Random old bloke telling me to ‘Cheer up!’ 😩

I was walking little Gdd2 to her pre school the other day, when the bloke, who was busy in his front garden, said it.

I will be the first to admit that I don’t have a naturally smiley face - I only wish I did - but I was certainly not miserable at the time - maybe a bit preoccupied with getting her there on time - the early morning rush of getting 3 of them breakfasted and out of the door on time, with all their paraphernalia, when dd is away for work, is something I’m just not used to any more!

Anyway, the following day he was there in his front garden again, and the conversation went like this:

‘Was it you who told me to ‘cheer up’ yesterday?’
‘Er, yes!’
‘Well, I wasn’t actually miserable - it’s just my face, I’m afraid. So in future perhaps you’d like to refrain from making such comments to random strangers?’
‘Er, OK.’

Exit me, feeling better!

Obviously it is not a good idea to go to a pub with a man who is going to need a pee. Perhaps we should insist that they go before leaving the house, as we probably did with the DC. Anyway, what sort of lady would find herself in a pub in the first place, I would like to know? shock grin

... a brazen hussy? grin

Oh yes indeed. I like both brazen hussy and strumpet. Think either would be enough to terrify any entitled man in a pub. Go, sisters!!

I wouldn’t have said anything to be honest.
