Warm weather. Vases of flowers all around my home. My cats and dog. My lovely husband. My family. A good book. Good drama. Seeing my line of washing blowing in the breeze. Friends. My hairdresser. Not in order of preference lol.

Finally having a reasonably safe roof over my head after living with the threat of no fault eviction for around 15-20 years! A sunny day, my lovely family, my recently adopted cat, waking in the morning with the thought’ yup I’m still here’! A couple or so good books to read, my music!
No real order just thankful for all!

All our dogs
My lovely hairdresser
My fabulous friends
Hot bread and lurpak butter
Sunshine
Good books
Exciting films
Beach in the moonlight

The birds singing
All babies

Oh and music! How could I forget music!
Singing in my choir

Turning the key in my front door and entering my home, the first one I have owned by myself.
Planting seeds and nurturing them into beautiful blooms.
Having both my grownup children under my roof together.
Sitting down at 4.30 to a huge pot of tea and an exquisite cake served with a proper cake fork.

Lots of things, but travel and hillwalking feature heavily. I haven’t been able to walk without crutches for almost a year now and haven’t climbed a hill since 2022, but, with my shiny new hip, hoping to do both soon(ish).

Thank you for such a lovely uplifting post Heavenleigh.
For myself it's the simple things in life that make me feel happy and content. I'm a person who has no wish for luxurious holidays or fancy cars etc
A gentle walk
Being outdoors in good weather
My family
My dog
A peaceful life
Lunch or coffee with friends and family
TV/a good film
Reading
Sweetie's (in limited amounts of course)

My wonderful DH and our amazing family.
Long warm summer evenings (I wish!)
My gorgeous dog.
Music, music and more music 🎵
The beach.
So much more.

All the above mentioned - family, pets, grandchildren. But arriving in Greece for a holiday when you can smell all the herbs warmed by the sun and know you are home - bliss

My husband
My family, 3 children, 2 dils, 10 grandchildren
My dogs
My books,

Being able to appreciate how lucky I am.

A purring cat makes me happy, as does the blackbird singing outside my window. These two don’t go together very well.

Mollygo Sat 13-Jul-24 11:56:07

DH
Family-though they also head my stress list!
Books
Flowers
Our dog and the compulsory exercise régime she has instigated for us!
Aquafit and the chat afterwards
Fleecy bedding.
Berries with or without cream
Friends, though it’s hard when you lose them.

I know it is family first, but bear in mind when there are toxic members-we all usually have one, it can bring also the greatest pain sadly.

holidays

My husband and seeing my boys and their families. A cosy evening in watching tv. A good book and a garden mowed and weeded. Count my blessings everyday.

Granmarderby10 Sat 13-Jul-24 12:22:59

My home, my family having enough food in my cupboards, my DH of course. But my garden, how I love my garden to be able to escape outside with my early morning cuppa. To feel soil on my hands and always being amazed how that teeny tiny seed becomes such a thing of beauty. I currently have sweet peas all over my home with their heady scent.
