Mr Markle has absolutely no self awareness. Having spent 5 years pointing his finger at his father, his brother, his step mother, his sister in law and various unnamed relatives, to anyone who would listen but he's now standing up in a church preaching about the perils of it. As for speaking of evil... he just needs to stand in front of a mirror with Mrs Markle. His hypocrisy and lack of self awareness is breathtaking. I'm glad that none of his relatives, apart from an aunt and uncle, bothered to go and support him. He's reaping what he's sown.

I don't understand how Harry is pointing the finger at other family members because they have been the epitome of discretion. None of them has publicly spoken evil of him or his wife, none of them has caused harm or torn the family apart. Perhaps he is admitting his own disrespectful behaviour and hopes that God will hear him and lead him?
I wasn't there, however, to hear the reading in context, so who knows how to interpret this?

Slandering someone's name causes upset and stress. Harry has questioned Charles' character and criticised his brother, SiL and step mother. Doing so, he actually sullies his own reputation. Surely by now he has realised the error of these ways?
I also agree with Dickens that the time has come to stop blaming Harry's wife for everything ....... (and I used to be one of the first to find fault with her) .... because yes, life is fragile and can be smashed in the blink of an eye.

Harry spoke from Isaiah 58:9 which reads Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.

That passage had so much relevance to Harry it could have been written with him in mind!

I have some sympathy for Harry both as a child as his parents marriage broke up so publicly, the constant rumours about who his father was and the sudden shocking death of his mother must have been very hard fir a young boy.

No, Charles didn’t write a book. The only reference to his relationship with Camilla was to say the affair started after his
marriage had broken down.

He authorised a biography on himself by Jonathan Dimbleby. In it, the Queen and Philip were described as emotionally distant.

Though he did seem to form a closer bond with his mother in later years - if you look at the way he has referenced her, in speeches, etc.

Harry has been very cruel with his remarks about Queen Camilla and she has maintained a dignified silence but it must have upset both her and the King. Harry should keep his nasty opinions to himself.

Mollygo, you are absolutely right. I have just read a sycophantic piece in the Daily Telegraph which is all about family tensions; very little about the purpose of Invictus Games.

Four in my family and two in my husband's for example - and none of them were actually German - please don't criticise people for trying to make like less complicated for themselves.

I thought H was here for a series of events connected with the Invictus Games, but all the coverage I have read has focused on his non-meeting with the King, and a mention of his Reading at the Service And he is going home today so he is the one who can't spare the time to see his father. What a waste of space.

Drama, controversy, and bad-news sells newspapers. Worthy causes, not so much.

The only way any high-profile individual can avoid the headlines is to maintain a low-profile.

I was always impressed with the way Princess Diana's "soulmate", Hasnat Khan, the British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon, kept a low-profile after her death, refusing to give interviews for the media about their relationship. Which didn't stop them from hovering around snapping photo's of him. But even he capitulated ultimately I believe breaking his 25 year's silence - but not with a 'tell-all' book...
