Awful tragedy

Yes his brother killed a person who had damaged his car!!! Given 23yr jail term in 2017. Im glad he didnt manage to kill himself - i hope and trust he will be jailed for entire life.

Any man with a crossbow,hell bent on revenge, is very dangerous . You don't need training to fire one.

He's been caught, thank goodness. Watching his escape , a lady was walking on the opposite side of the road as he got into his car. Thank goodness he drove off. CCTV.

I don’t think the numbers are more just there is a lot more talk about it a lot more in the news a lot more details and the manner of killing is different never heard of crossbows till recently
There something badly wrong in a family if two sons are murderers he looks very clean cut and wholesome in his photograph
Sounds as if tried to commit suicide but police thankfully got there first
I ve never heard of John Hunt but what a terrible terrible situation to lose your wife and daughters at one go absolutely horrific

Avoiding speculation on this particular incident - if you think about it, men who are so 'traumatised' by rejection that they will slaughter their partner (and more frequently now it seems, other members of the family), there is obviously some deep-seated terrible 'inadequacy' which they cannot cope with - how in God's name do you rehabilitate that?

Kyle Clifford's brother Bradley is a murderer too.

It makes you wonder what went on in their childhood and what their parents were like.

They are obviously both very dangerous and need to be locked away.

I believe such men can appear quite ordinary and 'normal' - witness the comments made about such individuals after similar incidents by those who know them - "oh, he always seemed quite friendly and pleasant", etc, etc.

Unless there are big red flags waving in your face, how is any young woman expected to determine that a man has a huge fault-line in his personality.

I know when I was in my 20s I wasn't a very good judge of character, if a man was pleasant, friendly and 'nice', I took him at face value. How could I do otherwise, I didn't have the experience to be cautious and circumspect. That comes later.

It’s just such a tragic story. I’ve just read that the man they are looking for is the ex boyfriend of one of the daughters.

I was just about to suggest that. now it is fact.

In home domestic violence has always been with us, but this rise in the numbers pursuing and killing ex girlfriends and ex-partners seems to be a 21st century crime

And there seems to be a common thread running through these awful murders in the last year or so.

It would seem the girlfriend recognised the warning signs in this vicious man and left the relationship but his uncontrollable temper led him to slaughter her and her family in revenge.
Two violent brothers committing revengeful murder from the same family indicates nurture rather than nature.

There was a case a while ago of a man killing his neighbour and seriously injuring his wife/partner with a crossbow. Some neighbour dispute.

The surviving woman has campaigned for the possession of crossbows to be licensed, similar to shotguns.

As she said, just as lethal in the wrong hands.

BlueBelle, I wish the police hadn't got there in time.no sentence is great enough for such an excuse of a man. Whatever his background everyone knows right from wrong, he's a violent coward, hunting defenceless women who must have been truly terrified. It can't be coincidence that two brothers have such hate in them.
How does John Hunt and his daughter cope?, One must keep the other going. No person should bear this, I've been in tears for them. I just hope he feels the love and emotion of every decent person in the country.
As for rehabilitation, that's just not possible. He will know no peace.

Do you mean the bit about him trying to kill himself, oh gosh that’s much too easy a way out, a couple of minutes and then to feel nothing, but that poor husband/father is left with a lifetime of sorrow….. if it’s that you mean then I disagree, death is far far to easy … let him rot in jail for ever if possible, let him be bored to death with no chance of getting out, let him be picked on and hassled by other prisoners, let him feel fear, oh no death is the easiest way out of any punishment, any reflection, any life.

Bluebell, yes it was the comment about him being caught alive. The family have been through enough, there's no rehabilitation for that man, ever, just a court case putting stress on Mr Hunt and his remaining daughter. They don't get any closure of any kind. The expense and stress of the court case and everything involved, keeping him in prison at what expense, for a nothing. He lives and three people died tragically at his hands.
You are completely entitled to your opinion and I am not judging you and it's just how I feel. What matters now are the family of those three ladies.

I saw earlier that 3 women had been found dead and police were looking for a named person in his mid twenties.

It now transpires that the women were a mother and her two adult daughters and they were the wife and daughters of racing commentator, John Hunt. Apparently they were shot with a crossbow.

I’m so shocked and can’t begin to imagine their terror and the shock and grief of Mr Hunt. Just appalling. I hope the person responsible is caught very quickly.

The terrible thing is tha Kyle Clifford's younger brother is in jail serving 20 odd years for murder. Now they can both spend most of their lives locked up together.

I don’t remember a crossbow being used in a murder before although pets have been killed before. Whatever the weapon it’s the intent hat is lethal, most often a knife is the weapon, which could be a craft knife, a table knife or carving knife, or many other everyday objects, we are not going to control availability of weapons.

How do we predict a violent threat in advance ?.
