Thank you soop for another friendly, cosy & comforting, new kitchen.
I'm tucked into a corner, as I often am.
Warm thoughts to all who visit.

Welcome dear Kitcheners. Enjoy the buffet and make yourselves comfortable. You are all extra special peoples (as our grandson used to say).
and a huge hug.

Thanks for opening the kitchen soop i feel so at home with you lovely lot ! It’s a kitchen where we can be happy or sad .
I’ve just made a lemon drizzle cake that in my thoughts I,ll be sharing with all of you .
I might be sheltering from the heat in a shady kitchen corner , still away and we have a severe heat warning today.
I’m another who often finds a quiet corner in the kitchen. A lemon drizzle loaf still slightly warm from the oven and a pot of fresh coffee is my contribution.
NannyG4 Us lot are with you in spirit. PLEASE do not hesitate to share your sorrows with us. If we could take your pain away...we most certainly would. I shall sit in the quiet corner with you. Take my hand.
Take care GG13 I’ve just put our heating on!
MrB and I had a meet up with his sisters and their husbands today, a delicious pub lunch and lots of nattering.
I will probably just fall asleep in this comfy recliner now, someone nudge me if I start snoring 💤
My heating is on too. I have come into the warm kitchen to escape the grey landscape outside. I have brought spiced scones. Lovely warmed with butter.
NannyG4 I spent some time with my DH in a hospice. The staff were so good but I understand what a difficult time it is for you. Take comfort from friends and family and look after yourself.
It's always cosy in the kitchen ,I have been following but not posting to be honest it's been 7weeks of not going out apart from hospital ,I can't get shoes on ! I have a scan and mri next week ,then appointment with vascular team depending what they say I will think about a mobility scooter although I do worry about steering it!! There is plenty of food on offer so I will tuck in.
Thankyou each and everyone of you lovely lovely people, I feel blessed to be in this kitchen.... such a retreat.
Love to you all....
Hope you've all had the best day possible under your circumstances...
I’m very late to the opening of the new kitchen - my apologies
I thought my days of having a hangover were long gone - apparently not!!! 🤦♀️
Brook2704!
Go to your room😏
Brook!! Good for you ☺️
My heating came on this morning but isn’t on now, it must be marginally warmer, although it’s raining. I went to the local garden centre this morning and bought some more ground cover plants in an effort to smother the weeds. Not sure when they’ll be planted though.
Good evening everyone in this lovely new kitchen.
I put my summer quilt on this morning , now wet and miserable and CH on.
Will summer ever arrive?
I have everyone in my thoughts but very little to say tonight so have the best night everyone.
Good evening Soop and lovely Kitchen people! 🥰
Wonderful to see so many visitors popping into this welcoming new Kitchen. I'm so glad you're here NannyG4, we're all thinking of you and yours.
Hulahoop, 👋 hello! I'm sorry to hear that you've been confined to the house recently.
I would definitely recommend mobility scooter if your clinicians think that is a good idea. DH would not get out and about much without his. It lets him enjoy holidays and family days out.
It's pouring rain here and the heating is on. I'm hoping my workman won't cancel tomorrow, he's booked in to clean my gutters and pressure wash the patio. DS3 just popped in after work to move my big planters in preparation.
Hope you're feeling normal now, brook! As Jaxjacky might say, sounds like there is a back story...
Well this morning I took my troublesome knee ( left one this time) to the GP after a few weeks of hoping that it would get better with a little TLC... ended up at the hospital having it x rayed. I have stronger painkillers ( which I'm not sure about, having recently watched Dopesick...) and advice that it should respond to physio. Waiting list is 26 weeks though so I might try my sister's sports physio.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening. TOYA, NNGB.
I can’t drink enough to get a hangover Brook, I had a half of bitter in the pub today and I’ve been snoozing all afternoon
. It’s the late nights I can’t cope with, I need my sleep.
Well brook, it probably seemed like a good idea, I hope you enjoyed the reason! As Grannmarie said…tell us the story🙂
I had a lovely lunch lunch out with a friend today, but blimey it’s chilly, my Mum would say ‘change the record Jax’, but it is.
* Hulahoop* you must be thoroughly fed up and stir crazy, I bet next week can’t come soon enough for you.
It was my ex gym buddies that led me astray … we were out last night and I was so busy blethering that I really mustn’t have noticed how many times my glass was topped up, … it always seemed to be just half full … I felt fine until I stood up to leave but then I realised that I had a certain sway to my walk … got a lift home and DH put me straight to bed after a bit of tut tutting and raised eyebrows. Today has been a complete wash out, I’m only just coming round now 🤦♀️
But you enjoyed the evening, good, an evening of fun with friends, a lot to be said for it.
‘Evening All’.
We are just home from our Thursday ‘date night’. We were joined by Himself’s two brothers and their wives. The food in the newish restaurant in Urmston was excellent.
Alcohol-wise I shared a bottle of Pinot Noir with one sister in law and later enjoyed an Irish coffee (very Berni Inn and years since I’ve had one!).
I shall sleep well tonight. 💤
It rained heavily this evening, I was frozen so I switched on the heating and cooked a lovely meal. I think my annual shower and an early night tonight.
My watering can did not arrive from Amazon/Royal Mail and what a performance, I have been going around the houses twice. It was delivered but not here and I have looked inside each bin.
Please look after yourselves.
Hello kitchen people. It sounds like a lot of you have been having fun!
OH and I had a lovely day in Oxford. A delicious lunch at Cote which included a free cocktail each.the Ashmolean to see an exhibition of drawings by artists such as Rubens and van Dyke. They’ve also got the Wilton Diptych on loan from the National Gallery, which I’ve seen several times before but it’s good to see it in Oxford too.
By the way, I never get hangovers!
Welcome Redcar - pull up a chair.
It’s been a busy week but quieter for the next few days.
While still waiting for my new left knee, I am now on “the Suffolk hip pathway” too. It’s going to be a while I fear but I’m glad the GP has acknowledged it, as my right hip is probably worse than my knee now.
I’m sorry for moaning - I try not to go on in real life!
Sleep well everyone 💤
Welcome to all new and returning kitcheners. We are so lucky to have this haven to escape to...there is always a welcome and never any criticism or harsh words in here....just a place to share whatever is happening in our lives. I've only been in here a relatively short time but the kindness and support I have received has been wonderful and
appreciated so much. 💐💐💐💐
It's hip consultant day today... Hopefully he'll be able to give me some idea of when he can do the hip revision...it's obviously going to have to be after the knee fracture has healed but at least I can plan ahead. My knee is ( very unladylike word ) painful. The brace makes my calf and thigh ache and the lopsided walk hurts my back and hip so all in all it's a real buggeration. On the plus side I did manage to stomp round M and S yesterday and found a bargain pair of crop trousers...if it stops biblical raining at anytime soon I might even get to wear them too.😂
