Thank you Grannmarie. He fell asleep at four after morphine so I expect he's in quite a bit of pain, wee scone. Dd has dozed but will be shattered, I'm sure.

Good morning all.
Another one here who hoped there was better news this morning of Grandmabatty’s GS.
It sounds as if he is ok and hope that continues and he is soon home, but what a shock and worry for all.

A damp and chilly start to the day here in Stockport, my social activities continue tonight as my GD and I are going to a family friend’s 60th birthday party.
I shall stay just a little bit longer than is polite but that will be fine by them.

Huge excitement here as my GD picked up her first car last evening, she is out in it already!!

I saw your other post on the GM thread grandmabatty but just had to stay on here too that I’m so pleased everything went okay with your DGS, he was the first person I thought about this morning

DGSs are just in between swimming and football classes, Im sat looking after numerous bags, shoes and coats !

Thank you to everyone sending continuing kind thoughts after the death of BTDD. There are good days and bad days grief-wise, always a massive hole in our lives that will remain, but also some relief that the last few awful weeks of her life ended in peace. 🕊️

We have had a couple of buggeration days.
Mr Soop had an appointment with the specialist who has been treating his scalp. He has referred Mr Soop for an urgent procedure in a Glasgow hospital. He has a form of skin cancer. The growths will be removed and he's to have a skin graft.

Yesterday, I was in Tarbert and popped into the pharmacy to ask the pharmacist's opinion on my badly swollen leg. She said that I was to phone the GP. He invited us to call into the surgery early afternoon. He then phoned A&E and I was sent for a special blood test. Bloods show a raised marker which may mean that I have a blood clot. We were in the ward for over two hours. The staff were wonderful. I'm to have a scan early on Tuesday morning. I was lucky to have an appointment made for me as the unit only visits fortnightly. Had I not been slotted on to the list, we would have had to travel to Oban hospital. I am now taking blood thinners Apixaban and need to carry a card . All this because I consulted the pharmacist.
So...we continue to care for each other and soldier on. It's what you do.

Good afternoon kitcheners. Dear Soop and MrSoop you are in my thoughts too. His head looks so sore. Thank you all for your words, thoughts and prayers for dgs2. He's on his way home now. I do wonder if this has been the issue all along. It was an emergency operation because testicle torsion can cause gangrene and the wee soul had a temperature yesterday. Anyway his big brother has been a very good boy. We went to Tesco for a present for dgs2 and naturally dgs1 got something too. I'm waiting for the text then I'll take him home. And a quiet time ahead for me! Beef olives and mash for dinner.

Oh dear Soop what a catalogue of misfortune, I hope it all soon resolves for you both.
As they say old age certainly isn’t for wimps.
I had a similar problem with my leg a few years ago.
Pain, heat and swelling.
I was sent straight to hospital and spent several hours there.
I had tests ,XRays and was given an injection into my stomach and back the next day for another one as it was the weekend.
On Monday I had a scan and found out it was a ruptured Baker’s cyst, so panic over for me, but it was a worrying time.
I hope you get a diagnosis and treatment quickly and you DH gets his op very soon.

So pleased for you all Grandmabatty and hope now he will be fine.

soop you just triggered a memory. Years ago, I too had the same raised marker (D-dimer) indicating a DVT. I was in A&E and shown how to inject into my belly for a week. It was impressed upon me how important it was for me to inject at EXACTLY the same time every day - I remember the nurse who was showing me saying ‘so 5pm then’. Okay.

The next day (a Saturday so off work) Himself suggested we cross over the road to get a train into Manchester City centre for the afternoon for a wander and drinks. “I can’t” said I timidly (I’m such a mouse when it comes to any health related instructions) “I’ve got to do my injection at 5pm”.

Himself (a more robust individual) said cavalierly “well bring it with you”.

So sorry to hear your both in the wars Soop,let’s hope you get treatment as soon as possible.

It’s cold with sleet and rain here and the Thames is very high,it must be such a worry for people living by the river.
DH continues to cough all his tests have come back fine but, it could be long covid!Its exhausting for us both as it’s night after night of broken sleep.Hopefully it will improve soon.

What a relief for your dgs to be on his way home, GMbatty. I hope the wee poppet is feeling comfortable and everyone has a good night’s sleep tonight. Kudos to his GP for spotting the problem and acting quickly. A friend’s teenage son lost a testicle when the hospital prevaricated - ‘You must have bruised it riding your bike/played football/climbed a tree’ etc. As you say, gangrene is the big bogey man. They sued the hospital and he was awarded a considerable sum of money to put aside for the possibility of needing fertility treatment at a later date.

Oh Soop you and MrS are in the wars. I’m glad youve had good treatment and that MrS’s doctor is onto his case.

I hope MrJ recovers from his cough soon, Jax. You must both be exhausted with broken nights.

Urms as a Type 1 diabetic for almost 40years I am used to “shooting up” as you put it in all sorts of places. Now I don’t bother looking for somewhere to go to inject I just do it discreetly wherever I happen to be. Improvements to methods make this possible. Gbatty glad your Gs2 is back home after prompt treatment. Soops your DH’s scalp looks so sore. You certainly go through the wars. Today when picking up my prescription I mentioned to the pharmacist that I thought I had an eye infection she looked at it and said I can give you something for that on prescription! Isn’t this Pharmacy First system wonderful!,!

Urms No problem with what you said I am not offended at all! Sorry if I gave that impression. It is something I do four times a day without any thought now. The alternative is not great 🤣

So sorry to read of the Soops’s ongoing problems though glad they are being taken seriously and hoping for good outcomes. Life just gets harder as we get older and at times if feels as if it is all too much.
