No matter what the facts are this is going to be reported on as being an official royal tour. This tour will be fully publicised in the press and have a lot of coverage perhaps to the detriment of the rest of the royal family.

Comparisons could be made between ‘youthful’ and energetic H and M and the elderly ailing king and Catherine also ailing.

Surely this is a kick in the teeth to Charles and William. I think their titles need to be removed asap, as I don’t think that H and M will ever stop trading on the RF name that they no longer want to be associated with.

Yes Callistemon The Invictus Games are all about sport

The Invictus Games are all about ex-service personnel finding new ways to live after injury through sport.

I've been trying to find evidence of quite what Mike Tindall is if anything. This seems to be a social media hype by those who hate H&M.

If anyone can post anything from the official Invictus people please do so.

Didn't Anne once say her children aren't royal?

You have no need to lecture us about ex-service personnel Glorianny and why the Invictus Games began.
I expect many of us know far more than you about the services.

Of course, when the celebs involved start to think they are more important than the aims of such an organisation and the competitors themselves, then no wonder there is disquiet amongst participants.

Last year was really cringe time, Megan made a speech explaining why she was late arriving at the games, she was tending her children, getting milk shakes and taking one to school.
Then the leading of a parade , walking in front of the athletes

She did, and added they just happen to have the Queen as their Grandma. Which makes them part of the Royal Family, even though Anne wanted them to have a normal childhood without the burden of titles. Harry and Meghan were determined their children should have Royal titles even though they profess to want a normal childhood away from the glare of being a part of the Royal Family. No intention of carrying out any Royal duties but want the titles. Strange that.

The Invictus Games would have a great ambassador in Mike Tindall. You say This seems to be a social media hype by those who hate H&M. but you never miss a chance to damn any member of the RF except Harry and Meghan. It is very obvious. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh goes to Ukraine and you whinge, but if H&M went accompanied by Netflix cameras you'd be simpering in praise.

Perhaps Mike Tindall not being so "known" worldwide as H&M would be a distinct advantage, concentrate on the athletes not a stepped-down Prince and his ex-actress wife.

Hear hear.

Mike Tindall may have married into the Royal family but he is known as a great sportsman in his own right.
75 caps for England and was in the 2003 final against Australia, England winning 20-17.

Don't encourage her!

There is absolutely no evidence that Mike Tindall has or is to be offered any position. He might be an ambassador lots of sports people have been. It's press speculation and social media hype.

Probably he refused, he is very close to William and his family

Perhaps it was just an M&H hater's imagination.

I think the veterans themselves were not happy.

Callistemon wash your mouth out! The veterans don't matter, nobody matters except Harry and Meghan. And if Meghan can't walk at the head of the parade then she's not walking at all. Lots of the veterans are missing limbs, need wheelchairs and the like you say? If you will bring in these meaningless diversions........

Callistemon21 Wed 01-May-24 23:15:56

I think Harry, as a veteran, needs to continue with the Invictus Games as his solo venture.

Rosie51 Wed 01-May-24 23:27:13

I agree, Harry knows what it is to serve, even if he escaped physical-injury free. He knows the 'brotherhood' of comrades, but Invictus is in danger of being reduced to an Oscar-like performance, at least at any 'opening ceremonies'. It should be 100% about the veterans taking part, the rest is just pointless window dressing.

Katie59 Thu 02-May-24 09:17:17

I was surprised when Tindall was proposed as “Patron” he’s never been high profile certainly not a figurehead.
I understand Invictus being very uncomfortable with controversial celebrities involve with the organization, so Harry will quite likely be edged out.

Anniebach Thu 02-May-24 09:36:37

He is very in the royal family,

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 02-May-24 09:43:20

Very what?

Anniebach Thu 02-May-24 09:45:36

Sorry, prominent in the royal family

Katie59 Thu 02-May-24 10:03:21

The Tindalls don’t have any Royal profile, no formal title and don’t have duties to perform, in contrast to Princess Anne who does a great deal.
They have Royal cousins but can’t change that, all very low profile, maybe later in life they will do more, we will see.

Anniebach Thu 02-May-24 10:08:48

The only connection i could think of

merlotgran Thu 02-May-24 10:13:53

I rarely agree with Gloryanny when it comes to H&M threads but I can’t find any reports about Mike Tindall being given a prominent position in Invictus.

It’s just speculation and fake news.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Princess Charlotte.

No-one's told him yet.

As I said previously, it's Harry's dream project, very successful, and Harry should continue with it.

There's no need for Meghan to be involved, she has her own fish to fry.

Presumably using her exclusive cookware and American Rivera Orchard sustainable Olive Oil.

Anniebach Thu 02-May-24 10:35:03

Megan will continue to be very much involved, there are cameras
