Grandmabatty

Dgs2 is on his way to the Sick Kids in Glasgow with mum and dad. I have dgs1 for a sleepover

Oh, Grandmabatty, I'm sorry to hear that, but it's the best place, they'll look after him well. They were great when the Wee Boy jumped off the sofa and damaged a wee bone in his foot. Hoping and praying that your wee DGS2 recovers quickly, thinking of you, his mum and dad and DGS1. It's good that he's used to enjoying sleepovers at your house. 💕🙏

Hi, Jaxjacky, many happy returns of the day 💐, sorry you're missing your wee break in the NF. Hope your knee is continuing to improve. Yes I'll be getting in touch with my sister's decorator soon. It'll be the first time DH and I haven't done the decorating together....ages and stages. He used to paper and paint for family and friends too.
🎵You don't know what you've got till it's gone. 🎶

Oh my goodness grandmabatty hoping your youngest DGS recovers quickly and is home again soon 💐

brook2704 Fri 01-Mar-24 16:56:37

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jax hope you’re having a lovely day and enjoy your Indian meal later 🎂🎉🍷🥂
Hoping you can get away to the New Forest before too long for more birthday celebrations!

gillgran Fri 01-Mar-24 17:25:47

Grandmabatty, sorry to hear your grandson is so poorly, hopefully he will get all the help he needs. Take care of yourself too.

Thinking of all our travellers, hope they are enjoying holiday & family times.
brook, we should have been in Cambridge this Sunday but think it's the half-marathon, so road closures, hope this won't affect your DGS's birthday celebrations.

Happy Birthday Jaxjacky, enjoy your special day. cupcake wine

I'm hoping Mr&MrsSoop are on the road to recovery. flowers

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Goodness, I’m really sorry to hear that your little grandson is so poorly Grandmabatty, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Progress is being made there Grannmarie, it’s good to cross things off your list.

Happy birthday Jax, enjoy your meal tonight.

Hope you’re enjoying your Cambridge visit Brook.

It’s been wild, wet and windy here, a perfect day for staying home and getting on with the Swedish Death Clean. I cannot believe how much rubbish we kept, just why?? I also found my journal from 2017 which started off full of hope and energy, then went downhill. The entry for the day I got my cancer diagnosis has shaken me up a little, but it gets better after my surgery. I will read the full journal another time. Still a lot more to do but I’ve made a good start.

Thinking of Soop, Urms and Baggs as always flowers

Have a good evening everyone and a good night. 💤

Hello everyone. Another day in the life of the Kitchen has brought both happiness and worry with all stops in between.

A happy birthday jax, a takeaway sounds good, I’m sure you’ll make it to the New Forest soon. I’m sorry you’ve so much worry grandmab, love to you all.

Say hello to Cambridge for us Brook, with luck we’ll be there in April.

It’s our 55th wedding anniversary today. Our wanders, not to be deterred by the inevitability of hailstones and rain, took us to Gloucester where we enjoyed lunch in Cote. Mr C reminded me it snowed (hard!) on our wedding day, a bit of rain should be no problem. I reminded him we were younger than grin.

We’ve decided we’ll have an anniversary weekend. Will wander some more tomorrow and have a table booked for Sunday lunch. As a friend tells her partner when he objects to something ‘we deserve it’ smile.

Get well wishes to all poorlies, hope tomorrow brings a smile for us all.

Grandmabatty fingers crossed all goes well. flowers

Oh how frightening, GMbatty! I will be hoping there is better news for you very soon, as I am sure all Kitcheners will be wishing for you. flowers
Congratulations, Cornergran! 💐
I’m envious of your view, Yia. I could send a photo of the wall of the house opposite, which is my view from one window. grin
Hope you’re having fun in Cambridge, Brook.
Jaxjacky thank you for asking. The reinstatement is going v.e.e.r.r.r.y s.l.o.o.o.w.l.y. A man phoned on Weds to book in a survey in ten days time. I told him they’d already done a survey. He said ‘Have we? I’ll look at your notes. Oh yes, our Steve came out to you. Oh well, we’ll just book another survey in anyway.’ 🤷‍♀️ I spoke to a woman in a group I go to who was also flooded. Exactly the same there, duplicated visits, non-return of phone calls and all the rest. 🙄 So, we just plough on, really.

It’s been a busy few days again, the kind where you don’t think you’ve much on but suddenly the days fill up. Both our local GC have now met the new kitten - they are agog at TWO baby cats! 🩷💙 The newer kitten is a bit more settled but feeding her is an issue. She gets distracted/disturbed very easily so No 1 has to be removed from the scene while she eats. She’s lost some weight I think, so I’ve been hand feeding her. She’s becoming very cuddly, though and comes over to snuggle up on me. And then bite me. 😂

Yesterday I went on a snowdrop walk with friends at a nearby castle. It was a rather windy, cool day but it was sunny and the breeze blew the cobwebs away. Yesterday was also the day that my son began his new treatment. We have all been on edge about it, of course, but so far he seems ok. He has some nausea but it’s under control. Thank goodness for the internet because his siblings and us, too, have been keeping him entertained with bits of chatter and gossip, photos, jokes etc.

My 96yo mother is in hospital at the moment. She lives alone with carers coming in but they decided she needed more attention. She says she has a kidney stone although she seemed a bit confused about things (she doesn’t have dementia, though) and about her medicines so next time I visit I’ll try and speak to a nurse.

TOYA. Xxx

Wishing your son well as he begins his new treatment, SueD, also hoping that your Mum is more comfortable now in hospital.

Hello, Gillgran, I hope you get your Cambridge break soon.

Well, I made a fuss of DSis2's cat, he sat on my lap for a while and enjoyed the attention.

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Mar-24 21:20:46

Thank you Grannmarie, we're only an hours drive from Cambridge & our DD & family live there, so we are lucky to visit often.

Hoping for a dryer spell of weather soon, we're very soggy here!

Thinking of all the poorly folk & their families. x

Just been having a catch-up. I don’t post often but I wanted to send you best wishes for you and your GS Grandmabatty. I’m hoping he’s out of theatre now, and that all is well.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 01-Mar-24 22:25:50

What beautiful kittens SueD! We had one that colour years ago. We called her Bluey.

annsixty Fri 01-Mar-24 22:46:44

Beautiful kittens SueD
My cat now 5 years old is such an important part of my life, I think you will have years of love and friendship.
Grandmabatty my thoughts and prayers are with your DGS and his loved ones .
I hope for good news tomorrow.
Just back from a meal in our local Turkish restaurant, it was ok but we are finding eating out increasingly expensive.
It was also incredibly noisy, I am getting old and crotchety.
Have the best night you can everyone.

mamaa Fri 01-Mar-24 22:55:48

Sending hugs to Grandmabatty hope your grandson is soon up and fighting fit for your walks and den building escapades. We never stop worrying do we for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. xx

Grandmabatty Sat 02-Mar-24 06:57:44

Thank you all for your kind words. Dgs2 had his operation in the early hours of the morning. It went well. His testicle was twisted so she sorted that, removed a cyst for testing, although doesn't think it is sinister and drained excess fluid. I'm hoping he and dd managed to get some sleep.
