I've caught up on all your news now. Grandmarie...get well soon and go gently on yourself. It will all still be there when you feel stronger. My knee is definitely improving. I can straighten my leg properly now. It still aches by the end of the day but that's bearable. My left foot is swollen just now and I think it may be down to the cut just above my ankle caused by darling dog catching me with his dew claw. DH attended and said it was deep and he thought he could see muscle. I told him to be quiet and get Savlon and a dressing but six days on...maybe I should have listened to him. Yesterday was intense. I had my one to one with the lady who will be my team leader. I have volunteered to help with a charity called Safe Families and my meeting yesterday was for them to get to know me more by hearing about my life. Thankfully we were in a secluded corner as I am ashamed to say I cried when reliving parts of it and by the end I felt completely drained. She was lovely though and far from thinking I would be useless she felt I would have lots of empathy with those struggling. All I wanted to do when I got home was have a good weep but I gave myself a mental kick up the b.m and had a cup of tea and cuddled the dogs. I think the last few weeks ( good and bad) have caught up with me as I hadn't had a panic attack this year up until last Friday either. Compared to what others in here are going through I have no reason to cry or panic and get cross when my body decides differently and let's me down.
GrannyG4....I think of you often ....as you start a journey you really didn't want to take...we are here to walk with you anytime you need us.
Yia...prayers for you both that a treatment plan can be sorted very soon for your DH.
Grandmabatty...you know me and finding a bargain...good for you.
Hula...Good Luck today.
Jax...you are back on Quiz form it seems. Well done.
AnnS...I hope your knee and the situation resolve themselves very soon and harmony is restored mentally and physically.
I've just checked my foot and it's definitely still swollen so I'd better bite the bullet and go to the doctors. Grrr.

Welcome dear Kitcheners. Enjoy the buffet and make yourselves comfortable. You are all extra special peoples (as our grandson used to say).
and a huge hug.
Good morning, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. I hope NannyG4 managed some rest last night.
Good luck with your appointments, Hulahoop and Annsixty, hope all goes well for you both. Welcome to the Wonky Knees club, Ann!
Thank you, kind ladies, for the lovely welcome back, it's so nice to return to this supportive kitchen.
Glad your Mum was in good spirits Grandmabatty, I hope there's still a place for her in your chosen Nursing home when the time is right. Your autumn items sound ideal, good buys!
The sun has just come out 🌞, hope it's shining on Inverness for your family get together, brook. Enjoy your special time.
Well done, Jaxjacky, its only a matter of time till your team takes first place! Shame about your phone calls, hope all goes well for them today.
Neine, great to hear that your knee is improving, but please get that ankle checked out, just to be on the safe side.
Well done on your volunteering, but please listen to your body and don't overstretch yourself. When we feel panicky and/ or tearful there is always a reason, our natural system is telling us to be aware and take care.
My knees have been well rested during covid cos I was sleeping a lot, but I've fallen behind with my exercises, just didn't have the energy. Physio appointment tomorrow, rescheduled from last week. 🤞I'll try to get back to the pool soon, the exercises are definitely easier with the support of the water. Yesterday I bought wool to knit the Wee Boy a school pullover, so I might sit out on the patio and make a start. He begins Primary school in August, can't believe it, how time flies.
Wishing everyone a pleasant Tuesday, take care. TOYA
I am just back from the surgery where I saw a physiotherapist.
She was a rather dour young woman who did a thorough workout on my leg and not being one to do things by half it seems I have three issues going on.
First is the expected Osteoarthritis, second is meralgia paraesthetica and thirdly greater trochanteric pain syndrome.
I am to have a steroid injection next Tuesday , followed by physio.
I am not overly impressed by all that.
I am going for tea and biscuits with a neighbour this afternoon.
That soup looks amazing, Ladyleftfieldlover! Thank you for the photo.
Ladyleftfieldlover your soup looks very tasty I really love a fish soup, Cullen skink being one of them. We are enjoying our shorter than planned stay in Jersey (thanks for that EasyJet) yesterday just a day wandering around St Helier seeing the attractions. Today we visited the German War Tunnels I thought it would be claustrophobic and I didn’t feel that way at all. It was really interesting learning about how the people of Jersey coped when the German army took control. In the afternoon a visit to Gordy a lovely wee village where we indulged in a wee dink sitting in the sun at the harbour. Not sure about tomorrow but the buses here are very efficient and very regular so no doubt we will do some bus hopping. Hope all the invalids feel better soon.
Good afternoon to you lovely lot.
Ladyleftfieldlover I would thoroughly enjoy a bowl of your delicious soup. We have some Tesco bread containing cranberries and pecan nuts, a slice of which would provide us with a feast.
NannyG4 One gentle step at a time. I often think of you and your journey. [hugs]
I sympathise with our Kitcheners with dodgy knees. Welcome to the club! Another of Life's buggeration to manage as best we can.
We are having the outside render repainted. Also the window frames and the front door. Mr Soop has also accepted help with garden maintenance. We feel that it is money well spent.
I am running late today. After lunch, out with the ironing board. After which, a bike ride to no place. Today I shall pedal along to the music of Queen. Later still, we will test our grey matter with a game of Scrabble.
My very best wishes to you all. You are very special peoples...as our grandson was keen to say.
Soop that is my favourite loaf from Tesco! I don't buy it often because I would eat it too quickly.
Today I have done some weeding, hoovered the house, hung out the washing and watered all the pots. I've had a blether with the lovely chap next door who has painted the small fence which separated our front gardens. He's a really kind soul and I much appreciated it. I've not felt 100% today, so I'll have a rest and then tackle a smallish ironing. Gammon, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage for dinner with a couple of potato croquettes. Enjoy your Wednesday
Good afternoon all.
I really wish I could come for meals with most of you.
I really am over cooking much but still force myself to do it most days.
I know I would love the salmon soup and gammon is a favourite meal.
I have been sorting my bedroom out today, it really needs it.
I sent for a shoes rack from Amazon which came on Monday and with lots of sweating and strong language I have put it together.
It actually is not very good quality which I should have realised as it was quite cheap.
However it will do the job it is intended for.
I have packed away two duvets and found room in the bottom of a wardrobe for a metal lockable box I keep fairly important papers in so I feel I have achieved quite a bit.
I am definitely treating myself to a G&T tonight.
Take care everyone.
Just popping in to say hello to you lovely people......
Hope all of you have had the best day you can have under your circumstances.... I'm sending my love and prayers to ALL of you who are finding life hard at the moment...
Love always my lovely friends.... ❤️❤️🌹
NannyG4 what a lovely message, Hope you are coping . xx
Very thoughtful GrannyG4x
Good to see you Doodle you’ve had a trying day, sleep well.
It’s been dull here today and now it’s decidedly cooler, ‘feels like 14’, not very summery, closed all bar one window in our bedroom
I stripped some leaves off the greenhouse tomatoes this morning, it was getting tricky to water them, some vacuuming and dusting, updated my grocery delivery for Friday, then caught up on a TV programme.
Yesterday’s washing is now either folded and away or awaiting MrJ’s iron, mines the folded bits!
Some very busy people on here today!
I did some garden club admin and about half of the ironing, put 3 more lots of washing on and not much else. We have the DGC for an unknown number of days next week, then go to France for nearly 3 weeks next weekend. Feeling that time is suddenly running away with us.! I like to get the house cleaned and all the beds changed before I go away but I am not sure that will happen this time.
Sleep well everyone. 💤
Just a quick hello from me before the day gets too busy!
NannyG4 sending ❤️, such a kind message, love to you too Doodle
It’s been lovely having family to stay, the fridge is almost empty except for some various leftovers, dinner should be interesting tonight! The bed stripping and washing will have to wait as we’ve a busy couple of days ahead
I can hear the DGSs up now so I’d best get going - have the best day you can and take care all x
I’ll utter my usual response to (most) modern art. Interesting!
What has happened to your wallpaper though?
Has it faded from being in bright sunlight or is that just the pic.
Good afternoon kitcheners. Ladyleftfieldlover it reminds me of William Morris. I like it. My quiet day hasn't been so quiet. I decided to walk to Aldi for milk and potatoes and had a spectacular fall in the street. A very kind lady stopped her car to see if she could help. I have scraped the skin of my elbow and knee and hand and twisted my back and dented my pride. Needless to say, I went back home and got in the car to go instead. I was telling dd and the next thing the door was knocked. She appeared with the boys to make sure I was ok. They are just away home and I'm lying down as my knee hurts. What a plonker! Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Aww, Grandmabatty, I'm sorry to hear about your fall. Its so easily done, I fell flat on my back in lidl once. The embarrassment was worse than the pain.
You'll be sore for a few days, rest up on the sofa and maybe try an ice pack on your knee. I've certainly had my money's worth from my bag of frozen peas. I hope you recover soon.💐
Wishing everyone a pleasant Thursday. TOYA
Grannmarie an ice pack ISA good idea. Thank you

I think it must be the photograph.
The wallpaper is William Morris but the picture is this year!
Ouch! Grandmabatty If you have any doubts regarding your knee, please check with your GP. Any fall shakes you to the core. I've had my fair share and some. Please rest.
annsixty Our shoe rack is also a tad rubbishy.
Fond love to our GrannyG4 and Doodle together with our Kitcheners who need extra support.
Llfl Are those gowns in your picture? It looks perfect with the lovely wallpaper.
Mr Soop invites me to a game of Scrabble.
Oh dear Grandmabatty you must be really shaken up.
I hope you feel less sore in the morning after a good nights sleep 🤞🏻
Oh rats Grandmabatty taking a tumble jars the whole body, now rest up and slow down!
Great picture llfl goes well there.
A miserable, wet day here, apart from some house chores ( what chores? I’ll have a pint please 🙂) and cooking some beetroot, it’s been a lazy day. My son is here at his local launderette, their machine is defunct after 10 years service, so just one load..for now.
A wave to those with big struggles in their lives x
Grandmabatty that sounds so painful, skinned knees and elbows sting so much. I hope you will feel less shaken and sore tomorrow.
Grandmabatty...now confess up..you wanted to join the wonky knee party didn't you?. Bless you though. It bloomin hurts in bits you didn't even knock after a fall like that... everything gets jarred up. Close your eyes any medical people on here and skip the next sentence... Grandmabatty a large glass of something alcoholic and 2 painkillers works wonders I've found. Today I (we...friend of over 50 years is staying) have walked some of the Great Western Canal.... There are some spectacular gardens on the opposite bank to the tow path and we had a good nose at the diverse planting. My knee aches now so I'm having a 30 minute break before preparing dinner...I think it might be Bobotie tonight as it's quick but tasty....
