After my covid jab on Wednesday I felt dreadful last night. I went to bed early and tossed with fever all night. I'm better today and thankful for the jab if that was just a taste of how I'd feel with covid.
Sympathies to all those with hip and knee problems. I am just starting along that road but sorry some of you are really suffering. I hope all those troublesome joints are soon dealt with and you feel much better.

Yes indeed...the warmest of welcomes to our new Kitcheners. The more the merrier.

I often relax in the quiet corner. It isn't necessary to converse. I hear whatever it is that our Granspals care to share. I am happy for those who celebrate. I am concerned for those who are experiencing problems and sadness.

I lost part of an upper double tooth last night. The dentist is busy for the next ten days. A minor buggeration. I've also been experiencing severe sweating and my hair is falling out. The GP called to explain that the preventive cancer medication (Exemestane), an oestrogen blocker, which I've to take for a further five years, is to blame. Boy, oh boy! As I have an appointment later this month with the oncologist at the Vale of Leven, I shall persevere and hope that she agrees to make a more palatable substitute.

Our wash basin in the bathroom, next door, is being removed and a new unit will be installed. The noise is somewhat distracting. So far, we have had a walk-in shower installed. It has been a blessing. It also looks very smart.

Good evening Kitcheners, welcome to any new members that I may have missed. It started off really dull damp this morning but it has turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon and evening. MrB and I were late to bed again, so both tired and lazy today. MrB has been for a walk, I got on with a few chores, Broccoli and cheese soup later with some olive and black pepper flatbreads.

A very quick dip in to tell you the Consultant is going to operate. I had a blood test today and within a few minutes of being home I had a text from the Pre op assessment unit to complete the questionnaire. It was a bit tricky as it didn't want to submit and I couldn't see what was stopping it going through...it was also very sensitive and the scales were moving without me actually changing them....I think I need to ring them on Monday as I think there is a very strong possibility that I've gone through as weighing 190 kg and drinking 150 units of alcohol a week🤣🤣🤣🤣

That made me laugh neine but a good result from the consultant, you must be relieved.
Oh dear soop, suppose that’s your three things, but little consolation for you.
A cool, windy day here with the odd shower, greenhouse plants are growing, but those outside are struggling.
Imogen was collected and dropped for her Physics GCSE, she has one more exam next week, then she finishes school!
Tesco delivered everything requested and we’ve been to the pub for a catch up, this evening will be football.

Both just enjoyed mushroom omelettes. Would like to say we had salad too (it sounds more healthy) but we didn’t. 😁

Good evening Kitcheners. Urmston I, too, had omelette but mine was cheese and I had chips with it too. Dd and dgs2 visited after playgroup today. He was so lovely and sunny and funny. He also was incredibly chatty and full of beans. I ironed and hoovered and emptied and loaded the dishwasher too. It has rained here most of the day which is disappointing. I had the heating on too because it was cool. I'm listening to a lovely radio station called Boom Rock and oh my goodness, the music is the soundtrack to my teenage years in the 70s. I am in heaven. A mini magnum calls so I'll bid adieu

Good evening Kitcheners. Another cool day, with some sun and some hefty downpours, I managed to do a little weeding but as I can’t bend very well I can only do about 15 minutes before my back starts protesting.
I’ve nearly finished clearing the “stuff” out of the spare bedroom before the painter starts work nest week. Most of it has found a home in other rooms but I have taken some to charity shops.

Oh my goodness, Neine, when will your surgery take place? Hopefully after your nuptials? Have you got strong painkillers until then? I had my knee x rayed yesterday but results won't go to GP for 4 weeks?

Imogen is nearly there, good luck to her for her exams Jaxjacky, makes you wonder where the years go? DGS1 has finished his Highers, been to London on the Leavers' trip, and had his Prom on Wednesday night. The end of 6th year. He looked so handsome and grown up in his dress kilt, he's over 6 feet now so he carries it well. Photos of his christening 17 years ago popped up on my phone memories this week, time really does fly.

Grandmabatty, you've tempted me raid the freezer in search of mini magnums! I'm glad your DGS2 is back to his happy wee self, he must have been miserable before he ' went'!.

My workmen came at 8.30 this morning and although it was raining a bit they made a great job of my gutters, pressure washed the patio and cleaned the garage door all before 11 o'clock. They cleaned up very well too! These are jobs DH and I did together until a few years ago...oh well, ages and stages!

Granmarie, I haven’t tried white vinegar on my weeds. The last time I tried to order it on my supermarket online order, they sent me white wine vinegar! I don’t suppose that would do anything for the weeds, but I’ll try to order it again.. I had a hip replacement six months ago, but haven’t yet dared to try to kneel in case I dislocate it or get stuck on the ground! Not being able to kneel is frustrating isn’t it.

Been for my uplifting beach walk this afternoon, didn't feel quite so tearful, more peaceful. DH will be moving from hospice to care home eventually, I really never thought that this is how life would be. To me, he's too young. But with the love and suport of my children and grandchildren we are determined to make it work....

We’ve had a really heavy thunderstorm this afternoon, lots of rain and even hailstones so I’ve been sheltering inside catching up on jobs
I’m really fancying a mini magnum now too grandmabatty, I don’t think we’ve got any in though so it’ll have to be the biscuit tin like Urms
DD2 and family have just left, they’re well fed and watered. We’re keeping everything crossed as it looks like she may have an offer on her house, if so it’ll be a lot less stressful from now on 🤞

It is indeed, Redcar! So today I've ordered 4 x 5 litre tubs of white vinegar from ' the big river company ' for my pump spray...other suppliers are available 🤣

Just popping in to say good evening. Been a very wet day here in Central Scotland with torrential showers at times. Sorry to read about all the aches and pains today as well as those feeling unwell. Hope you all get some relief soon. What a lovely place this kitchen is!
