My fact of the day is that despite their songs only one of the Beach Boys actually surfed.

Loving all these. Mine is below courtesy of NASA:

The position of Earth's magnetic north pole was first precisely located in 1831. Since then, it's gradually drifted north-northwest by more than 600 miles (1,100 kilometers), and its forward speed has increased from about 10 miles (16 kilometers) per year to about 34 miles (55 kilometers) per year.

I believe it's currently heading towards Greenland or at least it was the last time I looked

Are you my DH?

On this day in 1983 CDs were made available for the first time. They have come and gone at least for the younger generation. We still play them.

I love obscure facts, but can't remember them, except in quizzes. If I give the first thing that comes into my head without thinking, it's usually correct. If I think about it I'm lost. The only fact I can think of today is - Cats noseprints are as unique as human fingerprints. Might be useful if the police are looking for a cat burglar!

Not the last time I looked #Callistemon21. Here's another one he may be interested in from a friend of mine who is an environmental consultant.

Excessive groundwater extraction by humans over the period of 1993 to 2010 has caused a shift and displacement of approximately 31.5 inches in the Earth's rotational pole, according to a new study published in the Journal of Geophysical Research Letters. Through the extraction of roughly 2,000 gigatonnes of groundwater in this period, the shift has resulted in the Earth tilting by about 80 centimeters.

It was reported in the Journal of Geophysical Research letters.Excessive groundwater extraction by humans over the period of 1993 to 2010 has caused a shift and displacement of approximately 31.5 inches in the Earth's rotational pole, according to a new study published in the Journal of Geophysical Research Letters. Fascinating stuff. I admit I'm a saddo!

Apologies for the huge post. Thought I'd deleted some of it.

In 50 million years Earth will not exist as the Sun will totally burn us up. All history will not exist.

No-one knows what Albert Einstein’s last words were as, on his deathbed, he reverted to speaking in German, but his nurse did not speak the language.

Surely history cannot be deleted?

It happened, even if none of the reality still exists.

Yes, it would have happened. I guess the concept is that should the world start again from the beginning, but with humans (not all the stuff before!) there would be no physical proof.

Camels do not store water in their hump despite Joanna Lumley telling us that in the last programme of her " spice trail " on TV. They store fat in their hump and water in their bloodstream .
