If I ever remember to win the lottery (really should get 'round to it, I know ) I will -
Employ someone purely to refill the birdbath, 5 times already today!grin

What trivial thing would you splash out on ?

Reading this thread I reckon we ought to arrange a swap session…I could happily sort admin, filing, appointments etc. for Not Spaghetti, Casdon and Miss Adventure as I see it as order out of chaos!

So who fancies changing my bed every morning? I don’t mind washing and line drying it myself and have enough sets to see us through a week 😇

I'm up for de-cluttering/cleaning in exchange for prepping & cooking of dinners! Oh Happy days, Pantglas2grin

Empty the dishwasher and re do the salt and rinse aid.

Weekly manicure and hand massage.
Likewise pedicure at least monthly.

Weekly massage, twice weekly wash and blow dry!
Unlike most of you I do the lottery, one ticket on Wednesday and one on Saturday. I win a lot of free "lucky dips" but rarely anything else, and never more than £30.

I would ensure our grandchildren are taken care of when they reach 18. Treat our family to anything they want, take them all on a cruise, get a gardener to come once a week and look after my garden for as many hours that is needed, get a cleaner and go for beauty treatments and massages.

I would pay someone to feed the birds, which I do all year round. They are currently eating me out of house and home and though I enjoy watching them, I confess to finding putting the various different foods in the feeders and refilling the bird baths tedious.

I'd have a huge aquarium built into one of the walls, and people to come round and see to it. smile

A cleaner-upper that perfectly understands the workings of my mind so that they can sort my paperwork, file things, find things, pick up my mess and deliver it to its "home" separate blu tac from hair bobbles, pins, tiddlywinks and sewing thread, put away aforementioned items and know which items I'll be looking for in 5 mins time.

Simple!

This. Sounds brilliant, but only supposing you could find someone who wouldn’t make tooth-sucking noises when doing the filing and putting away AGAIN!!

😩 Good point!

Someone to wash the inside of the windows and to clean the bathrooms and kitchen daily.

yvonnebrown29 Thu 23-May-24 11:16:27

Thats my wish too - hate driving (and parking) lol

orly Thu 23-May-24 11:17:50

I often see pick-up trucks with rolls of turf on the back during the summer and I think to myself that I'd send my lawn away to be cut if I won the Lottery

FranA Thu 23-May-24 11:20:38

Someone to make all my phone calls to listen to the irritating music and fix whatever the irritating problem happened to be.

Annierob Thu 23-May-24 11:20:40

A cook - definitely

madeleine45 Thu 23-May-24 11:25:20

Definitely with the linen sheets, dried outside and ironed , but changed every day!! But to be able to choose shopping without looking at the price, just decide if I want it and get it. Dont think it would work though, am so used to looking at the value of things!

pen50 Thu 23-May-24 11:47:35

Clean sheets on the bed (made by my personal bed servant!) every day.

Strangwendy Thu 23-May-24 12:24:34

Once I’ve had my world cruise, I can’t travel abroad any more due to health reasons and exorbitant health insurance which I could then afford! I would bring back a bus service in my area to allow the elderly no longer driving to get into town for our shopping!

Secondwind Thu 23-May-24 13:00:04

A tidier-upper!

MissAdventure Thu 23-May-24 13:02:46

I could have TWO cats. smile

TanaMa Thu 23-May-24 13:10:33

Another wish for someone to make my bed with lovely clean sheets every day! Love getting into a cold bed - summer and winter!

Yup, and I spend an inordinate amount of time picking up battered bird feeders from the lawn after they have been mobbed by the crows which live in the trees over our hedge.

HousePlantQueen Thu 23-May-24 13:23:22

I would have my bed changed everyday (funny what a popular choice this is!), crisp Egyptian cotton sheets of course. I would like someone who can anticipate what is needed; keep the house clean, the lawn cut, beds weeded, but leave the pottering in the greenhouse bit to me.
Fresh flowers
Wardrobe tidy and laundered
handmade shoes
Someone who can know what I will want for dinner, pop in and cook it without bothering me (maybe while I am in the greenhouse, pottering)
Regular hairdresser, manicure, pedicure

Yes, HPQ, the crows. It’s like watching ‘The Birds’, if you remember that.

ooh! a marine one? We have friends who had one, years ago, and I used to spend hours, sitting on a floor cushion beside it, just watching what was going on. If you get one, I will come and sit beside it, although it may now have to be a high backed chair as I find getting up from floor cushions an undignified process these days. I could perhaps pop a casserole in the oven for you in exchange?

I do! They swing on the feeders, and inevitably it ends up on the ground where the squirrels finish it off. We came back from a few days away ( near where you live, I believe) and it was carnage, broken bird feeders everywhere. I don't have a bird bath as we have a large wild life pond with shallow areas; it can be entertaining watching the blackbirds having a good splash and clean up!
