Good Morning Sunday 14th April 2024

Good morning from a barely lightened Bristol.
Yesterday, I served coffee at church and there must have been about 12 people. They came in dribs and drabs mostly quite late. Very few of the regulars joined us. I’d made some lemon drizzle cupcakes which went down well. We are supposed to be in pairs, I was replacing someone, but the other half of the pair never turned up. I don’t know who it was supposed to be.
Today, I’m going to DD’s church as I have been invited to a family lunch to celebrate DGD’s 14th birthday tomorrow. It will be me, and 9 of the other family…. They are very nice but I feel very outnumbered.
I hope MD felt well enough for babydoll’s party yesterday.

Good morning, it’s dry here on a south Glos hillside so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Yesterday my neighbours dismantled and moved my greenhouse to their garden, for some reason I felt a huge sense of relief, I don’t know why.
I enjoyed sitting in the sun for a couple of hours, bliss! The washing all dried nicely too.
Today I will do the ironing, cook a roast dinner and enjoy having DD here. DH and she will walk the dogs.

Good morning, a nice dry and sunny day today. S somerset is very green now

My garden is full of blossom and bumblebees, they remind me that the cycle of nature goes on. I actually re-potted everything, my seedlings are looking very strong already

Today I want to hand weed and also go on a short cycle ride, basically just around the block, the lanes are nice and green and I can hear cows from my home. Just two little hills as I need to test myself after my time off. My steady hybrid bike for this, I need to be broken in gently

I have just prepared a small tray date bake, from cranks recipe book. Ready to bake whenever

I’m not up first today. The suns starting to rise in the east and it’s a beautiful sunrise. I’m going to church today, my friend is taking me,.
I’m also getting visitors and I’ve bought the best fresh cream cakes from one of the best bakers in the whole of Fife. We’re all going to have a great catch up.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dry, but dull Oxfordshire.
MrOops and I put up the fencing yesterday to keep the dog away from the hedges and fences where they side onto the neighbours ‘new’ dogs.
Took us most of the afternoon, but it doesn’t look too awful. My dizziness tails off towards the afternoons, so far this morning I’m not to bad, fingers crossed it stays that way.

We will watch her with interest when she arrives this afternoon, she will be able to smell the other dogs but won’t be able to get at them, or they her. We also ‘fenced in’ 2 large rabbit burrows, but I’m sure they have other holes emerging in the part of the garden where the dog has free reign, so I’m sure she will spend many happy hours waiting for one to appear, then she will rush off and wait whilst the rabbit will run behind her and she won’t notice it!
Very odd but it happens all of the time, maybe she doesn’t scent the rabbit but relies on seeing them?
Anyway, it’s done and let’s hope it works, barking and digging has become a nuisance.
A resting day today, let’s hope we have another sunny dry day, it was good to be outside and sit with a drink after our efforts, but the garden is still a wreck after the Winter and needs some work done on it. When we move we need a smaller garden.

Good morning from Malta where it is expected to be windy with a high of 23°C and more of the wretched desert sand blowing about.

GM you are good the way you take on so much but I can’t help feeling that you are being taken for granted. It is not fair that you were left to deal with the coffee morning on your own. ☹️

As usual, a quiet Sunday for me. I will walk round the corner for Mass then potter about until the tennis final at 3pm. Not the match up I had hoped for but may the best man win!

Thanks, Bella, but it really isn’t very onerous. There is a coffee machine and a dishwasher. People come in in dribs and drabs, so it is rarely rushed and yesterday there were only about twelve over two hours…

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s a sunny start.

We collected DGS1 after lunch.DH is enjoying the new car.DGS has been a little star.We took him to play with his cousins for a couple of hours then back here.It is only his second night away from his parents but he has been so good.We are both awake waiting for him to wake up!

DD and SIL went to a ball last night organised by their friends.They had a lovely meal then the surprise guests arrived who were James and Ola Jordan who danced for the guests and then with the guests.We have had some lovely pictures and looking forward to hearing more details when we take B home later.

I hope Marydoll and all under the weather are feeling better today.

A lazy day is planned, a late lunch at local restaurant with DD and the GS’s.

Tomorrow the builders should be here at 8am chaos, dust and noise, what’s not to love 🤣

Good morning from a balmy Cornwall where I'm on my patio swing seat in my pyjamas. I'm just beginning a two-day holiday; needing a change of scenery I've booked into a Premier Inn just a few miles away and on a bus route for just one night. It will be enough to give me a break and all I'll need to take with me are essentials and a good book.

Such a fun day with my granddaughter yesterday, creating worlds from cardboard. Also I discovered that she can memorise ten-digit numbers. She says she does it 'by pattern'. She went home with one of my library books about the shedding of millions of pieces of Lego from a container ship off our coast years ago.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Only 14° today after a high of 21 yesterday.
Had a lovely family day yesterday in DD2s garden.
We are on our way to a Rugby tournament armed with flasks and deckchairs. DGS1 plays rugby and DGS3 football at the same time most Sundays so we get roped in to give lifts when needed. Nice on a sunny day like today.

Yesterday was, perforce, a lost day. Today DD and the menfolk are coming round for lunch after shopping at our “Big Blue” (IKEA). I shall potter in between cooking.

Morning from a grey, cooler S Hants. Yesterday was spent potting on in the greenhouse, MrJ took our grandson to football, an exciting game.
Out for a late lunch with my daughter and the grandchildren this afternoon after a little more greenhouse pottering.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I had a lovely day in London yesterday. My daughter and I took my granddaughter (her niece) to the Young V&A. We started with a picnic in the park at Bethnal Green, then three hours in the museum and another hour in the museum park. Being a bit of a railway fan, I have to say the Elizabeth line is amazing!
My daughter is home for the weekend so I’ll cook her favourite roast chicken and all the trimmings for lunch.
At some point today we have to clear out the kitchen ready for the decorators tomorrow.

Good morning from a bright South Downs.

Yesterday was a pottering sort of day, but I did get the little waterfall finished, and it looks just as I envisaged. I am also realising that Duncan got the blame for what seems to be Tofu - plants being dug up etc.

Today we plan a walk along the seafront at Goring - in complete contrast to Knepp. I must tackle my muddy walking boots first. We will probably take lunch with us, so must get the bread started as what is left is only fit for toast.

Good morning from the Essex coast. Yesterday the weather was very warm, today is forecast to be less so.
I had a lovely day in London with my girls, afternoon tea was a delight and we did loads of walking. I was shattered when DH met me off the train at about 8.15.
Today DH has rugby with his grandsons first thing then we have a lunch at the Yacht club. I'm going to help get everything ready.

Yesterday next doors landlord finally replaced the fencing yippee I no longer have to look at a garden with dirty mattresses, cardboard packaging and everything else they are to lazy to dispose of.
Will make the most of this good weather and get some washing on, DH wants to paint the garage doors.
Roast lamb for dinner.
Hope Marydoll made it to party for babydoll and is feeling a little better.

Good from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

GM, I can empathise with you. There is a sense of fulfillment supporting one's church and parishioners.

I managed to get to Babydoll's party, but left earlier than planned. I was struggling a bit and trying to put on a face is difficult.
We had a lovely time, but it was too busy for me, fifteen adults and ten children! Dollie was in her element playing with Babydoll and her extended family ^ cousins^ cousins and refused to go home.
I am blessed with such a lovely family, including my in laws.

I missed Mass last night, so need to go this morning. Usually I give the duty sacristan a hand if I'm there, but it will be straight there and back. I am learning to say No and not cover up.
Apart from making roast beef with all the timings, I will rest.

I have bought some new dresses, but they need altered, so that is my gentle task for today.
Oops, I hope you get some relief from the vertigo.💐

MissOops has arrived 7 hours before she was due with the dog, she’s gone to bed so will explain when she gets up.
The dog went straight for the part of the garden where MrOops said she wouldn’t be able to get to the back fence, I told him she would!! Why won’t men listen, anyway he will have to sort it out when it’s later, tooo early to be banging about. It’s only a short piece of fencing needed so not too much to do. Little beast I knew she would find a way to get to the dogs.

DD2 and I have late morning nail appointments, then our plans with DGS2 will depend if his system has settled down - he had a bit of a fraught day yesterday with S&D, I’ve bought some gel stuff from Boots that’s supposed to help. It’s awful when little ones are unwell and don’t understand what’s happening.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is out. Builder will be back shortly to do some painting and sort the tops for leading tomorrow. He works hard and is making the most of the fine weather.
