Good morning from a chilly Torbay (4deg!)

I agree regarding the cold winds, Mick! It’s amazing we have Spring flowers, blossom and trees in leaf, given how chilly it continues to be.

I had a rather jolly telephone consultation with a new GP yesterday regarding some minor issues with my post TIA medication. She managed to be warm but also professional and incisive, which was very pleasing.

Today we are going to my holiday home at Whiddon Down for a couple of days, our first visit this year and much later than usual, mainly due to the weather.

Good morning from a just dawning Bristol. It is dry!
“Ne’er cast a clout ‘til may is out” was, I understood, about May blossom, whitethorn, rather than the month. It is out here, but I shall certainly not cast my clouts just yet!
I received an early phone call yesterday inviting me to lunch at the ladies group I attend. I hadn’t booked as I was very uncertain about my finances, but someone had dropped out at the last minute and I was asked to fill her place. It was most pleasant, and unexpected!
I managed to dry my washing outside, though I got very cold doing so.
I was taken by my neighbour to get my covid vax at a drop in centre, waited the regulation 15 minutes to be served, only to be told that they “weren’t vaccinating until Friday”! 😡 grrr.
Later that morning, I received the surgery’s invitation. I have booked my place. MD, I just feel out of sorts after vaccination, not ill ill.
Today is tai chi and dinner at DD’s. I’m staying on to babysit as both parents need to go out this evening, SiL for band practice as usual, DD for her monthly PCC meeting.

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and a high of 20°C expected.
Yesterday’s gale force winds seem to have died down but more are predicted.

The boys are both still asleep so breakfast will be late today. It’s our long day today when DD3 has to stay late at school so I hope we can get out for a walk. Yesterday’s outing was very windy so we cut it short after a quick trip to the park.

The plasterer finished yesterday, messy monkeys aren’t they! Shower tray should go in tomorrow, tiler starts Monday, grandchildren are staying tomorrow night, so some moving of stuff off their beds is a to do.

A simple day for me today starting with my weekly making of kefir, as soon as the organic stuff arrives

I set my machine up in the dining area, very pleasant in there with the window behind me. Slow mo sewing for a few days as I cut out my two summer caftans yesterday, just on and off, now and then. I shall be getting my bike out later and go out to accumulate some aerobic fitness and leg muscles

Good morning, a very chilly 2° here on the hillside in south Glos, but the sun’s shining so that’s good 😊
I enjoyed my manicure yesterday, I now have lovely scarlet nails - I must remember to wear gardening gloves today.
I have art group this afternoon, looking forward to seeing everyone, and a Waitrose delivery this morning .
I sorted out my embroidery bits and pieces yesterday, I have 12 kits waiting to be done (my sister’s neighbour gave them to me), so that’ll keep me busy for years if I live long enough!
Off for a dog walk shortly, I will need my gloves today.

Morning all, the sky is blue, the sun is shining and as of yet no wind.

Our meeting with the builders project manager was fruitful yesterday, we are so fortunate that our insurance company is on our side. Unfortunately the same can not be said for the loss adjusters, I have them firmly in my sights now. The bottom line is that the builders cannot guarantee their work under the present circumstances, and we are not happy with the that and neither are they. (All the work currently being done is ongoing from what they completed just over five years ago, which has been unsuccessful at correcting and rectifying the source of the house movement )

This morning I am off to the hairdressers for a cut and colour, next big decision is how short do I go. 😱

Gingster I was in your High Street yesterday, and was amazed at how busy it was. The Fish Man’s fish looked impressive, might have to pop back next Wednesday and sample his wares.

Good morning everyone from my cabin on Spirit of Adventure, a hint of sunshine, a fairly calm sea, and a promise of good weather as we head into the Bay of Biscay. I am enjoying a cup of tea in bed, looking out at the sea.

Had a good journey down yesterday and made to feel very welcome on board as usual. A late lunch, followed by lifeboat drill, then time to get ready for dinner. Sat with a very nice couple from West Yorkshire who just happened to know my vicar brother when he was a priest at various parishes - what a small world!

Breakfast next, then a manicure and pedicure at the salon- I always do this on the first day, then my nails look decent for the rest of the cruise.

This is the first of three sea days, which I love, and shall probably spend most of them just watching the sea - with a few breaks for food! Also time to get stuck into a book. I shall also try to do my daily mile, four times round the main deck.

The roof men are due anytime at all. They are doing a few bits on our roof but most of the problem is caused by next door's gully - apparently!! Though accessed via our house.

And a Sainsbury's delivery about 5pm.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold but sunny South Yorkshire. I am supposed to be out with the walking group this morning, but have pain in my hip that doesn’t seem to want to settle down, so I’ll give it a miss, and drive over to see DD later and then call in at the garden centre on the way home. I’ll do some cooking for the freezer later but generally it’s just going to be a rest day.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m having a lie in after yesterday’s very long day. It ended with my sister ringing for a chat from her car in Sydney! I had just turned my light out.
OH is going to collect his new car today. I won’t see it until Saturday as I will be staying in Kew for two nights and not getting home until Saturday morning. I’m driving up this afternoon.

Good morning from a chilly but beautifully sunny South Downs.

The birds are in full nesting mode, and it is noticeable how the starlings disappear for a while, only making the occasional visit, but later they will bring their very noisy young and the garden is then full of demanding fledglings following their parents around with open beaks. Mealy worms are always very popular.

The sparrows and small birds stay around though as they nest locally in the hedges or roofs etc. They are busy looking for soft food. This is the time of year that they are so helpful in clearing all the aphids and other pests from our emerging garden.

Tofu is beginning to get very bold - I think it is dawning on him that his nemesis - Duncan - is no longer on patrol. Yesterday after his mouse clearance, he sat on the wall looking into the conservatory, blinking at us.

Today is a day in as DHs back is playing up . So I shall of course garden, but first I need to give the shower drain it’s monthly white vinegar and soda clean. It is amazing how soon the dirt and grease builds up - we must be mucky people! Or more likely I should clean the drain more often😄. Housework is not my favourite past time.

Fish - hake for supper pan fried with a tomato salsa - nice and easy.

I haven’t seen her for a while as she has had such a time actually getting in. I have a feeling she will be very tired for a while.
DGS2 has some important interviews over the next few days so I will be thinking of him.

Good morning from a possibly sunny though bracing Cornwall. The origami workshop went well yesterday; everyone made a rose and a fox, simple but effective designs. Afterwards I cruised some charity shops and got jewellery and bedding bargains.

Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee. She's going through the mill after her son-in-law died from a stroke so she's dealing with her daughter's and grandsons' adjustments as well as her own grief.

My surgery were fantastic yesterday, responding within hours to a request about a prescription I sent by email. They look after me so well. My daughter needs a break so may come next week to stay and that prompts me to fit in a much-overdue and much-needed trip to my allotment before she arrives.

Oh! I think I should have said that I do clean the bathrooms 😮😮😮 it is just the drain that doesn’t get its daily swoosh/weekly clean!!

Yesterday was a lost day. I had a Shingles jab Tuesday, and by the afternoon started to feel 'off'. Felt terrible yesterday until mid-afternoon, when it started to pass off. So feel almost back to normal now. Never had such a reaction to a jab before. This was the 2nd one, as you have 2 6 months apart.

Thursday walking group this morning, where hopefully it won't rain

Then onto Mum's where we will probably go out to lunch.

Yesterday I spent the day with DD and as she was having a ‘good’ day, we went out for lunch. Really enjoyed a bit of normality with her.👍.

Today I have bowls group and later I’ll pick DGD up from school, bring her back for tea and take her to Brownies.

GG . What a shame I missed you in the market. I’m usually there on a Wednesday but DD arrived and things took over.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and a bit grey looking. Mizuna that reminds me of when I was a librarian in a school and looked after a Japanese girl who was visiting. She made me the most beautiful origami animals as a thank you. Sadly I've lost them in a house move. Brook it was lovely to see you again.
Yesterday was such a nice day. The weather in Glasgow was sunny and it felt quite warm. The company of Glasgow Grans was equally warm. What a lovely group. Last night was a quiet one for me. Sadly I didn't sleep well. It's what I've got used to, but it's still disappointing.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment early. Then an appointment with my lawyer to begin the process of guardianship for mum. I'm not looking forward to it but can see no other way. Needless to say, my brother wants nothing to do with it. Too much effort. Oh well, down to me. Later I'll potter about. Have a good day all.
