The quote about Trump saying the Republicans were stupid enough to vote for him has been proven to be "Fake News". It swirled around on the internet passed from post to post until it was shared so many times, readers believed it to be true. It's not true.

I believe that a good leader should also be a role model for our young populations and children; someone of good moral character who cares about the path to the future that they are paving for others to follow after they are long gone. What ever happened to sound mind and moral character as a requirement to being a qualified leader? As a parent, I would not like my young daughters looking up to a man that says he can do anything he wants to woman, because he is a star.

Trump is a cult leader, a narcissist, a rapist and a delusional being with a huge ego. His rhetoric and lies remind me of the types of men that become dictators via. the votes from their brain-washed followers that can no longer decipher good character and sound mind from bad character and demented mind. He may have made great business decisions in his younger life but now he has lost his ability to think past his own agenda and believes he is royalty. I'm hoping for a miracle. Any one but Trump. At least Kamala seems sane. I am currently stuck in the U.S..

I must watch it.

I listened to the first part and I think it will do him a great deal of good. It was a positive speech that attacked Trump without actually saying his name. It was going down very well!

Trying to overturn Obama care, allowing States to ban abortions, people with US citizen but born abroad barred from returning, the whole Mexican Wall rubbish, mocking a disabled journalist, denying Covid then putting forward the most ridiculous solutions! Why ANYONE in their right right mind would ever vote for him us utterly beyond me!

He cannot even manage his own personal fortune, let alone a country’s finances!

People purport to be at least one or more of the above. I kind of get the feel of GN nation and it pleases me.

California, Washington State, Oregon, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Vermont are historically democratic.

I have listened to several interviews of Kennedy and he has definitely some very wise initiatives.

Biden stepped on his toes for the Democratic ballot and that is when Kennedy changed to an Independent Format Party.

Many young people will not vote for Trump and neither will the gay population nor women in states that do not provide legal abortions.

The Mexicans that can vote shall not vote for Trump as he detests Latin Americans. Trump is an enormous racist.

He has stated he wants to deport all Muslims and Latin Americans that are studying or put in Asylum Documents.

Germanshepherdsmum.I watched it too and it was great. But I also watched and listened to the piece afterwards (about 15 mins -maybe 20) where if you really focused you can hear people talking to him afterwards and how he replies.

He seemed pretty good then too, to me.

Now that I didn’t see. Fingers crossed for him, though I fear both he and Trump are too old to be embarking on another term.

I agree that they are both too old. Apart from the obvious concerns about a Trump triumph which have been discussed at length on this thread, if he gets back in he will be getting revenge for not being re-elected last time. The Republican party need to sort themselves out, it is all very well bypassing your moral code in order to gain power, but surely even the most right wing fundamental Republican must realise that a Trump victory will make the USA a laughing stock? Who is going to take that maniac seriously?

Although Biden is showing his age, I fondly imagine he has some competent advisers around him. I doubt that Trump, however, would ever take advice from anyone. He’s a dangerous lone wolf.

Did you actually watch it ? Biden had many off the cuff remarks he made after being taunted by far right republicans that proved his ability to think quickly and answer forcefully. It was a State of the Union address. There are no questions after that.

I wish it wasn't going to be a Biden/Trump race as Biden is too old (not being ageist but the position needs a younger man as it's punishing job) and Trump, apart from also being too old, is totally unsuitable. However, sadly a very large number of Americans are very isolationist, they don't see why the US should pay to keep the rest of the world safe. Let's be honest, they only came into the last war because Japan bombed Pearl Harbour, there was huge opposition to America becoming involved and since then the US has not succeeded in their bid to protect the world from communists and the axis of evil. Biden needs voters to feel that they are better off under him than under a Trump presidency, that's how he'll win.

FYI Germanshepherdsmum No President would ever go into the State of Union address without a written, prepared and even rehearsed speech on the teleprompter. It is THE speech of the year! They start working on it weeks in advance to layout their record, accomplishments and future of the party they represent. For Biden this was also the kickoff for his national campaign for November.

It’s not a news conference where you speak extemporaneously and take questions from the media afterwards.

I am totally impressed by all the GN’ters who stay informed and are following our election cycle this year. You are very informed and up to speed on what is happening, because the outcome will have global ramifications. It will be either a good or not so good outcome - possibly even the last free election for my country. That IS what we are up against this time.

Biden has done pretty well ‘off the cuff’ ..he has a problem with Public Speaking in that his stutter sometimes makes seem less sharp than he is. Trump reads from a Teleprompter too, but tho a polished Snake-oil Salesman, when he goes ‘off piste’ he says the most weird and disturbing things…Biden ‘off piste’ is sharp and to the point, often slow, but weighing his answers carefully, with his stutter more predominant under those circumstances giving the appearance of old and not understanding…. Trump just LOOKS better, until you try to understand what he has said!…or gasp at his idiocy!
