What is the weather like where you are?
Here in the NW it is cold and pouring with rain.
We have had a very few warm, almost hot, days but not in June it is like early spring or Autumn.
My jumpers, ready washed to put away are back in use.
I haven’t changed to my summer duvet and feel I never will this year.
I am very loathe to put the CH on but I hate feeling so miserable.
Global warming?
It doesn’t seem to be happening here.

10 degrees here wind blowing a hooly and driving rain

Here is the south east we have only had a handful of warm days. We often put on the gas fire in the evening. I’m back to wearing leggings under my trousers and whilst eating my breakfast today I am wrapped in a rug 😳

I’m in Berkshire BlueBelle although currently on holiday in Cornwall.

Lots of sun here but it’s the northerly wind which makes it feel so chilly.
Anyway it’s dry so we go out somewhere each day.

Isle of Man not much better, it's 11c, yesterday cuddled a hot water bottle all day, lol. Thought about heating but the hottie and then a blanket plus an extra hoodie on top of my sweat shirt did the job. Sun's shining tho!

We had our heating on for half an hour yesterday here on the Fylde coast. Annsixty asks "Global warming?"
Either that or Brexit!grin

Just about to have hot soup lunch, have put heating on, I’m just so cold, have to walk dog in an hour or so, apparently it’s going to rain again, I’m so down in the dumps ☹️

Wet windy and chilly for June in West Central Scotland

Jess20 Mon 10-Jun-24 12:16:23

Climate change won't necessarily make the UK warmer, if the AMOC, gulf stream, slows or stops we may be quite a bit colder.

Nearly 40 degrees in the Cyclades! We came in early June to avoid the heat. Night before we came ch was on and we were so looking forward to the sun. It’s been so hot here that we have to go out very early then come back to our apartment by late morning and throughout the afternoon so we can have some shade. I keep worrying about the garden drying out until I remember that it’s only been 13 degrees and raining at home.

It’s cold wet and windy here in Cheshire. The sun comes out for a short time then the rain clouds gather again. I have hung some towels on the line and the rain is spotting. I will leave them outside and hope the wind blows the clouds away .We have a good electric fire which is on for a short while when the temperature falls.I am reluctant to put the central heating on, I will just put a cardigan on to keep warm.

Here in North Norfolk for a few days and it's freezing, very windy and frequent squally blasts of rain. This time last year we were also in Norfolk and it was in the 30s every day.

My bit of South Wales has had a few days with sunshine early in the day, with clouds coming and going, but the wind is the killer! If working in the garden I can get away with no jacket, but it is not really warm enough to want to sit out. I think showers have been forecast for most of the week!

It's reasonably warm in the midlands but there's a slight chill. In my house, though, I've been wearing a blanket because it's really quite cold.

pen50 Mon 10-Jun-24 13:44:53

Our central heating has been blipping on and off. Flaming June, hah!

mrsgreenfingers56 Mon 10-Jun-24 13:46:46

Was miserable, rainy, cold and windy day yesterday in NW of England, not raining today but very cool.

We last had a good summer during Covid BlueBelle, I remember complaining about the heat and having to walk the dog at 5am and 10pm., that was 3 years ago, just after we got her.
My heating came on this morning and I have lit the wood burner several afternoons over the last couple of weeks, ridiculous for June.
It’s sunny here (south Glos) but a fresh breeze, really pleasant if you can find a spot out of the wind.

polnan Mon 10-Jun-24 15:25:35

north of the South West, ie. Swindon area , heating been put on several times this "summer" just a quick splurge, takes the damp chill off... and heating blanket on bed on occasion!

not buying any more summer clothes,, getting ready for winter garments!

MadeInYorkshire Mon 10-Jun-24 15:28:18

Yet, last week the msm were reporting that it had been the warmest May since records began??? That is just a lie ...

Gingster Mon 10-Jun-24 15:36:27

Very cold here in Essex. I walked the dog and I needed a hat, gloves and a warm coat. Couldn’t wait to get back home. 🥶

It’s sunny and warm now from inside the conservatory.

Anneeba Mon 10-Jun-24 15:44:31

N Herts here and we've just had hailstones bouncing 4" high off the lawn. Now it's finished the starlings and sparrows are swarming over the garden pulling out all the worms. I wish they'd concentrate more on all the wretched slugs that have decimated my vegetables.

2oaktrees Mon 10-Jun-24 15:50:38

A cold wind today in Poole but we ate a pub lunch in the garden with our coats on but it seems to me if we have a hot May and June then July and August the opposite.

RosemaryAnne Mon 10-Jun-24 16:06:45

Extremely windy and wet here this morning. Sunny now but it's not very warm. In just over a week the days start to get shorter too. What's happened to Summer?

AGAA4 Mon 10-Jun-24 16:23:46

I've had the heating on for a short time most days recently. I hate being cold. It's grey and windy here in N. Wales this afternoon.
