Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but with a grey sky this morning ,and also that biting windchill .
The chilly air is somewhat playing around with my condition , as I a,m wrapping up clothing wise due to it , the longer it continues the worse I may feel , warm conditions is what is needed .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dawning, overcast Bristol. This icy wind is getting me down.
I had a good tai chi session yesterday; we were very few though. Perhaps, taichinan, you could just let your class repeat (ad nauseum?) what you normally do. May help the meditative part of the discipline.
I visited one of the residents who is now virtually housebound due to a crumbling spine, poor thing.
Dinner at DDs; Iris was making a pesto of ransomed (wild garlic). The house smelled strongly of them, but tasted very mild with the farfalle we had with it.
Poor DD had barely come back from a retreat that she and SiL went to Iris’ parent evening, rushed dinner and off to her PCC meeting. I barely saw her.
Spanish restarts today, long walk to the centre.
May today bring peace to you all; Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and all who follow, you’re right about the cold wind Mick, we need some warm and calm weather.

Arrived home from Cornwall, tired after helping MzOops, we have a carload to unpack and store, she still has loads to pack, but has friends helping her.

The fencing has arrived so we need to tackle that tomorrow after the dog has returned to her own home.

I also seem to have loads of washing to do, I won’t be bored for a few days.

Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts are with those who are unwell or stressed.

Pantglas2 Fri 19-Apr-24 05:59:35

Here I am with more bags of 🌞 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 to the rescue Mick and all who need it!

We’re promised some showers here 🇪🇸 over the weekend so fingers crossed it’s overnight and not whilst I’m on a Mystery Trip tomorrow 🤷‍♀️. Mr PG and I have bets on where we end up on these jollies and this time my money is on Sevilla where the April Feria finishes!

A quiet day today with some washing to dry up on the terrace whilst I sit and read in the shade now that my live in handyman has fitted the awning on the pergola. Then fish and chips tonight at one of our favourite restaurants (there are many 😊) and an early night methinks.

Have a good weekend everyone x

Good morning from a chilly Whiddon Down (mid Devon) after a beautifully sunny day yesterday.

Later, we hope to catch a train from Okehampton to Exeter. This line has recently been reopened (2022) as a regular service after being an occasional Sunday special for some years.

I’m glad you’re having a happy holiday, Pantglas2. 😎
A busy time with washing, Oopsadaisy1 but worth it, no doubt to have had a break.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, grey skies and chilly here in south Glos, yesterday was lovely when the sun shone but a bitter wind.
I enjoyed my dog walks yesterday, it’s lovely to see the hedges greening up.
Today I have nothing planned so will see how the day goes, gardening I think as the weeds never stop growing!
DH is busy sorting out the base for the summerhouse which is being delivered next Thursday and assembled the following week!
Have a lovely day 🌹

BlueSapphire Fri 19-Apr-24 06:38:11

Good morning everyone from a still dark day somewhere off the NW coast of Spain. There is quite a swell, and I woke up to a gentle rocking motion.

Spent a lovely morning in the salon yesterday having my nails, (fingers and toes) done; I now look presentable! Met the same lovely couple I'd had dinner with the night before, and had a fish and chip lunch with them.
Walked four times around the deck (a mile) then to a classical music concert, and sat and watched the sea with my new book. A lovely sunny day, blue skies and sea to match, but a chill wind.
Went to the solos meet up before dinner, which was well attemded, and joined another lady for dinner. Back to the cabin where I fell asleep watching the tv!

A leisurely morning ahead, more reading, then will go to the solos lunch
First cocktail party and formal night, time to get my glad rags on!

May we all have a good day.

Good morning from s somerset, where spring has arrived

Yesterday was glorious and I went cycling and up that hill, so I feel good, knowing that I can still do it. I was not fast but I got to the top only sounding like a quiet steam train.

My first caftan is started, the tricky bit is done and I take such delight in that old machine which is taking a modern fabric (oekotex viscose crepe) as a matter of course, built when that fabric was never in existence. Clever designers in switzerland at those bernina factories

My hm kimchi is ready to eat but I will give it a few more days. I left out the chilli flakes, on purpose.

Today will be a lovely day, I weeded yesterday, only 4 bigger weeds as the sedums keep the weeds down and I quickly used the hoe where needed. So that is done but I have washing, I should get that started

Have a good day

Good morning from a rather gloomy Malta where we’ve had a few spots of rain and the high is just 14°C.

Glad you are enjoying your cruise BlueSapphire, it sounds lovely.

The boys are both up, dressed and full of Weetabix. Now to amuse them indoors as the weather is not looking good for our usual walk.

Hair appointment later then recharging my batteries for next week.

The weeks fly, I can’t believe we’re at another weekend.

Wishing everyone the best day.☀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 19-Apr-24 07:00:53

Morning all from Kew.
I’ll take granddaughter to school later, have coffee and a pastry at one of the cafes near the station and then pop down to Kew Gardens. I’ll stock up on honey marmalade and I might be tempted by other things in the wonderful shop!
OH is very pleased with his new car. I’ll see it tomorrow.
Have a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Apr-24 07:09:50

Morning all from a grey cold S E Essex.

Update on our building repairs/renovations, they are stopping today…

Our builder is not happy, the insurance company are not happy and we are definitely very far from happy. There is going to be a conference call next week where all the grievances will be aired with the (most useless ever known) loss adjuster.

Our insurance company wants more geo-surveys, as do we and the builders will not and cannot guarantee their work until these have been done.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry as it’s what we have been requesting for seven years, and is why the work we had done five years ago has all failed. We will be without one of our guest bedrooms for now, as that is down to floorboards (replaced this week) and bare brick walls.

I am off to the gym first thing, then taking GS to his gymnastics class.

Have a good day folks. 🙋‍♀️

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

A warm-ish, sunny and calm morning was followed by the return of the cold wind in the afternoon yesterday. It looks breezy today. I’m sorry the cold is affecting you mick. Would it help to cover your nose and mouth when you go out?

GP first thing and Tai Chi after lunch will be about all there is energy for today. Sleep was elusive last night.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

cornergran Fri 19-Apr-24 07:11:58

I’m so sorry grannyg. What a kerfuffle.

GrannySomerset Fri 19-Apr-24 07:12:10

Feeling distinctly pathetic with some bug which struck me down yesterday- temperature, painful throat and chest, general lassitude. Am supposed to be going to the ballet tomorrow but wonder if I should cry off now so that someone else can use the ticket. Oh, and the painter is coming to do the kitchen this weekend and I don’t want to put him off as I have had this booked for weeks. Back to bed for now I think, hoping to feel better later.

Marydoll Fri 19-Apr-24 07:14:12

Good morning all, from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

I've had a particularly disturbed night, I now have a matching pair of excruciatingly painful hips. I couldn't find a way to lie comfortably and I am seriously tetchy this morning! 😉
Mr MD is golfing ( escaping from my grumpiness), so an empty for me.

Pants, I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip.
My first ever trip abroad was to Sevilla in April 1976 and I fell in love with it. I was visiting my friend, who was studying there.
I arrived to find an out of character, love letter from DH 😍 with pesetas to treat myself ( Never received one before, nor after!)) I knew then, that he was smitten. 😉
There, I discovered Spanish leather shoes, a pair of olive green, strappy, wedge sandals. That's what triggered my Imelda Marcos addiction. 👞🩰👠👟
The last time I was there it was 46°F and I developed cellulitis in my legs! No point in buying shoes, I couldn't get anything on my feet. 😔

Have good day folks and good luck with any appointments.

Marydoll Fri 19-Apr-24 07:16:09

GG, what a nightmare. 💐

Alygran Fri 19-Apr-24 07:26:13

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Bright and breezy today.
I’m going out for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. She has chosen a Thai restaurant.
Yesterday's plans to do some sanding and painting were completely scuppered by the weather. It was wet and cold. We could do with some warmth too Mick.
Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Fri 19-Apr-24 07:26:16

Good morning all. North Leicestershire is cloudy this morning and not too warm.

The roofers will be back again - they are a lovely bunch which is a good job as they are in and out to access the gullies next door.

DD3 is calling in to borrow tablecloths and I am meeting DS1 for lunch at a new cafe in town.

DS2 came round for his annual meet up with DH. They chat about their memories of the Hillsborough disaster as they were there together - DS was only 16. We see him often but this is a special time in their diary.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bonnybanko Fri 19-Apr-24 07:33:29

Good morning all. It looks like it’s to be a gloriously sunny day here on the east coast of Fife.
I’ve a busy day today, my friend is coming to mow my small lawn and specsavers are coming to test my eyes. It’s great that they come to the house as I am unable to visit them at the time they want me to I need carers to take me and they’re times are all over the place at the moment.

Have a good day, those who can and God bless

Pittcity Fri 19-Apr-24 07:33:34

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
A quiet weekend expected as DH is out for most of it.
I'll walk to the Range for some new kitchen jars and set about labelling and organising. Been meaning to do it for ages and now I have a chance.
I enjoy a quiet time alone but I know that it won't be for long. I can't imagine what it'd be like if it was the norm.
Love to all 🦩 x

luluaugust Fri 19-Apr-24 07:38:09

Good morning from a grey, chilly W Kent. Problem at art group as the caretaker didn’t know we were back so we had to stand around in the cold for a while until she could get to us. Not very good for some of the ladies. Lovely afternoon with DF enjoying tea amongst the as yet unpacked boxes. She is so relieved to have survived the move.
Shopping today and start to think about packing for our break starting next week.
GG so sorry to read about the building problems I hope you get somewhere at the meeting.
Marydoll I hope you feel a bit better as the day goes on
GrannySomerset hoping a rest helps.
Mick keep wrapping up.
Best wishes to all

NannyJan53 Fri 19-Apr-24 07:42:34

Good morning from a cloudy, but hopefully rain free Black Country.

Lovely sunny morning yesterday, but still a chill in the air. 3 mile walk with my group, then coffee and chat. Then onto Mums for lunch out. She had her predictable Fish n Chips! Then I took her to Lidl to stock up.

No real plans today. Normally I would go to the gym first thing, but as it closed and I haven't got round to joining another one yet. Probably do some housework and catch up on the ironing pile which is slowly growing. At least I feel normal now after my after effects of the Shingles jab.

Your cruise sounds idyllic so far BlueSapphire

Wishing you all the best day possible

NannyJan53 Fri 19-Apr-24 07:43:43

Meant to say GrannyG so sorry to hear of your building problems. Sounds like someone has made a big mistake somewhere. I hope it is all resolved soon.

brook2704 Fri 19-Apr-24 07:44:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness is dry and no rain forecast for later
Sounds like a lovely cruise BlueSapphire enjoy every minute
I’m meeting my pal this afternoon and we’re going for a walk, we’re both missing going to the gym but not signed up for anywhere else yet. I’m hoping to get a workout in the garden this morning instead!
Kitty sad memories to talk about for your DS & DH
Hoping you’re feeling better soon grannysomerset
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Fri 19-Apr-24 07:47:42

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and looks damp out. Not actively raining though. Grannygravy what a dreadful predicament for you. Kittylester I remember watching it unfold on tv. It was awful. Ash enjoy your train trip.
Yesterday was my chiropodist appointment. She's nicked one of my toes so I'll have to keep an eye on it. Then I had an appointment with my lawyer and started the process of guardianship for mum. It will take a long time but she's blocking a bed , so will be pushed up the queue. Some hard conversations are needed with my brother, however, which I'm not looking forward to at all.
Today I'm off to mum's hospital for a team meeting about her. Said brother is going too. I expect social work will be making decisions about her care going forward until I can get guardianship in place. I'm not looking forward to this. My brother is not the easiest person and can become aggressive very quickly. Oh well, gird my loins and all that. Have a good day all.
