
MrB is making sure I eat something! Another lazy day reading and a little essential admin.

Have a good evening everyone and a restful night.

Jaxjacky Wed 28-Feb-24 18:21:18

A drizzly afternoon with no sunshine all day.
I do hope we can see your artwork llfl please.
I hope NannyG4 is packed for the off and Nannytopsy has had a lovely day.
Doing ‘not a lot* is now doing a little, progress.

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Feb-24 18:44:34

Good evening Kitcheners. Blossoming* the bug is more annoying than debilitating. I cough a lot. Nannytopsy Madeira always sounds wonderful. I hope you are having a good time.
I've been to the hospital for my diabetic eye test and I suspect I'll hear bad news. When she did the vision test, my right eye was completely blurred with double vision. It still is. Fortunately I have an eye test at the opticians on Sunday although I hope it clears before then. I also had a haircut this morning. My hairdresser is a lovely man and gives me a freebie each time. I think he feels sorry for me 😊 I hope Soop and Mr Soop are ok. Macaroni cheese for dinner and an early bed. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

Blossoming Wed 28-Feb-24 19:09:08

Glad you’re progressing Jax, slow progress is real progress.

Coughing and disturbed sleep are debilitating GandmaB. Sorry to hear the eye tests were disappointing, hope the optician appointment goes better. My eye has recovered from the jab last week and I have an appointment for next Wednesday for a review.

brook2704 Wed 28-Feb-24 22:10:08

Good evening, kitchen pals, it’s been a busy but enjoyable day here in Inverness.

Enjoy Madeira nannytopsy, it’s still on my list but haven’t managed to get there yet

Hoping your vision improves grandmabatty it’s good that you’ve got your opticians appointment at the weekend for another check.

DGD is here for her sleepover, I think she’s eventually gone to sleep, she’s been really good but just doesn’t seem tired at all - not like me!
Tomorrow after dropping her off at school, I’ll be coming back home and then off out again to the airport to visit DD1 in Cambridge. I’m looking forward to seeing her and especially my two DGSs who lived down there. I still haven’t got the youngest one his birthday present for Sunday yet, I’m not sure what he’s into just now, so it’ll be a trip out to the shops on Friday or last-minute purchase from Amazon!

Good to hear you’re feeling a bit better Blossoming and you’re making slow, but steady progress Jax

Blossoming Thu 29-Feb-24 16:48:23

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It’s been a cloudy dry day with a little watery sunshine every now and then.

We have been to Lytham for some bracing sea breeze, then bimbled home along quiet country lanes, calling in at the farm shop for some of their Angus steak burgers and lovely farmhouse bread. They had some nice leaks so soup will be made tomorrow. It was nice to get out 😊

It’s quiet in here today, I hope I haven’t scared you all away!

Have a good evening everyone and a restful night. 💤

Urmstongran Thu 29-Feb-24 16:52:15

Delighted to hear you’ve had a day out Blossoming. Well deserved and the run out and scenery will have lifted your spirits. I ❤️ Lytham too. Ages since we’ve been and not likely any time soon.

Urmstongran Thu 29-Feb-24 16:53:51

Apologies. That came over a bit ‘sorry-for-me’.
Unintended.

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Feb-24 16:54:28

Good afternoon kitcheners. Blossoming that sounds like a trip. I like Lytham very much, although I haven't been there for years. Art class this morning and the last for a while. I have attached another dancer. I like this one. I've had a fairly quiet afternoon. A Tesco delivery then watching cookery programmes. Tonight I fancy chicken salad and crusty bread and double Gloucester cheese. With a glass of something. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Yiayia4 Thu 29-Feb-24 17:18:55

Get well soon Mr Soop and Grandmabatty.
What a miserable day here, non stop rain and feeling cold, roll on spring. The picture is our view SueD.Looking forward to the spring scenes next.
DH has had a a few more meds added so hopefully will sort him out although, he is still coughing.

Have a lovely time in Madeira Nannytopsy
Glad you had a nice day Blossoming.
Enjoy your evening everyone.

brook2704 Thu 29-Feb-24 18:25:00

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it was a very windy start to the day in Inverness, the flight to Cambridge was a bit bumpy for the first few minutes! I arrived safely mid afternoon, its very wet and grey here but I got a lovely warm welcome from DD1 and family- a hug, hot cross buns and a cup of tea!
I also remember Lytham Blossoming and spent many a happy day there years ago - precious family memories
We’re just back from picking up the 2 DGSs from after school club, they’re now chilling out in front of the tv whilst DD1 is making something that smells really nice in the kitchen
Hoping your DH improves a bit soon Yia
You’re very talented grandmabatty your ballerina drawing is very good
Urms sending warm hugs and 💐

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Feb-24 18:41:23

Glad you arrived safely Brook. You've put me in the mood for a hot cross bun now!

Blossoming Thu 29-Feb-24 18:47:31

Urmstongran

Apologies. That came over a bit ‘sorry-for-me’.

Not at all Urms, just telling it like it is x

NannyG4 Thu 29-Feb-24 21:12:58

Good Evening....
Away in New Forest at the moment for DH's birthday and the weather is rotten but we've made the most if it, just been for a lovely Italian!! How everything looks so much better in the sunshine!! Hopefully a better day weather wise tomorrow.....

Thinking and praying for all those who are struggling with life at present....

Much love 💕💕....

Grannmarie Fri 01-Mar-24 15:17:56

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰

Thinking of the Soops, Blossoming, Jaxjacky, Grandmabatty and anyone else feeling a bit under the weather, hoping and praying that things improve soon. Good luck for the opticians on Sunday, Grandmabatty.

I hope brook, Nannytopsy, nannyG4 and all on their travels are having a wonderful time, catching up with family and friends and/ or enjoying new places. DH and I have a wee break planned for Perthshire later in the month, but nothing booked for sunnier climes yet.

The kittens sound so cute, SueD, they'll keep you busy! I'm popping out soon to visit and feed DSIS2's cat. She's away today and he likes his routine. I make myself a cup of tea and sit and stroke him for a while, it does us both a power of good!

What a wonderful view, YiaYia, it will be nice to watch it change with the seasons. I hope your DH'S cough improves. Thinking of all who are worried about loved ones.

My plasterer has finished the jobs, inside and out, nice tidy work and reasonable too, something else to ✅ off the list. I managed to finish all the ironing too!

TOYA, wishing everyone the best possible Friday.

Grandmabatty Fri 01-Mar-24 15:30:04

Good afternoon kitcheners. Thank you Grannmarie. I'm a bit unwell with coughing but rest is helping. Dgs2 is quite unwell and may be heading to hospital later. The GP is phoning the hospital for advice. So I won't be on here much

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Mar-24 16:17:45

Oh dear Grandmabatty fingers crossed your grandson gets swift treatment wherever it is.
NannyG4 I’ll apologise for the weather, we live about an hour away and were due to stay in the NF tonight for my birthday today, I hope you’ve found shelter from the showers. Any plans we had for have been cancelled due to kneegate, an Indian meal will be delivered later.
Sounds like a good job done Grannmarie will the decorators be in when the plaster has dried out?
How are you progressing SueD with your house recovery?
Fingers crossed that cough is going from your husband Yia, it’s so wearing.
Sun and hefty showers earlier, it’s been cool too, visits from friends have passed the day.
My thoughts as always are with Urms and you Baggs.

Grandmabatty Fri 01-Mar-24 16:22:22

Dgs2 is on his way to the Sick Kids in Glasgow with mum and dad. I have dgs1 for a sleepover
