Good Morning Sunday 16th June 2024
(49 Posts)Good Morning Everyone ,
Its bright but wet and windy this morning in brackley .
It is January in June with the weather at the moment .
Today usual quiet day in some housework , health wise with how weather has been I seem to be having more bad days than good ones .
But its an improvement as to this time last year .
Take Care,
Mick
Thanks Marydoll. I usually read the morning thread but don't post very often these days
Mumofmadboys how nice to hear from you! Enjoy your holiday.
Thanks Grandmabatty
momb the Scillies are one of my favourite places, each island having such a distinct character - enjoy your holiday🙂
Good morning from Durham. Bright and breezy, but the usual rain to come.
I’m planning a very lazy day - the first in two weeks that I haven’t had to be up and ready at silly o’clock.
I shall potter in the garden, perhaps nip to a garden centre, then walk Little Dog later.
Best wishes to all. X
Morning all, so many poorly folks, sending you healing (((hugs))
At lunchtime we are going into Old Leigh with the three youngest AC for drinks and snacks for Father’s Day. Some GC will be there also.
I will also dig out a winter coat as the weather is so changeable, I have not been able to get warm since landed 🛬
Wishing you all well 🙋♀️
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
A change from yesterday when it rained virtually all day, being especially heavy in the afternoon.
I drove out in it first thing, off to get a few things in Sainsbury's that Tesco doesn't supply plus the paper for my weekend puzzles. Then it was back for a long phone natter with my sister. Not a lot got done for the rest of the day, not one little job ticked off my growing list.
Today will be different!
I must sow my forget me not seeds too, WWM and I really should get myself another packet of white foxglove seeds. I find they don't re-seed themselves like the others, which are doing splendidly this year.
I hope all you poorlies are improving, a bit of blue sky would lift everyone's spirits.
And have the best possible day, all of you.
Good morning and it’s breezy and overcast.
Really enjoyed Trooping the Colour yesterday. Everyone did a great job. 🇬🇧. The King, standing in the rain and cold and Princess Ann on horseback all that time. They are exactly the same age as me and Dh, so I have the utmost respect for them. 🇬🇧.
I shopped later and we had a shop bought curry last evening. Very nice it was too.
We had a text from dgd1 who was sitting in A and E. she’d been sent home from work with chest pains, sickness and dizziness.
She was still waiting at 11 o’clock last evening, to see the doctor for results of bloods and an ECG. Haven’t heard since. 😢.
I think it’s to do with her job. Mental Health nurse, thrown in at the deep end and finding it extremely stressful. Often she is Nurse in Charge. I’ll wait to hear! 🥺.
Today family will come and see their dad for Father’s Day and this afternoon we’ll go to my db ‘s for tea and cake.
Take care all.,🌸
So good to see you mumofmadboys enjoy your holiday!
Good morning from 'it's trying to be bright but not really succeeding' Sefton. Yesterday as we went into a matinee performance it was cloudy & trying to rain & gloriously sunny & lot warmer when we came out! Yet another lovely sunny evening. Well our local amateur musical theatre company excelled themselves with a very funny performance of Spamalot (it is very nonPC but of course it is Monty Python & to be expected). They are a very talented lot. I am of course biased as we had both sons & a DiL on stage.
A bit of food shopping this morning then settle down with the papers. No other plans for today as our sons will be recovering from 2 performances yesterday, followed by the 'get out' & the inevitable after party - so very show biz!
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.
Past 9 o'clock?! Yikes! I went back to sleep at 5am, unheard of for me. Anyway, have woken to a sunny (sorry folks) Cornwall. Yesterday was too hot for me. I took my socks off discreetly 😂 in a café to try to cool down. Swop, anyone? I dreamt of snow, which was delicious.
I'm off to my son's to watch the footie this evening. Before that I'll potter with moving my sculptures around the flat as they need new homes so I can put plants on their shelves. A big job for me and I'll enjoy it.
Good morning from cloudy W Kent. So sorry to read of all the ill health. We are both still very much one degree under so very slow day and DH missing out on a Father’s Day lunch.
Enjoyed the Trooping of the Colout but it did look wet and chilly to be sitting out in I hope they all wear thermal underwear.
Mick hope you feel better soon
Best wishes to ll
Good morning Mck and everyone. I have no idea what it’s like outside, as I have only just woken up. I did very little yesterday as my TMJ dysfunction was playing up. Back to eating soup and yogurt for a few days.
I spent the day listening to an audiobook about the loss of the Roman legions under Varus. The Teutoburg Forest massacre was such a pivotal moment in the history of the Roman Empire. I watched the latest news, I thought the
Princess of Wales looked lovely yesterday. I’m not a royalist but I wish anyone going through cancer treatment well.
I’m struggling to focus on the screen so please forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes. I suspect I may be typing gobbledygook
]? MrB has brought me a lovely and most welcome cup of tea so I will now read all your posts. Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.
Good morning Mick and all from a day of heavy rain, grey cloud and 'coolth' on the Angus coast. I too have resorted to winter clothes, and I've popped the heating on for an hour this morning - Sunday treat!
Sorry I haven't posted for so long, and thank you to those of you who noticed and took the trouble to pm me. My absence was down to exhaustion due to tai chi! At the first committee meeting we had to prepare for a long-awaited workshop I made it very clear that I would not be hosting the instructor(s) this time, that I wanted for once to be able to enjoy the workshop ..... (I've hosted each time since our county group began, twice a year, and one time I had six people staying). Anyway, someone else said they'd do it so that, thank goodness, was that ...... until a week before, when a close relative of that person sadly passed away. So, hosting again but with hardly any time to prepare and a house to clean . My stamina is not what it was, but all was ready for the guests' arrival on the Friday evening - except I'd failed to take on board that they were in fact arriving on the Friday morning and I had an extra full day and evening to host. So I decided we'd go for a lovely little walk up country (after a hastily prepared lunch) followed by fish 'n chips on the muir. The weather was glorious and my guests (from Brussels) were suitably impressed with the area where we walked .... BUT .... It was 9 years since I'd done it. 9 years ago it was just a wee hop, skip and a jump to me. In the intervening years it had more than doubled in length, I swear! We were in bed early that evening! That totally finished me, though - and I still had three breakfasts, two full days of tai chi and two evenings of chatting over meals in our best two local eateries. By the time they were collected and taken off to the airport on the Monday I was beyond everything! Recovery time? Not a chance. I had two classes full of eager students fired up by enthusiasm after a super workshop (which I had little memory of!). Actually, the classes took themselves with discussion and mini demonstrations by the members themselves, so really good actually. Now throw in my COVID booster and the worst (the only) bad reaction I have had. I did nothing but sleep for two days. Then on the Saturday the tide was right for our monthly Tai Chi on the beach (the haar was in, but that didn't stop us!).
Chapter Two of this saga will follow tomorrow as this is becoming too long!
But I'm back - with a vengeance 😁
Have a good day everyone x
Taichinan, you have absolutely made my day, so lovely to see you here again and good to know that you are another who listens to your body
I am back from my exercise, ready to enjoy the day, whatever it brings
I'm delighted to see Taichinan posting again. I look forward to episode two of your tale!
Good morning,
A bit brighter here today for now, but chilly with a niggly breeze. An improvement on yesterday though, where it did nothing but rain.
Church this morning then pottering.
Thank you so much karmalady and Grandmabatty. It's strange finding 'normal' again after what feels to have been a seismic upheaval 😉
👋👋Taichinan good to see you back!
Good to see you posting mumofmadboys and Taichinan
