I have a few bits and bobs to do this morning and then a hair appointment. Sainsbury's delivery at teatime.

Good morning from a local hospital, we arrived at 6.30 for DH’s second cataract op. Paperwork is all done and now the wait as DH is second down.

Food shop today and DH wants to look for some new Sketchers.

Good morning from a bright, but windy Durham. I’ve deliberately had a quiet week -on returning from holiday, it was just full on and a little overwhelming. I hope Harris finds Menorca better than we did - we picked the wrong hotel in the wrong place!
Scaffolding arrived yesterday for a big job on the house - it’s like being in prison. Work starts 8am on Monday.
Gardeners due this afternoon - they’ll have to do their best around the scaffolding.
DD1 and family are coming later as we are eating at a local pub. She mentioned staying over, so we can all enjoy a drink or three.
Pleased Marydoll is getting some help and hoping Gingster’s DD is improving.

Dd has a rheumatologist app today and an appointment for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks. - wheels are turning. 🙏. She assures me she’ll be fine while I’m away. I’m only and hour and a half up the road if needs be. 🤞
Nice charity lunch yesterday. Boring man next to me 😴🥱.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining after more overnight rain.
I was woken at 2 by doors slamming outside. It was an ambulance at my elderly neighbours’ house. It drove off slowly. I’m now unsure what to do. I didn’t ring in the night and they may still be in bed. I’m off out shortly for the day. The family all live in the south. Such a worry.
I had a lovely day in Knaresbrough. We saw the town cryer and had a tasty lunch by the river.
Today it’s Harrogate to meet another friend at Harlow Carr.

Good morning from another grey and damp Suffolk where rain is predicted all day. Yesterday was a mix of bursts of sun and then very heavy rain lasting only a few minutes but designed to thoroughly wet you if caught without an umbrella.

I have my usual Thursday morning stretch class and then I suspect I’ll try and clear the ironing pile. I had planned to start sorting out clothes for the charity shop but this plan may be aborted by a quiet afternoon reading in the summerhouse.

Why do today what I can put off til tomorrow? I’m hugely impressed by the activities of some of you but we are all different,aren’t we?

Light showers and a moderate breeze forecast so not an ideal day for outdoor activities but at least it isn’t cold. Oldies coffee morning will be outside so not a pleasure and I might not bother. Life feels like a monumental effort and I don’t have the health problems of so many so feel I really must try harder. Hope the medication helps Marydoll who bravely keeps going and is, as has been noted, an inspiration.

I have been thinking it’s Friday and of course it isn’t, so U3A book group here this morning and optician this afternoon. What ever is the matter with me? Good thing I checked!

Good morning from a dull & damp Sefton. At least it's not actually raining. I cannot bring myself to look up the forecast. This dull, damp weather is so dispiriting. The sun is up there but why does it wait until 5 o'clock to appear? A busy day yesterday. Zoom Zumba first thing, then off to Pilates in a nearby town. Lunch on the hoof & then a full afternoon of 'child care' as it is half term. The other granny did the morning 'shift'.
My Zumba class is cancelled this morning so just need to call at the visiting fish van & then a quick food shop. A snail hunt is called for this afternoon. They are getting into my garden box & feasting on cardboard boxes. It seems they can get it but not get out... I will help them.

SIL didn't come yesterday, he was waiting for a delivery so we are going shopping today.

Morning from a grey, drizzly S Hants. ENT appointment at 10, when we return I’ll get a wash on.
Yesterday was a pottering day with an afternoon blood test, like you Gala from about 5 is the sunniest part of the day.
I shall check for mollusc damage later too, they really are persistent little sods this year.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and dull Northampton. Rain forecast again today at some time so I am going to try and get the back grass cut before it's wet again.

Had a good hair consultation yesterday with a new hairdresser; she knew exactly what I wanted; we decided on colours and I have an appointment in two weeks.

Two missing at book club yesterday; one member has broken her leg ( just walking to the bus stop apparently), and the other one (who usually gives me a lift) just did not turn up, and is not responding to texts or e-mails,.which is a bit worrying.
We were all of the same mind regarding 'The God of Small Things' which we agreed is probably the worst book we have read!
I am glad to say the next book is very enjoyable and I have read half of it since Monday.

Glammagran, you would love the Cazalet Chronicles! I read all 5 books in the series over Christmas and New Year.

Grass cutting this morning, then a Sainsbury's delivery, and another afternoon of reading.
Easy.dinner tonight, home-made Bolognese from the freezer.

Good morning all from a damp and (looking chilly out) south Manchester. We were asleep by 10pm last night and didn’t wake properly until 8am. I can understand why for Himself as it was post chemo day but why me? I must just like keeping him company.

No plans at all for today. Thursday is usually our ‘date night’ but as we are out for meals Saturday and Sunday, I’m not sure about tonight. Maybe if it stops raining we could just walk over the road to the pub. Himself only has AF lager nowadays but we both enjoy the change of four walls and people watching!

Morning from South Lanarkshire, reasonably bright but chilly.

A lovely long lunch at the farm yesterday, both granddaughters home from Uni and great company, it was really good fun.

Heading to visit my 89 year old sister in law today. It’s quite a journey now that I don’t drive, an hour into Glasgow on the bus and then a half hour journey out to her. DD4 works in the Police headquarters near her and would drop me off when she is on back shift so I only have the journey one way but so far we haven’t been able to coordinate that. Never mind I’m getting lots of reading done!

Just a quiet day yesterday and my sore jaw seems to be settling down, fingers crossed.
Returned to watching Miss Marple on tv, but annoyed with myself as I thought I had listed the episodes watched, but can’t find it and hate rewatching things…

Today to hairdresser for my colour and highlights against holiday abroad soon and will try out my singing voice, it’s getting rusty.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 14°C.

Yesterday’s shopping trip was only partially successful. I managed to buy some of my favourite Greek yogurts and had a little browse. The main object of the trip was a failure as my prescription wasn’t ready, so I need to go back tomorrow.

Today I have a small wash load to do, yesterday’s now dry washing to fold and put away, then hopefully a walk later.

Sneaking in before morning becomes afternoon!
Waitrose delivery this morning and then I am out to lunch with my half brother’s adoptive cousin (ie through his adoptive family) who happens to live just 3 miles from me and with mutual friends.
One of life’s coincidences.
Oh what a surprise, it’s raining! Yesterday was lovely and maybe tomorrow will be lovely, but today - earmarked for a local builder to repoint the patio- is of course too wet for him to do it.
Hmm.
I decided to swap my deep rust dining room curtains for lighter semi sheer fine cotton thus declaring official summer. Glad I’ve done it- the heavy ones have deep gold elephants and look perfect with the walls (F&B Cream, which is quite buttery) but feel very “warm”. These let the sunlight in - when there is any!
