OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

I find it very difficult to completely cover my bosom, entirely too large and nothing I can change, I feel for AR and RR.

Today they each looked slightly better. Lovely hair as well.

I've fallen down a rabbit hole today and I've started googling AR confused she paid for cosmetic surgery after losing six stone in weight?!

Oreo

I have to put you right there Dickens on this v important point, šŸ˜‚the late Queen only carried a black handbag whatever she was wearing.Which contained as we now know an emergency marmalade sandwich.

Do you know - I never checked the colour of her handbag - I was just aware that she always had one.

Which, of course contained the emergency marmalade sandwich which we all carry around...

I listened to her interview on "leading" with Alistair and Rory. I liked her. She was open and frank about her early life, showed a good sense of humour, answered the questions in a straightforward way and showed intelligence. I disliked her describing some Conservatives as "scum" and the other words more appropriate words she used but tbh she was proved correct by some of their antics whilst in government although personally I wouldn't use that particular word! I shall be interested to see how she copes with PMQT when she steps in for Starmer. I think she might be very effective!

Here's the trouser suit. Very expensive.

ronib Sat 06-Jul-24 16:17:03

Aveline did AR put it on her expenses? She doesn’t hold back….

GrannySquare Sat 06-Jul-24 16:34:16

As Daniela Westbrook is to Burbury, AR is to ME+EM?

Ā£600 for a suit, minus VIP discount, is a huge amount of money for a one-off event.

I don’t see AR wearing that suit again.

Aveline Sat 06-Jul-24 16:36:42

Well it must have been a very special occasion for her. Just a poor choice of outfit that really didn't suit her. Maybe chosen by someone else as she must have been very busy

Boz Sat 06-Jul-24 16:44:56

I don't think Me+Em give celebrity discounts as a lot of their dresses are worn by Royalty - Catherine Princess ofW and Sophie Wessex.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 06-Jul-24 16:48:22

An awful waste of money because I can’t imagine her wearing it again - and the company won’t want to use a photo of her wearing it (nor I think today’s dress) in promotional literature. They will be delighted to use photos of Mrs Starmer though, wearing a very lovely dress that looks as good on her as on the model. And costing far less than AR’s frightful outfit.

ronib surely she can’t claim clothes on expenses, can she? I have no idea,

Here's Lady Starmer's dress. Same company but half the price of that trouser suit.
I loved Mrs Sunak's dress too

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 06-Jul-24 16:59:05

Beautiful dress, beautiful lady.

Aveline Sat 06-Jul-24 17:00:18

Am on a roll. Here's Mrs Sunak's dress

I very much doubt if ronib has any idea, either, GSM. She just likes saying these things.,

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 06-Jul-24 17:05:30

Looked better on her than in the photo I think. She is an exceptionally beautiful woman - as is Mrs Starmer.

I have yet to come across someone else on GN who was a partner in a City law firm. I had to dress accordingly (and, Casdon, that doesn’t constitute being up myself).. I expect the deputy PM to dress to similar standards and don’t consider that unreasonable. She’s not a teacher or an office worker - in the absence of the PM she is in charge of the country.

Oh sorry, I hadn't realised we were playing Career Top Trumps.

She was robbed.

Lady Starmer is wearing a lovely dress at the races at Sandown Park today. Can’t find a photo that will load though.

Callistemon213 Sat 06-Jul-24 17:22:48

Trousers are virgin wool, jacket is cotton.
So when is a suit not a suit?

RosiesMaw Sat 06-Jul-24 17:23:40

Didn’t she just!
Probably glad to get away from all the politics talk (and possibly the packers and removal men) !

You'd think we were all obsessed with fashion šŸ˜‚

Aveline Sat 06-Jul-24 17:28:05

I know. I sit here in my stretchy trousers and cosy fleece but like to see people in nice outfits. I liked those dresses. Couldn't ever imagine wearing them.

JaneJudge Sat 06-Jul-24 17:29:43

I’m really sorry to hear that AR has been robbed

I agree. I have never seen so much bitchiness on a thread in GN. I am totally shocked!

Oh get over yourself!
Rude, people are only expressing a opinion,no need fir the put down because you don't like it.

No need for you to call me rude either.

Being ā€œtotally shockedā€ by posters commenting on the choice of clothing worn by a high ranking politician is, frankly, ridiculous. This is social media. I could add I find your comment to me ā€œdeeply unpleasantā€ but I’m not that lily livered.

I stand by what I said the comment was rude. You have your opinions and others have theirs.
I think posters found some of the slurs offensive, not posters saying politely they did not like the outfit.
