Due to arthritis mine are now to tight so am thinking of having them made bigger. Mr J has offered to buy new rings for me but I don't want to change them as they are really pretty. Some Women do I believe change their rings over the years to update them but it is not something I want to do. How about you keep originals or new what would be your preference?

I still wear my wedding ring, it`s been on my finger for nearly 61 years. I rarely wear my engagement ring, but wear my eternity ring all the time.

I still wear my wedding ring, mainly because I can't get it over my knuckle. I didn't wear my engagement ring for years because I could no longer get it on, but now it sits happily on my little finger.

I wear my wedding ring all the time but I’m on my second engagement ring. My original one was 2 diamonds and the ring got worn .
We went to South Africa for our 25th wedding anniversary and Mr T bought me a new engagement ring as diamonds were much cheaper there.
I take it off when working as a hygienist as I’m worried about the stones getting loose, with constant hand washing and putting on and taking off gloves .

I wear both mine and never take them off.

I still wear my original wedding ring and engagement ring, the band on my engagement ring is wafer thin in one place though.

I had my engagement ring and wedding ring made slightly larger when I was pregnant and they were fine for years but are now quite loose. My fingers are thinner although the rest of me isn't.
Never take my wedding ring off and wear engagement ring too when I go out.

I had to get mine made larger and it looks as if it needs done again.
R.A means my joints are permanently swollen.

I wear both mine and never take them off.

Me too.

I've kept them, but haven't worn them since my divorce. I wear mother's eternity ring instead but it's now seriously tight and I can't get it off.
Might have to have it cut off I think.

I still wear mine every day. I think I had them enlarged after pregnancy. They are not particularly fancy or large stones, but it's what DH could afford at the time.

Oh dear, have a good memory in general but don’t know where they are. Stopped wearing them during COVID.

Yes, but this is my second marriage and we have only been married 17 years. The first set of rings I sold as soon as I left him and got a good price for them as well. That was it and never looked back since.

No. Despite having my wedding ring enlarged it no longer fits so lives safely along side late DH’s ring in a baked bean ‘safe’ tin! My lovely sapphire & diamond engagement ring which I rarely wore I have just given to DD2 who was visiting from Oz. It would have gone to her after my demise anyway! Im not really a ring person nor sentimental about them.

Yes, I never take them off.

I stopped wearing mine when I got divorced, but they do still fit.

I wear my original wedding ring, it’s only been off my finger once in 56 years, left in Mr C’s safekeeping when a hospital insisted. My original sapphire and diamond engagement ring is alternated with a trilogy diamond ring, an anniversary gift a few years ago. I rarely wear either indoors, always one when I go out. My eternity ring vanished three years ago when we were away from home, I keep hoping it will turn up in a corner of a suitcase.

I wear my original wedding ring - can’t get it off anyway. The original eternity ring that DH had made for our first anniversary was a full hoop of diamonds. Some years later my three year old son managed to flush it down the toilet! DH bought me another for our fortieth anniversary and I wear it constantly.

I originally had a very wide band which I couldn’t get on after DD1 was born so I have had a smaller ring for the past 55 years. I occasionally wear my engagement ring and eternity ring.

Smileless2012 Thu 18-Apr-24 08:37:50

I wear my wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring and would never change them. Several years ago we had a half shank replaced in the engagement ring as it was getting thin and I was worried it would break.

Lovetopaint037 Thu 18-Apr-24 09:19:25

Still wearing my original wedding ring which I put on nearly 64 years ago. However my engagement ring has a problem with the setting which has become so sharp Icant wear it.

harrigran Thu 18-Apr-24 09:35:08

I wear my wedding ring all the time except when I am doing housework. I lost the diamond from my engagement ring when we had been married ten years so the original can't be worn. Over the next 44 years DH bought me twelve rings with various settings and stones and I love to wear these, matching them to whatever outfit I am wearing.

I still have my wedding ring, my first engagement ring got stolen so I had another then that got stolen too. We just arrived back from living in France and we were out getting bits for our new home. I had left my jewellery box at my MIL and she got robbed. At the moment I don't feel like buying anything else.

Athrawes Thu 18-Apr-24 10:01:16

I still wear my original wedding ring but I only wear my engagement ring and eternity ring on special occasions mainly because my fingers appear to be thinner than they used to be! I wish the rest of me was also thinner blush

rubysong Thu 18-Apr-24 10:21:37

Yes, I wear both. After 50 years they needed enlarging which was quite expensive. I took along a box of 'scrap' gold, which kept the cost down.

Tink75 Thu 18-Apr-24 10:27:47

Yes still wearing both rings but sadly lost DH last year so a lovely reminder of happier times.
