There are lots of them. The dismissive ones, such as ‘It’s not the end of the world’ that imply you are exaggerating or that your opinion is trivial. The ‘there is no point in arguing as I am right’ ones, such as ‘You can’t argue with facts’, when if people didn’t argue with facts science would be back in the dark ages. There are the supremely confident (arrogant?) ones such as ‘That’s all there is to it., then there are the more bullish ones such as ‘end of’, ‘just saying’, or ‘I’ll tell you what it is . . .’

Actually if someone says it to me it isn't the end of the conversation, it just spurs me on

" I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong ".

There’s also the ‘you do you’ ones, often ended with ‘have a nice day’ for good measure.

Crumbs, there are many.
I may have missed loads.

I even got a bit a bit "insulted" at the first two on here, thinking they were for real!

I am not a person that is insulted easily.

I have probably been insulted many times in real life, and not even noticed!
Probably the best way.

I think the cruellest (but clever) political insult ever was from Benjamin Disraeli, talking about Gladstone, his political enemy.

Anything along lines that imply somebody is intrinsically a bad person are the worst, most wounding put downs I think.

My pet hate - as though I'm not allowed to talk about my kettle going wrong and trouble finding my beautiful new one!

(and yes, it still brings me joy!)

I wonder if I am the only one who thinks that ‘conversations’ are few and far between on here sometimes? A conversation to me is a two ( or maybe more) way exchange, but here it’s often just posters piling on with what they want to say, having paid no attention to others’ comments, (though I do feel this happens often in ‘real life’ conversations too.)
Any exchange is ‘shut down’ for me when it’s obvious few have paid attention to what has gone before, as has been the case recently with old posts being resurrected, but still being replied to as current, even after it has been pointed out in the thread. Of course the advice may still be useful, but it’s hardly what I’d call a conversation.
It’s grand that people can have their say on a thread, but, to me, it sometimes seems that it’s a case of, ‘no point in arguing, as I am right’, as Doodledog mentioned.
I am definitely in grumpy old woman mode this morning.

And I was thinking about in real life, when I started the thread.

I've known a lady for about eight years .
She was very chatty when I bought things in her shop and often minded it when she went to the loo or out for a coffee .
Now when I see her she says , don't let me keep you .
