Fish on Good Friday, and hot cross buns. A solemn church service in the afternoon. On Sunday we will go to church in the morning and have a roast dinner. DS2 and family are coming on Monday to help eat the giant 9lb Easter egg I have won in a local competition.

Yes, all family I hope will come to church, especially as I done the Easter Garden in the porch and our flower team have made a great effort decorating birthday church for Eadter Sunday.27 of us for lunch at my sister in laws, I'm doing the roast potatoes..! 7 kids and 20 adults, 70+ yr old to 25 Yr old age range and kids , young babies to 11 Yr old!

Memories. Growing up with many traditions for Holy Week and Easter - a new dress each year and hats, church, coloring eggs, baking, chocolates, tulips, ham dinner on Easter Sunday with family. Spring a time for renewal.

Now, still meaningful, but I’m with friends for Easter brunch as family lives in another state.

I live in Spain where Easter is always celebrated as it’s mainly a catholic country. We watched The holy procession which takes around 5 hours starting at 7pm on Good Friday and is amazing. As many as 50 men carry just one icon (and there are so many of them). Little children dressed up and giving out sweets to the crowd and the bands with the slow beating of the drum so melancholy. It was a sight to behold.
