I plan to start my refurbishment of a bird table which someone threw out and which needs some tlc I plan to paint it blue. Also swimming later, but a bit of tiidying up first. The joys of retirement!

Moving pots around on my patio, watching two male robins competing for the insects. One robin sits on my knee when I stop for a breather. 😊

Finish touches to my watercolour painting, using gouache.

I might get the iron out as the pile is getting quite high.

Out to lunch with my friend, we do it once a month. Her DH transports us and it is lovely to see him too as he is my late DH's cousin.

Parsley3 Fri 21-Jun-24 08:25:47

After brunch, a visit to a NT property and then an afternoon in Stratford on Avon. I hope the weather stays fine.

DanniRae

At 10.30ish this morning MrR and I are meeting our new baby grandson! He was born on Wednesday and we can't wait to see him smile

Congratulations! How exciting.

RosesandLilac Fri 21-Jun-24 11:30:36

How lovely DanniRae!
I have done 3 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen and vacuumed through downstairs.
Salad for lunch and I’m hoping that the sun will come out - I want to sit in the garden and read this afternoon.
A dog walk later, and a quiet evening.

Mollygo Sat 22-Jun-24 13:10:16

It’s sunny, it’s Saturday and I don’t have to do anything (except walk the dog, which I did early.) So nice to take a cup of tea and my Kindle into the garden. Must remember sunglasses. Evidently exposure to bright sunlight contributes to macular degeneration.

Thank you CanadianGran, he is struggling a bit with sore sternum good to know this is normal. Pleased to hear your DH continues to do well 😊

LucyAnna2 Sat 22-Jun-24 19:08:06

Had a lovely day today - visits from DD, DS and GC - picnic food in the garden, then a long ramble with everyone.
Having a chilled glass of wine now smile and reading the papers.

Mizuna Sun 23-Jun-24 08:36:25

Sitting on my patio with a coffee, doing my daily reading under an umbrella. It's mizzle rather than rain but is very refreshing.

pascal30 Sun 23-Jun-24 09:01:51

going off to see a food talk by the last Masterchef winner,, and two other chefs with cookery displays.. yum.and tastings... to promote their latest books

LucyAnna2 Sun 23-Jun-24 09:05:50

Ooh, sounds interesting, pascal.
We had a busy day yesterday, so planning on a low key one today. Seems like it’s going to be really warm, so must water the allotment later. Lots of broad beans at the moment.

merlotgran Sun 23-Jun-24 09:16:12

Morning all. Another lovely sunny day so the garden will take up most of my time. Hope everyone has a good day.

Saturn Sun 23-Jun-24 09:49:55

Quiet day today, a bit of gardening,
& sitting in the garden making the most of this lovely weather. Photochromic lens glasses on, I have early macular changes in both eyes being monitored at the moment. Have a good day everyone 😊

Parsley3 Mon 24-Jun-24 09:56:40

I am having lunch with friends today and then picking up my vacuum cleaner that has been mended at a local repair shop.

LucyAnna2 Mon 24-Jun-24 10:05:00

Due to be hot here today, so I’m pottering in the garden this morning, before it gets too warm. Meeting a friend in town this afternoon for tea, cake and a catch up. It’s a cafe by the river, so hopefully a bit of a breeze there.

twinnytwin Mon 24-Jun-24 10:16:18

After pottering around emptying the dishwasher, watering the houseplants and showering, I plan to spend the day continuing to sew a new summer dress. I love to sew and always have a project on the go.

HelterSkelter1 Mon 24-Jun-24 10:21:11

Up very early at 5.00. Perfect time to potter in the garden in crocs and Jim jams. Waiting now to ring the hospital and see if DH is being discharged today after a TIA and heart problems last week. The garden takes my mind off all the worries.
The temperature out there is perfect. Would love this all summer.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 24-Jun-24 12:49:41

I hope that you have had good news Helter-skelter.
Monday is volunteering day for me - morning at foodbank and just now off to help out at a school. I did squeeze in a little sneaky gardening moment in the glorious sunshine.

Mollygo Mon 24-Jun-24 14:08:45

It’s summer -at least for a few days. Walked the dog along the seafront while it was still coolish, went to aquafit (no one mentions that the water was cold) took DD shopping as I had some use-by dated vouchers for stuff she likes and I don’t. Now I’m relaxing in the shade. Next task is sewing buttons back on DH’s shirts. How do they come loose so often?

henetha Tue 25-Jun-24 10:03:24

Having a dexa bone scan which I hope will help sort out my back problems.

LucyAnna2 Tue 25-Jun-24 10:14:36

Good luck with your scan, henetha
Very warm here again today, so just given the pots in the garden some water. The cosmos from seed are doing well - a bright splash of colour in my mostly pastel coloured garden!

henetha Tue 25-Jun-24 23:38:41

Thanks Lucyanna2. I appreciate that.
It was all hugely disappointing and tells me nothing.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 26-Jun-24 08:44:30

I've put clean, dry washing away.
Changed my bed, got the washer on.
I'll hang that out soon.
I've fed the birds and squirrels.
Vacuuming and polishing later.
Family buffet at Son2's, at 5, to celebrate their baby's 1st birthday.

Mollygo Wed 26-Jun-24 08:49:28

I love these light mornings.
Early swim. I thought I’d be back before the workmen arrived but they were there at 07.45! Good news is that we can do a coastal walk and lunch out, since they reckon they’ll have finished by 09.30.
