Angela Rayner ghastly trouser suit

(1001 Posts)

OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

I really wasn’t going to add to this criticism of another woman’s appearance but thought I would note that the jade green was a perfect choice for a red head.

Cossy

How lovely! Let’s slag off the party on day one by criticising their fashion sense.

She was clean and tidy. Frankly I don’t care what any of them wear, look like or sound like if they do a good job, time will tell.

Yet Boris, Truss, May and Sunak were fair game. Double standards.

Oreo Sun 07-Jul-24 09:53:52

Jade green is a beautiful colour, no doubt about that.

How did I not know that!!

Wallace and Gromit are, of course, stars of Aardman Animations Studios based in Bristol.

That was to Joseann

Yes, lovely colour.

Although my DD seems to prefer autumn shades.

*I think she has put on weight and chose an outfit which hid the extra fat*

like a lot of clothes it looks a lot better on a tall, thin, small busted woman

Tasteful on someone a couple of sizes smaller perhaps

Horrible really and I'm not policing anything. Have a nice day everybody whatever size you are.

zakouma66

Though I realise you are attempting to give that impression - none of those comments were made by me.

... and it's bad manners not to address the person you are responding to.

zakouma66 Sun 07-Jul-24 10:04:40

I was not seeking to give any impression at all.

This is starting to feel like some sort of unpleasant bullying.

Oreo Sun 07-Jul-24 10:07:36

Yeah it really is Zakouma66 but not by Dickens !

I can't quite believe what is in the original post. When did wearing/not wearing a bra become something to comment on ?
Are breasts now considered offensive?

Rekarie Sun 07-Jul-24 10:10:48

They weren't fair game to me. Slagging people off for their choice of attire doesn't do anything for me. I didn't even have a go at the brilliant, (he really was), Michael Foot with his donkey jacket on Remembrance Sunday.

All this pious comment about what is and what isn't appropriate.

It's just tiresome

As an aside, I had a job where I had a strict dress code to follow as well. I'm sure many on GN did as well.

Many commenting in a negative fashion should go on Tiktok. Plenty of people ridiculing Angela to be found on there. You'd feel right at home.

Oreo Sun 07-Jul-24 10:10:52

Almost anything can be something to comment on.

Quite!

Unless Ms Rayner stripped off, how could we possibly know?

Anyway, what happened to Women's Lib and burn your bra?

Then why did you highlight those comments in your reply to my post where I clearly stated that I had never made personal observations on any individual's body shape or size?

It must be obvious that anyone who has not read every single post will get the impression they are my comments.

I am defending myself, not bullying you. If you think I am then report my post to GNHQ.

Are you pleased with yourself? 🤣🤣.

Whatever, it is still the most replied to thread in recent weeks.🙂

I'm pleased with whoever requested it - since it was under discussion and I noticed it was under "chat" I posted on the change.

Why? Are you ordering people off Gransnet?

Posters can post what they wish on here, within guidelines. There is no need to go on TikTok, I never have and probably never will.
Obviously you do.

Probably had neat perky boobs if they were young. With age everything migrates down South.I sure need my bra I can tell you.

Yes, Dickens, I thought those comments were being attributed to you, because the poster quoted you in the same way yesterday evening. Not that I believed you would say that, so I checked back and you certainly didn't. That's why I defended you.
I know it's a pain to do the name thing, but it does avoid any misunderstanding.

Thank you Oreo!

I have, in the past, defended politicians who I dislike, some intensely, when they have been shamed for their body shape or size.

I would remind Zakouma66 about AR's 'quip' on Rishi Sunak.

Guilty me for starting the campaign early on, but I meant for Primrose53 to decide whether to request it be moved, not for another poster to ask.

... and thank you Joseann.

I'd hoped my comment about Judi Dench's observations were clear and that I was making a (fairly light hearted) post about women in general, image, and the fashion industry.

Not at all! I certainly didn't mean that at all so I apologise. I was just pointing out there's an awful lot of awful comment on Tiktok about her outfit and it sounds similar to what is being said here.

Don't dismiss Tiktok either. Alongside all the rubbish there's some fabulous stuff very informative and educational. Fabulous clips about anything and everything. Including Angela's outfit!

Going braless took off in the early seventies if my memory is right. I was tall and skinny. Used to fret about not having big bosoms but discovered being minus a bra was more comfortable. I only started wearing one in 1978 when I was working with offenders. No need to explain that I’m sure

I wear a bra during the day and if I’m playing out at night. But when I take my day clothes off and out on my ‘leisure’s’ in the early evening the bra gets ditched.

Apology accepted 🙂
A misunderstanding.

My teenage DGC and great-nieces do go on TikTok but I know their parents keep an eye on the content. I doubt they're looking at Angela Rayner and her fashion choices!

I only looked once when there was link on here, can't remember much but it was a woman in her kitchen, very funny.
