Just had to cancel an appointment at the vets because we’re surrounded by floods. The trains going up to Edinburgh are crawling along.

The weather always has a habit of balancing out though doesn’t it?
Up and down the country we’ve all had a lot of rain over the past months, but I’m sure we will get a prolonged dry, sunny spell at some point, when no doubt we will all be wishing for rain for our poor parched gardens!

Another joyous day of wind, dark clouds and rain, filthy muddy spaniel, how much bloody longer is this going on for?

A priest in Wexford, Ireland, held a mass yesterday for better weather, here’s hoping.

I don’t wish to gloat, but I landed in Perth from the uk,on 9th February and the sun has shone everyday since! Everywhere is very parched and we are desperate for rain but I hope it has stopped raining in the uk when I get home early next month! I love the sunshine!

Cold, wet and very windy here. Yuk. but going up to 23 at the weekend! Sat outside drawing and eating last week in hot sun. Crazy and worrying. The local large lake has seriously low water level. Musn't grumble.

i have my CH set to maintain a temperature of 18 degrees night and day. It hasn't been needed recently but this morning I woke up to hear the boiler working to heat up the radiators. I live in Berkshire.

Yep - this Spring has exactly matched the 'temperate maritime' climate pattern we were taught in school in the early 60's.

I think the Met Office makes the forecasts etc up - I'm sure they just have lumps of seaweed hanging out of their windows. We always expect the opposite of what they say!

Well, it is not hot here in the south of Denmark either, nor has it been at any time during March. Rain, rain, rain, more rain and gale force winds and so cold, although admittedly it hasn't snowed, as it can do in April, nor has the temperature been below freezing since the start of March.

Bristol/Bath area. Lots of sun in March, so the house is very warm, but hat, scarf and gloves needed the minute you step outside. Consider myself very lucky as no local flooding.

Oh I have to disagree with that meddijess. I think that nowadays the forecasts are pretty accurate down to the hour that it will rain harder!

All the rain and damp plays havoc with my chest.

Chucking it down in Yorkshire this afternoon and feels cold even though it says 8c.

In rural Staffordshire/Shropshire border it feels like it’s been raining and windy forever. We get a glimpse of blue sky and sunshine then it changes again. We still have the heating on all day set at 19degs which is more economical than on and off at set times and we’re still lighting the log burner in the evenings.
Check out weather manipulation/geo-engineering. This isn’t normal. Look at the beautiful summer we had in lockdown.

Here in N Yorkshire it's wet and cold. Went walking yesterday and got soaked. The weather app said 'feels like 1 degree'. At least I was able to wash the mud off my boots in all the puddles.

Cold and wet here in the north east of Scotland but I wouldn’t swop places with you Bluesmum. The heat and brightness affects me negatively, we’re all different!

The espalier pears on my balcony are, sadly, already flowering in all this wind and rain so I'm guessing that we'll have no fruit this year.

Robin22 I agree, something is 'off', and there have been reports of cloud seeding. In all my days (and there are many of them!!) I haven't known anything like this. Yes, the British weather is variable but here in Gloucestershire I think we have had at least some moisture falling from above every day since November. I do not necessarily believe all the stuff about man-made climate change either. Yes, there is climate change, there always has been, but there are sources (sorry, can't quote them, but look through Youtube and you'll find your own) that show graphs displaying data that proves it was hotter in the 1930s, not to mention in Roman times, when vines were grown in Northumbria. Being called a 'climate change denier' is akin to heresy these days, and there are scientists who have lost their reputation, livelihood and maybe more through coming out and saying such things. Why would so many (and there are plenty) do that unless they believed it and had data to back it up? What makes me most suspicious is the lack of debate - effectively no free speech on this issue and the media all parroting the same stuff. My only plea is - ask questions!

Thank you, Undine (apt name) and Robin22, for these thoughts. I have sympathy with the notion that climate variation is caused by factors way beyond human influence. 'Oh what a puny thing is man' to suppose that these changes are our doing.

Had rain, wind, cold and snow last week. I'll take a lot of convincing about all that supposed heat.
