Good morning from Malta where we expect a fine start to the day but becoming hazy due to fine desert sand. More mess to clean up then!

I’m just about to get up and start my weekly jobs around the house. I’m usually too tired when I get home from my days with the boys so don’t feel much like housework.

By 1.30 I hope to have everything done so I can sit and enjoy the tennis semi-finals from Monte Carlo.

I had a quiet day yesterday, finishing a leaf appliquéd cushion.
The tulips outside my flat are looking lovely, my neighbour is enjoying them…
Today, I’m serving coffee in church so made some lemon drizzle cupcakes, they’re a little over done, but delicious when I tested one 😄
I hope the slightly improved, warmer weather gives everyone an emotional lift.

Good morning from the Essex coast where we are due a sunny day.
I'm up early as I'm off to London to meet up with my girls for afternoon tea at The Grosvenor Hotel, a belated birthday present from them for my 70th last year.
I discovered late last night that there are engineering works on my trainline, so I've had to change my travel plans. DH will drive me to a different line and pick me up this evening. Such a shame as our local station is literally two minutes walk from where we live.
Nevermind we will have a fabulous day, I love spending time with my girls.

What a turnaround for me. I am restored and am dressed and raring to go. I have spent the whole time working on my gut/brain health and have seen miraculous results.

I have a list ready for the shops, mostly vegetable shopping and I need to tidy in the house, not dirty just messy because I put things down rather than away. I have seedlings to pot on and my new restored serviced vintage bernina arrived. I forgot how heavy they are, 20 kg. Probably I will need to keep this on the dining table. However I will be able to lovingly stroke her and admire her mechanicals on a daily basis. I love old mechanical things

So the day starts and my gut bacteria are now the happy ones again

Mother of the Groom outfit woes...
I'm not a dress wearer at all so was really chuffed to find one that was inexpensive but makes me feel lovely. Problem is I see how other ladies spend up to £1000 on theirs and have started to second guess my choice. It's taking over my life browsing dresses that I hate but wondering if I should get something more traditional. Mine is this, in the navy which I will wear with nude and rose gold accessories. Does this look acceptable?

We’re here to see my DGD dancing as one of the fairies in The Sleeping Beauty with The English Youth Ballet this evening at the Regent Theatre in Hanley. She’s 11 and this is the second time she has had this wonderful opportunity, having been in Swan Lake two years ago. We are both excited to be seeing her participate.

Good morning from a bright South Downs.

Yesterday was absolutely glorious and reached the heady height of 20c. We walked around Knepp, where I channelled my inner Bob Mortimer and spent as much time rolling on the ground (the slippery mud was incredible) as I did upright! But my goodness it was bliss to have such warm sun, peace and quiet.

Today I have to spend some time cleaning my walking boots and my clothes.

I also hope to finish the little waterfall area and place in the water plants, gravel etc. I will then start to prune Madame Alfred Carriere - a rampant climber - good if you have a large area to cover which is also a little shady.

When we lose a pet we always dedicate a particular plant/flower to their memory - so in our Westie’s case -Thomas - he died on the 8th February 2009 and snowdrops were out so he has a little area of snowdrops. In Duncan’s case my favourite flower - primroses are out - 8th April x so I need to decide where to dedicate them to Duncan in the garden along with a charming “Duncan” garden ornament - it is so well done that when we first put it into the garden the real Duncan pranced towards it thinking it was a real Cairn!

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks like a fine day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

Off along two motorways today with a breakfast stop at a handily places garden centre, Mr C will be happy. A visit to our son and his daughters plus a boyfriend will cheer me up after what will be a difficult visit to my parents grave. In spite of the best efforts of all involved their area of the cemetery continues to flood after prolonged rain. It has apparently dried for now, we’ll go armed with cleaning materials, remove the mud, change silk flowers and try to restore order.

Sounds a lovely day ahead sar, safe travels pantglas, more than happy to swap some rain for sun.

Good morning from my patio in Cornwall where there's a lovely breeze. It's cloudy with sun forecast later. One of my apple trees in a tub is flowering and a self-seeded great mullein plant looks ready to take over in one corner, competing with my Bowles mint, which although it's a real thug is one of my favourite plants. The scent is lovely.

My photographer son had the privilege of recording the preparations for a horse-drawn funeral cortege yesterday, a very unusual job. The black horses looked magnificent with their polished hooves.

My slime-loving granddaughter will be arriving later for a day of play yippee.

Yesterday dd and dgs1 came round. He proudly presented me with a parrot fridge magnet from Tenerife. I think that's going to be his thing as he brought me a hen magnet from Portugal. He seems to have grown up more in a week.
Today I have a full day art workshop on life drawing. I'm not very good and don't think I'm improving at life drawing,so I think this'll be my last attempt. It's a long day, so I've prepared dinner - trout fillet with salad. Have a lovely day all.

Good morning from the hillside in south Glos where it’s cloudy - I don’t think rain is forecast. My greenhouse gets removed today, I started sorting through the accumulated bits and pieces yesterday and deciding what I want to keep. It was so lovely being out in the sunshine.
I haven’t heard when the shed and summerhouse are arriving, supposedly it’s 2-3 weeks from ordering so I could have another 2 weeks to wait. I’m not feeling particularly patient!

Good morning everyone from a rather cloudy and overcast Northampton, but a fine sunny day is forecast. May find another load of washing.

Enjoyed my dance classes yesterday, then walked round to my friend's after lunch to exchange birthday presents; both of us have birthdays next week. Had a long chat and a nice glass of wine , then decided to get the bus home.

Shopping this morning, pick up some Euros for my holiday, then may cut the back grass after lunch.

And tonight is the big match, the quarter final of the Rugby European Cup; a home match against a South African (don't ask!) side, so the ground will be busy and a brilliant atmosphere. It is on tv, so watch out for me behind the goalposts!

MrOops will sort out the secondary fencing barrier today so that when the dog comes tomorrow she can’t get behind the hedge to get to the real fencing and try to dig her way through to the dog next door. What a pain…

Good. Morning all from N Bucks where it is very still. Yesterday was a beautiful day here, the temperature hit 20C and there was much activity in all the gardens around me!
It’s been a disturbed night, Rosie had me up twice but she had had a stressful day at the vets. Three teeth (all cracked) had had to be removed and she wasn’t discharged until after 6.
A warning to all who like me thought filled antlers or “Yak Snacks” were a good idea to help keep teeth plaque free.
As the vet said, if it’s hard enough to remove plaque it’s harder than the tooth. So it will be doggy toothpaste on the fingertip brush from now on.
A lunch party at a village pub outside Bedford for D’s FIL’s 80th today. I hope the temperature isn’t 20C again as I plan to wear this. The summer linens are still in the process of being unpacked and it’s way too soon for them. This “in between “ seasons weather is tricky!

It made me feel a little bit sad that GS has decided to give up ballet and his performance in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s “Sleeping Beauty Dreams” in which he danced 4 roles was his last appearance. Cricket and rugby have taken its place in his affections. At 14 it’s not altogether surprising as he never wanted to train as a professional dancer - but sad.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Suffolk,the second day in a row of warm proper Spring like weather.

We went to the common yesterday with the dog which we always enjoy,especially since there is a lovely cafe there at the end of our walk. The original owners retired a few months ago and the new people have continued with the same friendly service and delicious cakes.

There are road works near by which have closed off one of the access roads and the remaining one is a single track unknown to non locals. The roadworks started in February and given the size of the hole in the ground are nowhere near finished. The new owner was telling us yesterday how badly their business has been affected. I felt so sorry for her.

Today I’ll pop into our local town where there is the monthly country market,formerly known as the farmers’ market and then time in the garden. After the best ever display of snowdrops and primroses,we have more cowslips than ever before,in spots in the grass where they have never appeared before….original rewilders we are!

Today is Babydoll's first birthday party. I was so looking forward to it, but will need to see how I feel when I get up.
I began to feel very unwell at Silverburn yesterday and had to lie down when I got home. I have no idea which of my ailments is causing it!
I can never make firm plans now to do anything, but at least the Mars Bar cake had already been made.
My family had all put in orders and would have been disappointed not to get any.😁

I was so supposed to meet Dollie and DIL, but Dollie wasn't well either. My main reason for going was to pick up a parcel at M&S, which didn't arrive until I was back home!
Not the most successful today.
I think the gods are conspiring against me.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dull day.
The builder will be back any moment to continue with sanding and painting the door surround. It’s looking great so worth the effort and the cost. I was talking to a neighbour and noticed hers was rotten too and in a much worse state than mine had been.
DD2 is coming today for an overnight stay . We are off to a concert tonight by a local jazz and blues band. We know the leader.
DGS is poorly. He has an infection in his mouth and blood tests show he has very low iron. We are waiting for further results. Since he had Covid he gets occasional spells, usually around 48 hours when he is wiped out. I hope the doctors can get to the bottom of it.
My tulips have suffered in the gales and battering rain but are pretty.
