Going to the pictures or flicks. We still say going to the pictures.
Some of the words mentioned above I used a lot - mithered, fab for instance.

I used bloody a lot too!

I still use quote a few of these - but mainly when writing I think (WhatsApp to family in particular)

Used discombobulated yesterday..

Last week used floozie. I suppose I used it tongue in cheek though. I would be horrified with myself if thought of my daughter and friend as "floozies"!😱

My boy has no idea what I'm talking about, if I use some of these words.

Nor my grandkids MissA and when I told them I d get my ironing board out the glory hole they nearly fell off their seats
I ll leave you to look up what a glory hole is nowadays !!!

I'm our house growing up we had a cubby hole.

I know both the old and the new meaning of glory hole.
We had a glory hole in our house, too.

Stout*, oh yes, my granny used to say that. Ditto ‘vexed’ - you never hear that any more.

Whenever I hear two times on the TV I crossly say 'it's Twice', but I think that word has died out
