Welcome dear Kitcheners. Enjoy the buffet and make yourselves comfortable. You are all extra special peoples (as our grandson used to say).
and a huge hug.
NannyG4 how upsetting for you and your DH. Hopefully he'll settle in time. Dgs2 is still napping 🤞 Dgs1 is watching tv quietly. Today has been a good day. ( I exhausted them at soft play 😂)
Urms best wishes to 'Himself' for the final chemo today and fingers crossed and prayers for the best results from the scan.
To all others in need of hugs, love and prayers I'll be thinking positive thoughts and offering prayers. Take care
Hello kitchen people.
It’s still wet and definitely not warm in Devon! We visited a NT property today - Coleton Fishacre. It was quite impressive and we were drawn to a second hand book ‘shed’! OH bought four books and I bought two. Annoyingly I had a bad tummy upset when we arrived at CF which left me feeling washed out, but I perked up. Well, I had to seeing as I was driving!
OH will be watching football later. I’ll either read or find something to watch on my iPad. At the moment he is having a swim so I hope his head wound is ok.
Have a good evening.
I’m sorry to hear that NannyG4 distressing for you both, I can only hope that time resolves the upset.
I finished my week of BP measurements at home, boy I detest that little buzzy machine, now back in its box to be hidden away.
It’s rained, again, nearly all day, dull and feels chilly, this ‘sunny south’ is a misnomer right now.
I hope the boys have given you an easy afternoon Grandmabatty and you have your feet up.
Football tonight, I’ll be allez les bleus 🇫🇷.
NannyG4 sending you a big (((hug)))
So difficult nannyG4 thinking of you and sending a gentle hug x
Hoping your BP results are ok Jax, I also hate that buzzing machine! x
Hello lovely Kitcheners.Thinking of NannyG and all good wishes to Urms and himself.
DH has an appointment for Monday with a bowel surgeon.Hopeful he can help but feeling very anxious.
Also our son’s wedding is the end of August so not sure if we will make it,Monday can’t come soon enough.
Thinking of you all and thank you for your support.
Jaxjacky the boys were as good as gold this afternoon, thank you. They were very good. Dgs2 slept for nearly three hours. Dgs1 watched TV and played on his iPad quietly to let him sleep. I've had boeuf bourguinon and garlic mash and I'm resting on the couch. Yiayia my best wishes to both of you. I'll be thinking of all the poorly people and their family. A peaceful evening ahead for me. Night night Kitcheners
Yia hoping all goes well on Monday and a treatment plan is sorted, thinking of you and your DH x
Well done grandmabatty another successful day, hope you sleep well tonight
NannyG I hope your DH settles soon. My mum phoned us at 7am after her first night demanding that we take her home but she soon settled. It’s hard to be the one saying no.
Good morning all.
I can’t comment on the weather as I have deliberately not opened the curtains yet.
It is too depressing although it reached 20 degrees last evening.
Last week was not my best week but over it now.
My D is 59 today, older than some GN’s I think, her D was 22 yesterday and I will be an unbelievable 87 on Friday, how did that all happen?
A friend is coming for coffee and cake this afternoon, followed by Sainsbury’s delivery between 4&5pm and then the football.
I have no high hopes for that and believe after last night’s superb match that we saw the winners of the tournament in the Spanish team.
I must get on and get a shower so I hope that you will all have the best day you can.
I know for some it is a very stressful time and as I have “been there and done that” my thoughts are very much with you.
Prayers too if you would like them.
Nice to hear from you Annsixty enjoy your day.
Urms ,*NannyG4*, thinking of you both and all who are going through worrying times.
Dragonfly waiting for scan and then results is horrid here's hoping all is good.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, we’ve had non stop heavy rain all day here today ☔️☔️☔️
No chance of gardening so I’ve been making best use of the day by cleaning the spare guest rooms and changing the bedding in readiness for DD1s and DGSs visit at the end of next week. I’m really looking forward to seeing them all
DHs attempt at unblocking the outside drain hasn’t worked, we might have to call in the professionals
Lots of birthdays to celebrate this week annsixty I especially hope you enjoy your day on Friday 💐
Thinking of all our kitcheners struggling with difficult times just now, sending hugs
Brook I am impressed by your productivity! It hasn't rained here as such, just spitting rain. However it is very cool for the season. I have not been productive but rather lazy. I've tidied up and cleaned the burned bits off the jam pot which took ages. I could do the ironing but I'm resisting the urge. I have hoovered throughout so I have a sort of domestic halo shining. I was going to make a watermelon and feta salad for dinner but it's too cold so it'll be pie and beans instead. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.
Just for a change it’s been dry, windy with bursts of sun. We’ve had Imogen here, she’s had a tidy up upstairs, her autism contributes I think to liking order. She’s coming back next week to sort the kitchen cupboards, brave lass, said she’s looking forward to it!! We, or rather she, lifted some new potatoes to take home and picked the first cucumber from the greenhouse, I pickled beetroot picked yesterday.
🏴🏴🤞😴
Jaxjacky will Imogen sort out my kitchen cupboards? They badly need it!
I think there may be some embarrassment from us Grandmabatty one cupboard is full of ‘useful things’.
Could I also join the queue to borrow Imogen Jax if that’s ok - there’s always lots of tidying up needed here - seriously though she sounds like such a lovely helpful girl
We’ve not seen much of the DGC this week even though it’s the school holidays as they’ve been staying with their dad. I can’t comment too much really but I’ll be happier when they’re back home
It’s still raining, I’ve not been outside at all today except to the bin, we’ve a little garden pond that’s overflowing and now matches the blocked drain - hopefully it’ll stop raining soon
Well done with growing the veg Jax must be lovely to have home grown produce
You’ve been busy too today gtandmabatty so pie and beans sounds good, we’re having quick and easy cauliflower cheese with a crispy topping and salad
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.
Yesterday DDIL1 and DGD came to drop off Grandpup, ahead of their holiday. My goodness, the amount of stuff that came with her...her crate, blankets, food, toys, Her " sniff mat' is on my fireside rug...I didn't know there was such a thing! 🤣
Well , so far she has been very good. When I am elevating/ icing my knee, she comes up beside me on the sofa and licks the bag of frozen peas. DS3 and lovely girlfriend came after work to take her a walk, I can manage to take her out briefly as required.
She's good company for us.
Jaxjacky, Imogen could turn that hobby into a lucrative holiday job! But I'd have to tidy my cupboards before I let her near them.🤣
Grandmabatty, that sounds like a lovely day with your wee boys. Your DGS1 is so good, playing quietly to let his brother sleep.
Annsixty, many happy returns of the day for your birthday on Friday, I hope you have a lovely day 💐
Brook, there's a nice feeling of satisfaction to be found in preparing a welcoming room for loved ones coming, well done! Only thing is, it takes me twice as long nowadays.
I hope Himself is comfortable today after his final chemo, hoping and praying for good news from the scan on Friday.
Thank you for your update, YiaYia, I'm glad your DH is being seen soon. I'll be remembering you both in my prayers, especially on Monday.
NannyG4, I hope your DH becomes more settled in the Nursing home day by day. Thinking of you both and all your family, sending love and prayers.
Thinking of all who are ill, and those who love them and care for them. Remembering those who are grieving. 💕🙏 So many lovely Kitchen folk with much to bear.
A showery, cool day here. Fingers crossed for some sunny weather soon, especially for those on their travels or school holidays. ☀
Salmon and rainbow couscous for dinner here, easy and healthy!
Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday evening. TOYA, NNGB.
Hello kitchen people.
OH is watching England - Holland just scored. I’m reading a Kathy Reichs book for the moment until 9 pm. I will then go upstairs and watch the Sewing Bee.
We visited Agatha Christie’s holiday home today and loved it.
I’m thinking of so many of you with difficulties.
Good evening everyone
Brook I used to have nightmares that our garden pond would overflow and all the fish would be stranded on the lawn! It didn’t happen fortunately.
yia I hope your DH’s consultation on Monday is helpful and that some treatment can be started soon.
NannyG4 I hope that your DH soon settles in the nursing home, it must be so distressing for you to see him unhappy.
Sending sympathies to all who are suffering in any way.
Happy Birthday for Friday Ann, have a great day.
