Jaxjacky congratulations to your son and fiancée. Lovely news. Annsixty I'm glad you had a nice

Cornergran it's nice to see you posting.

Naughtyneine Sat 13-Jul-24 08:22:34

I'm beginning to feel optimistic that our lovely kitchen is recovering from the debacle of last month with Corner and Urms popping in...
A wedding Jax... How lovely...any idea when it will be yet?
I'm at the in laws just now preparing to mix concrete ( not)...The biggest excitement of the weekend is a hearing test at Costco in Southampton ahead of getting a hearing aid ( apparently theirs are really good and much cheaper than Boots etc). A virus at age 11 left me with tinnitus and deafness in my left ear which is now much worse so I'm hoping they will be able to help. The level that it is worse at is female speech so it's vital to sort it out as I'm missing all the gossip. Have a good Saturday everyone and 🙏for those troubled in any way.

Good evening kitchen pals, we’ve had grey cloud and light drizzle most of the day, still no sign of the sun yet
A quick trip to the garden centre and to Tescos was about it for today, I tried to do some gardening but everything was wet so not much luck. DGS has gone off today to a week long Scout camp at Lochgoilhead. He’s been to the camp the last couple of years but that was with the cubs, he’s just moved up to Scouts now so it’s a new adventure. I hope the weather stays dry as they’ve a week of outdoor activities planned!
Hope you got your hearing aid sorted neine and you can stay tuned in to the gossip now
We’ve just had home made fish, chips and peas so settling on the sofa now
Take care all x

Jaxjacky Sat 13-Jul-24 20:59:24

No idea neine I’ll ask next time I see them, I hope you get your hearing sorted, mine get waxed up, it’s frustrating.
MrJ has played at a charity golf day, they all got wet, he came home about 45 minutes ago from the prize giving, none for him, he’ll sleep well tonight.
I’ve done a little weeding, read the paper, moved washing in and out of the garden and cooked a roast, that’ll do. I hope it stays dry for your grandson brook it’s a beautiful place, as is so much of Scotland.

Thank you Jax

Hello kitchen people.

I’ve had a quiet day. Still recovering from our Devon holiday. I’m off to Helsinki on Monday, but I won’t be driving on narrow, bendy roads!

I called in to see my friend over the road. She looked after the cats while we were away. I always bring a. Little something back to thank her.

OH watched tennis while I returned a pair of sandals which were too small,

It is Milo and Ripley’s 14th (72 in human years) birthday today. I bought them a packet of Dreamies for a treat.

Have a good evening, especially those of you having a hard time.

Just popping in to say 'Goodnight and God Bless' to all you lovely lot....
Hope everyone is as well as they can be under their circumstances.
Life very much the same, spending days at the nursung hone, DH a little more settled but I do worry about him when I'm not there, they are so short staffed!
My sister is staying near us this weekend, so have had a lovely evening with her, had a lovely walk to the beach and witnessed a beautiful sunset!! So good for the soul.
Sleep well my friends. Xx

soop has that minx Sweetie Pie popped in for a meal or three recently?

Tomorrow will be a busy day watching the men's finals and then the match of the century. I have an easy meal sorted and will decide tomorrow night whether I will open a bottle of wine.

It will take more than one miracle to beat Spain but crazier things have happened. I believe Prince George is attending with William so they will hopefully bring good luck.

Please look after yourselves,

Good afternoon, another dull and damp day here in Stockport.
I am very happy and grateful but I must confess to being “ “bithdayed out”
I am so tired.one last meal early evening today and then home to watch the football on my new, all singing, all dancing tv which we went to John Lewis for yesterday.
My GD set it all up last night and it is all ready for the big game.
We are quite proud here that 3 of the England team are Stockport boys.
Foden, Mainooand Palmer, so will be double delighted with a win.
I will try again to attach a photo of me out with my GD on Friday.

annsixty Sun 14-Jul-24 12:21:36

I think it worked,

GrannyGravy13 Sun 14-Jul-24 12:23:55

Lookin good annsixty 👍

Grandmabatty Sun 14-Jul-24 12:58:46

A lovely photo Annsixty. I've been to Aldi and stocked up for the boys tomorrow and Tuesday. Then spent an hour in the garden tidying up, weeding and tackling a honeysuckle which has got out of hand. I'm now having lunch and I'll visit mum in a bit. Lime curd making is postponed because Aldi don't have golden caster sugar nor unsalted butter. I'll run the hoover round and give the kitchen windows a clean as they are messy. Trout with salad for dinner tonight and tomorrow. Have a good day all.

soop Sun 14-Jul-24 13:11:45

NannyG4 You and your husband are never too far from my thoughts. Here is last night's sunset over Jura. May it give you some pleasure.

soop Sun 14-Jul-24 13:20:42

CharleyG Sweetie Pie paid us a visit two days ago. A tin of tuna, two pouches of salmon and a dish of biscuits seemed to be appreciated. When next we checked...the bowls were empty and the visitor had gone. hmm

soop Sun 14-Jul-24 13:24:18

Hoping that the young Spaniard pulls out all the stops and plays his best tennis against Djocovic this afternoon. The men's doubles final was thrilling. I almost fell from my umpire's chair! wink

Grandmabatty Sun 14-Jul-24 13:54:08

Soop your photo of sunset over Jura is stunning.

Scapa1 Sun 14-Jul-24 15:00:18

Soop what a beautiful sunset people would pay good money for a picture of that! Just had a visit from DS and DGd’s lovely to see them before they go to Greece. It is our 51st wedding anniversary today and I just had to post a photo of the card I got. It is so true DH is NEVER wrong of course it is always my fault🤣. We are having a holiday in Jersey later in the week but weather doesn’t look amazing. What a day tennis and football!!

NannyG4 Sun 14-Jul-24 15:21:09

Thankyou Soop a beautiful and uplifting photograph , a privilege to witness such scenes, nature at its best....

Sat with th DH watching the men's final.

All of you, enjoy your day the best you can..... Enbrace life's simple pleasures... Fondest love to ALL.

Jaxjacky Sun 14-Jul-24 18:02:45

Happy Anniversary Scapal I hope you’re having a lovely day 🥂
Pretty top, or is it a dress ann? You wear it very well and look chipper.
Watched the tennis, that was the turn of Spain to win, ours is next ⚽️
I actually won in the meat draw! Makes a change, a kilo of good quality pork sausages.
I was wondering how your house is coming along SueD? Thinking of those absent too 💐
Enjoy your evening, football or not.
