Good Morning Everyone,
Another dry and bright start to the day here in brackley this morning.
A day of watching cycling on TV, but I have found the warmer weather is also having an effect on my symptoms,as to the bowel problem , considering it is just under 12 months to when I had the surgery done , i am going to update the nursing team as to how things are .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, it is foggy in s somerset and we have had more rain overnight, there are hanging drips everywhere. It will be a lovely day today, sun all day

Another positive day for me yesterday, bits of this and that, including putting sleeves into my hippy jacket, all seams are finished as behoves this quilted indian cotton. I quickly sliced the fruity saffron leaves, which are like soft brioche and they are away from temptation in the freezer

I am on a mission to live out of the freezer for a while, only buying tasty basics from the organic company. I am going to need the space within weeks as my gooseberries and blueberries are swelling very fast and I eat them all year around. Multi-coloured veg and bean soup to be made today, using stock from the freezer

A bit of sewing and either cycling or walking today, probably walking because of the field and tractor mud which will be on the lanes.

Have a good day

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire - going to be a hot day. I have been awake since quarter past two! I was busy yesterday, weeded all the patio paving, emptied and cleaned some redundant planters, cleaned and polished the car……. I was tired last night, but still woke at silly o’clock😩.
DS is coming down for lunch today before skipping off to the last football match of the season. I’ll make lasagne and salad rathe than a roast today. He’ll look in again on the way home (and probably find me asleep in a chair!).
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Bristol. It looks like we are in for a glorious day. No storms or rain yesterday.
Yesterday was a bit of a disaster. I had planned my morning very carefully. First, I’d get the bus to Waitrose, it was a ghost bus so I had to walk some 25 minutes to get there. As it was only one stop to the surgery for my COVID appointment, I walked back with my heavy trolley. I got there on time for my appointment, only to find a queue of about 10 people! Surely they didn’t all have an appointment at the same time? I think they just come and are accommodated. Next time, I’ll do the same - just turn up…. After about 20 minutes fortunate standing in the early sunshine, I got vaccinated.
I then walked back to the church for coffee; it wasn’t worth going home. I tried to get into church via the side door, on the flat, with my heavy trolley. Locked! Bummer - I was getting very fed up with how my morning was going!
I went round to the main door, heaving the trolley up the steps. There was an official looking chap, jobs-worth it turned out, who refused to unlock the door because “the person who locked up wouldn’t know that it was open”! Well!!
Nothing had been set up, so I did it. The two ladies whose turn it was didn’t arrive until “opening time”!
The rest of my day was quiet and predictable, fortunately. I did a lot of square preparation for the quilt. Got 12 done, only need another 8, then I can assembled the larger squares…
Just church this morning. It’s Christian Aid week, so something will have been organised.
The poor vicar has pneumonia and told to rest. As he seems hyperactive, it’ll probably be very hard for him, butshoukd do him a lot of good.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a beautiful morning in Torbay with sunshine forecast for throughout the day.

Today is my 74th birthday! We might visit Cockington, where we were married in 2015 and a meal in our favourite pub on the Downs is planned for this evening. I’m pleased to report that olddudders has recovered well from his dental experience with normal eating being resumed during yesterday.

RosiesMaw: I’m sorry there is such sadness in your life. 💐

I bet being a film extra was interesting, Grammaretto!

Perhaps you were overtired by the time you went to bed, Greyduster?

Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Happy birthday,🥳🎂 Ash. Glad that oldd will be able to enjoy his slice of cake!

Bellasnana Sun 19-May-24 06:16:24

Good morning from Malta where it is hot, humid and overcast.

Happy birthday Ashcombe, it sounds like you have planned a lovely day of celebrations. Glad oldd will be able to enjoy the food!

The usual Mass, FaceTime chat with my friend and later on the Men’s Final in Rome for me today. I find Sunday a bit of a struggle to be honest as I have too much time to think.

Oh well, back to those two happy little faces tomorrow. I don’t know what I shall do when they start nursery.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Have a very Happy Birthday, Ash!🎉🎂💐

RosesandLilac Sun 19-May-24 06:45:39

Good morning from sunny south Glos, a lovely start to Sunday here.
Happy birthday Ashcombe 🎂🥂💐
Yesterday I weeded, fed and topped up all my big pots of strawberries, I have three more big pots to do including my one with the wild orchid that seeded itself several years ago.
I have assembled the chair and storage box for the summerhouse and DH spent all day yesterday sealing the gaps and joins - honestly you wouldn't believe how poorly made it is 😵‍💫
I will carry on titivating it today, I want to prettify it (DH rolled his eyes and muttered something about pig’s ears and silk purses when I mentioned it to him!)
I will move my tubs with the roses today and then hopefully sit and read in the sun.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Morning all from a very muggy West Oxfordshire. I slept really badly.
Church this morning. A Book of Common Prayer service at a tiny church 15 minutes away.
I bought some plants yesterday for our hanging basket. One of them is a black petunia which I’ve never seen before. I’ll sort that out this afternoon.
O H put up a sort of box in the back garden yesterday which would attract any passing swarm! He would then take them to his spare hive. I can’t say I’m totally happy about maybe thousands of bees in my garden, even for a short time. He has his hives a few miles away in a friend’s organic farm.
Have a good day everyone. Happy birthday Ash. 🎂

Good morning from a bright North Leicestershire.

We have a gentle day ahead. Roast lamb at lunch time and the papers and football on the tv this afternoon.

DGS4 won Players' Player of the year for the second year running at his football awards evening - he was quite pleased.

Good morning from foggy South Lanarkshire.

Happy birthday Ash, enjoy your day.

Yesterday was a fairly productive day, I cleaned, cooked, baked, did laundry, walked the daft dug, and still managed an hour outside with my book.

Mass this morning then over to Edinburgh for the youngest’s birthday tea. He turned two during the week and is a happy, chatty, bouncing ball of fun.
DD and gang will be there too, all seven grandchildren together, it doesn’t often happen.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 19-May-24 07:19:18

Morning all, nothing planned for today, it’s rather nice to have a lazy one.

Happy Birthday Ashcombe 🎂🥂🎉

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing 🙋‍♀️

Marydoll Sun 19-May-24 07:22:24

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it 11°C.
Like Greyduster, I have been awake most of the night, a combination of heat and DH's snoring.

Happy birthday Ash, I hope you have a lovely day.

Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. DS2 arrived in the morning with Babydoll. She was hot and cross and hadn't slept all night! DS needed a break.😍
The conservatory doors couldn't be opened as the heat makes them swell, preventing them from closing. Since we had to go out later, that was a no, no. I thought I was going to expire from the heat.
Beautiful roses, tickets for a concert of James Bond music in Paisley Abbey and a meal later from DS and family were much appreciated.
DS2 and DIL are very good at getting us out of our comfort zone! DH is reluctant to go anywhere!

Later I received some very thoughtful presents from DS1 and family. I am indeed blessed. Dollie spent most of Mass cuddling into me.🥰
I quite like this idea of an extended birthday!

Pottering in the garden is the plan for today, apart from returning DD's parcel shelf from the garage. We brought so much stuff on holiday, they had to remove it and had forgotten it was there.
Their street is being resurfaced this week and because their car is new, I want it out of our garage, before it gets damaged.

I wish you all the best of Sundays. Our friends and their partners, who have much pain and illness are never far from my thoughts. 💐

Marydoll Sun 19-May-24 07:23:24

Baubles, a perfect afternoon!

Jaxjacky Sun 19-May-24 07:41:30

Morning from sunshine in S Hants, a very Happy Birthday to you Ashcombe 🥳🎂, enjoy your day.
Yesterday was newspaper, garden pottering, including watering then in the early evening we went for a jaunt. Visiting a tucked away pub deep in the countryside, we haven’t been there for many years, booked to eat there in a couple of weeks.
No real plans today.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. It would be nice if it burned off later to reveal sunshine. Ashcombe a very happy birthday to you. I hope you have a lovely day.
I had a pleasantly busy day yesterday too. Lots of domestic stuff. I even cleaned out the car too. My friend and I put the world to rights in the morning and I continued with my painting in the afternoon.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food then a bit of weeding. Later I'll visit mum. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Sun 19-May-24 07:44:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s a bit grey this morning but some sunshine due later.
A very happy birthday Ash enjoy your special day together
Hopefully going to do some gardening this morning, whilst I was away the weeds took the opportunity to flourish but they definitely need sorting out today. We’ve not had any rain for ages so the garden is looking quite dry. Later today I’m off to DD2s to help with a bit more sorting out stuff and getting the house ready for her to put it on the market.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Beechnut Sun 19-May-24 07:44:13

Good morning everyone from Severnside.

Many Happy returns of the day Ash 🥂🎂🎉 enjoy your birthday meal.

A good weeding day yesterday but it did make my knee feel quite sore. More of the same early today and then sunshine sitting.

Have a lovely day all whatever you do 🌞🌺

Bonnybanko Sun 19-May-24 07:44:34

Good morning all from what’s going to be another warm day on the east coast of Fife.
I’m off to church today with my dear friend who picks me up.

I bought some lovely pork sausages, mince and bacon at the Fife show on Saturday. They’ll all be so delicious straight from the local farmer

I’ll need to open all the windows and conservatory doors as soon as possible, this house gets soo hot with the weather climate change going on

Get that sun cream on my friends don’t be taking chances

God bless

Pittcity Sun 19-May-24 07:46:00

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another load of laundry on for drying outside.
No plans. DH is picking up the pressure washer that he lent to a neighbour yonks ago, so there'll be some car cleaning going on.
DS may drop in on his way back to base. He's been moving his GF from Uni to home as the year has ended there already. Tempus Fugit.

Happy Birthday Ash and love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a sunny morning in the Algarve. We arrived late yesterday evening and planning some rest & relaxation before the family hopefully arrive next Friday for half term. Been a busy few weeks.

Happy birthday Ashcombe and hope everyone has a lovely day 💐☀️

Good morning all

Feeling a little shell shocked this morning. My DiL and DGD2, aged 10 were in a serious RTA. It occurred on a stretch of road over a motorway they use daily but another driver pulled out directly in front of them turning right (from the M4 slip road) thus causing an unavoidable collision. Their car is a complete write off. I am so very grateful that they escaped without much injury. DGD2 was largely uninjured but DiL is bruised and battered from head to foot. Because of the force of the impact she was CT scanned in hospital but no internal bleeding or broken bones were found. I could not believe they got out of their vehicle relatively unscathed having seen a photo of it. My son had just landed by plane at LHR when he heard.

Not been a great week with DGS2 and his scarlet fever diagnosed last Sunday. We have a family wedding next weekend. 🤷‍♀️

Enjoy the sunshine forecast today everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 19-May-24 07:57:49

Good morning from a dull Oxfordshire. Dog day today and tomorrow, apart from that ‘just’ the garden to sort, not sure where to start with it really!

Happy Birthday Ash have a lovely day.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday, hugs for those who aren’t feeling so chipper.
