What is the weather like where you are?
Here in the NW it is cold and pouring with rain.
We have had a very few warm, almost hot, days but not in June it is like early spring or Autumn.
My jumpers, ready washed to put away are back in use.
I haven’t changed to my summer duvet and feel I never will this year.
I am very loathe to put the CH on but I hate feeling so miserable.
Global warming?
It doesn’t seem to be happening here.

Lucky you GG13! Please budge up on that sun lounger it sounds bliss!

Rain here. Chilly. When we dropped my stepfather off after taking him to M&S his house was lovely and warm. ‘I’ve had the heating on’. Good for him, he’s elderly, a bit less robust these days and losing muscle mass so he feels the cold more.

I’ve had a couple of days in Shropshire, the sun came out in the afternoon but there was a chill wind. Home in the north west, torrential rain on the M56 but dry at home in north Manchester. But it’s cold. I’m in a jumper with a blanket over my knees]
Fed up with it

18 degrees in Surrey . This morning was sunny and I had to take off my hoody when dog walking . I’ve spent the day gardening, sunny spells and clouds. It’s 15 degrees at 7.30 , so no heating needed .

I’m quite warm sat here in a sleeveless dress which I’ve worn all day (two different dresses). 1 tog quilt on my bed. Put my fleece on to do gardening but soon had to take it off.

A very chilly 14 degrees in Bristol and a never ending wind. I've had the heating on most evenings this year, including tonight.

Bellasnana Sun 09-Jun-24 20:33:11

Here in Malta it has been a very hot day 33°C. It’s 9.30pm now and still 23.9°C which means the fan will be on all night.

It’s bearable but during July and August it gets too hot for comfort. Isn’t it a pity we can’t share the weather out a bit more evenly. I don’t like being cold but there is a happy medium!

It’s been up to 23° here today in the Algarve. But it’s been heavy cloud and chilly in the mornings with intermittent showers as well. I say showers, it has rained but barely enough to wet the patio and certainly not enough to do any good to the garden.

Well I’ve just come up to bed so I have switched the heating off but after a brief dry spell it is pouring with rain.
No watering here.

I put the heating on around 9pm. It's cold here and have had the heating on in the late evening for most of June to take the chill off.
Northamptonshire.

Holidaying in the Yorkshire Dales. 12 degrees tomorrow. Wednesday overnight set to be 4 degrees. Unbelievable.

Well thank goodness for global warming is all I can say!
Imagine how cold it would be without it !

Actually I don’t mind having a cooler start to summer this year after the last two or three hot ones.

It just shows how the weather always seems to adjust with cooler weather and plenty of wet days following a run of hotter, dry summers.

It’s more like autumn than early summer here. I haven’t put away my winter clothing as I still need it (not the thickest jumpers and coats though) - no hope of wearing light weight summer wear yet, certainly not sandals (except for one day, mid May).

The heating comes on automatically, and so there have been one or two mornings this last week or so when the heating has kicked on for a short time.

I keep hoping that it will warm up a touch in the next week or so (though not to the extent we had July 2022), but looking at the longish range forecast, ie, for the next fortnight, it’s not looking great. As I type, it’s chucking it down.

My poor tomato plants are really struggling at the moment.

DGGD's second birthday. Cold but dry. Last year, it was boiling! Patio doors had to be open so that all the invited children could play with the small bouncy castle and a surprising number of outdoor toys. How has she managed to accumulate so many in just two years? They all had a fine time, no quarrels, no tears. Parents, GPs and GGM enjoyed a few(?) drinks and DS1 tended the barbecue. So despite the weather, it was a good party. Now I am just about feeling warm. The forecast is decidedly non-summery.

It's been sunny here in central Scotland but with a cold wind. I had the central heating on for a little while last night.

BlueBelle Mon 10-Jun-24 07:10:39

I don’t know where you live Jennifereccles but we haven’t had what I call a good summer for a long time There were some lovely warm days (some call hot) last years but interspersed with cold and wet and we had wind nearly all the time ( although nothing as bad as this year I agree)

I m depressed waking up every day to wet wind and blooming cold exactly what it is today wet windy and novemberish

downtoearth Mon 10-Jun-24 08:31:29

Horse chestnut tree in communal garden has conkers on it already, wet windy and 9 degrees.

Iam64 Mon 10-Jun-24 08:32:51

My central heating switched itself on this morning. It’s bright, sunny with a cold wind but - no rain 🙏🏽🌻

harrigran Mon 10-Jun-24 09:01:27

My heating has been on every day, even if it is milder the wind makes it feel chilly.

Primrose53 Mon 10-Jun-24 09:05:57

After a week on Ibiza I was so cold I put heating on last night!
ibiza was just wonderful, bright blue skies and temp jp to 28c every day. had to sit in shade at lunchtime but walking home late at night in just sleeves was lovely.

Cold and raining in N Norfolk today.

Maya1 Mon 10-Jun-24 09:16:39

Cool and raining in Mid East Anglia. I'm in a sweatshirt and jeans and needed a long rain coat to walk Toby.
Long range weather forecast for this area is rain. It would be nice to be able to wear some of my many summer clothes.
As Bluebelle mentioned it can be very depressing when the weather is so damp, grey and cold.

Luckygirl3 Mon 10-Jun-24 09:18:03

The sun is out, but the wind is punishing. I put the heating on briefly yesterday evening, but then I do have covid!

keepingquiet Mon 10-Jun-24 09:20:16

Climate change- not global warming.

If not for the jet stream our weather would be a whole lot worse!

Witzend Mon 10-Jun-24 09:20:48

It’s been blowing a gale here (outer SW London) and I was woken by the sound of heavy rain.
Sun is out now and the temp outside the kitchen window is 15.6, but it’s still very windy.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 10-Jun-24 09:24:43

It’s quite cold in East Yorkshire this morning the sun keeps coming out and playing peep po (sp) with us. I put the ch on. It was on for about 15 minutes then DH came in after his shower and switched it off. Consequently there isn’t a lot of chat between us this morning 😬
