Doodle...it is still very early days for you... Just try and take each day as it is...some will feel easier than others...and on those days when you don't want to face the world...go with that too. It's a cliche I know but the pain will ease...and the hurt not so raw and until that time we are here for you.

Grandmarie....snap re knees. I had my first physio yesterday on my fractured knee cap. It's not a displaced fracture but ooh it does hurt still ( 4 weeks ). Some of the exercises hurt more than others and are to build up the muscles in my thigh and calf again. I'm glad I had already been going to the gym so the wastage is limited. Straight leg lifting is a challenge but I cheated and did them in the bath. Some of the nicest pictures of the wedding have been standing flamingo style on one leg😂 I hope yours improve soon. X

I'm having a fairly lazy day today ahead of the marathon 18 hour day tomorrow as a Presiding Officer at the polling station. DH is my poll clerk. Thankfully the IBS attack that floored me from Friday to Monday has gone as that would have made life very difficult!!!!!!!.
So now here is question ladies....is there an upper age for wearing thongs? My DGF nearly passed out when I told her I wore one under my wedding outfit last week. She said she only bought ( a substantial thong ...whatever that might be) once and spent the whole day like a rabid dog backing into corners so she could rearrange the blasted thing and it didn't see a second outing. Just asking....if nothing else it may have made you giggle.

Thank you, Neine, sorry to hear that your knee is still painful, hope your physio helps. Good idea to do exercise in the bath. I found walking in the pool quite helpful.

The kitchen has had me giggling today what with substantial thongs and that author's name change.

We are having a busy time at the moment as both DH's older brothers are ill - one very seriously. And his younger brother has advanced Dementia.

We are being as supportive as we can but it is quite draining.

DGS is settling in for his sleepover, he’s into playing Chess at the moment so it could be a long evening - not my favourite game but better than monopoly

I have worn a thong when I was much much younger and didn’t find it too uncomfortable but I should think that a substantial one would be very uncomfortable! I hope your day goes well tomorrow.

Neine I am on the large side, so wearing a thong would be like a turkey trussed for Christmas! Brook we have torrential rain here now. I've had to put the lights on because it was so dark. I made gooseberry jam and jelly today, weeded and tidied the garden and did an ironing. I've pottered about and achieved lots of small goals so I'm quite content. Have a good evening Kitcheners

I did a bit of planning for our forthcoming holiday before going to the dentist. I had to have a filling and fortunately my Portuguese dentist is very gentle. I got home 10 minutes before my WI committee meeting started but I got there on time. Just.

It’s my son and his partner, he hasn’t asked her yet and probably a very low key occasion, they’re not that well off. So maybe a frock, I doubt a hat!! We’ll be very happy for them, she’s a smashing girl.

A low key wedding is just as romantic and full of meaning as a full blown affair with out all the angst and the stress.

I am so pleased to have slept in my own bed last night, my little jaunt away was “interesting” who would have chosen to stay at a Premier Inn attached to a Beefeater in the week all the restaurants are closing and the staff losing their jobs?

Off to vote shortly - well once I am up and dressed! Mustn’t frighten the clerks! Not an early start today, unlike yesterday (hairdresser) and tomorrow (hospital). Today I must pick the gooseberries before they all fall off and then I have various things to shorten for both DH and me. I shall try picking the gooseberries from a chair as it’s bending and straightening that hurts my knee most.

Hello kitchen people. It’s windy here and the trees are blowing wildly.

OH has just gone to see a physio (again) about his knees. He just needs to be put on a waiting list for an operation. The jabs don’t work any more and the x-rays prove that both knees are shot.

I’ve typed up the notes from last night’s committee meeting, moved some money around, popped over to see a friend and done most of my packing. We can’t enter the holiday house in Devon until 4 pm tomorrow so don’t need to leave until around 11 am. We will probably have lunch on the way,

I’m just home from a busy day, DGS this morning, volunteering this afternoon and then both DGC are coming round tonight for a sleepover - They’ll no doubt be bickering 🤦‍♀️
It was raining this morning so we took DGS to Culloden Battlefield visitor centre for a look round. We’re NTS members so it didn’t cost us anything to go in but it did cost £12.45 for 2 cappuccinos and a hot chocolate! I think I’m out of touch with current prices but it seemed excessive to me 😳

Hi all, a very windy day, more new potatoes out of the garden for dinner and some beetroot to be cooked, I’m hoping we get the promised rain overnight.
Voted this morning, very quiet at 9:30, then I was off to the farm shop, their potatoes, not new, were very small, I dislike peeling the small ones, so I left it.

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Sorry to hear of so many suffering with their knees. I'm finding my exercises quite hard, especially the knee bend and knee hug, but I'm persevering because the GP said it should respond to physio. 🤞🤞Also, I'm paying £45 a session so I'd like to get my money's worth. NHS waiting list is 26 weeks just now, I couldn't go on like this til Christmas. Thinking of everyone with pain and mobility issues.

Wimbledon is to blame.
There have been far too many long and exciting matches.
The tribute to Andy Murray was extremely moving. We were both in tears. What an amazing champion he has proved to be.
Apart from that, our neighbours invited us out for lunch...a happy, chatty treat.
Tomorrow, we both have dental appointments late morning. In the afternoon, I have an appointment with the hairdresser.
At the weekend, youngest son and his partner will be travelling from London to spend a couple of days with us.
A bithee, bithee time.

Hope the dentist appointments have gone ok today soop and so lovely to have a family visit to look forward to at the weekend as well
We’ve had both DGC here today, we tempted them out for a walk in the local woods this morning, lots of hide and seek and climbing. Apart from a couple of instances they managed to play well together for most of the day
We’re still waiting for our election result in Inverness to be declared- the last one in the whole of the UK ! Apparently there’s a discrepancy in the numbers and it won’t be sorted until tomorrow

It’s been thoroughly miserable here today, yes, I wanted rain, but warm rain would’ve been nice.
Tesco delivered and we’ve been to see Imogen off to her prom, shame it’s not blue skies, but I’m sure they’ll have a great evening.
