Good Morning Everyone,
A dry but grey looking sky this morning in brackley .
Yesterdays ECG went OK , got there early and got seen early .
Anyway , today that usual bus journey hoping for a trouble free run , as motorway accidents on M40 can cause bus delays .
Continue to watch the track cycling and GB increase there medal haul.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning. Bristol has been promised rain today: it is a lovely temperature.
Bon voyage 🛫, urms and himself. Enjoy your well deserved break.
Yesterday was spent making piccalilli; it needs a minimum of 6 weeks, longer if possible, to mature and be tolerable.
I also spent nearly an hour at the telephone with my computer man, trying to sort out problems with my Outlook address. He told me I needed a new pc (grrr) as this one is over 10 years old. Talk about planned obsolescence.
Today, residents coffee morning. I shall probably manage to get a bit of sewing in too.
Hav3 a gentle day, enjoy the weather. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and grandMattie- a little grey here in north Wales but I’m hoping for better weather later…some 🌞 will be welcome for our foray to a new (to us) cocktail 🍹 bar in Llandudno with outdoor seating, then our favourite Indian restaurant and a bus home 😋

That piccalilli sounds lovely GM, not something Ive tried making but I do remember my mam giving it a go once before deciding it was too much of a ffaff! She wasn’t blessed with a lot of patience…🤔

Hope the Urms have a well deserved ‘oliday in their other happy place and anyone else on their travels, near or far - Bon voyage 🥂

Will pop along later and read about your bizzinesses and blessings…🤞

It’s very easy to make,*pant*. I use a recipe from Waitrose I
found online. The hardest thing is the veg preparation!
I just use a bit less sugar - it says 200g,I use 150.

Good morning from Malta where it’s very hot!

Stayed in yesterday but got a lot of cleaning done, changed bed etc. It all takes longer in the heat as I have to do it in stages.

Unfortunately I walked into some furniture and I think I have broken my toe. It’s very painful and quite black this morning.

I have a hair appointment early and later another appointment to purchase a pre paid cremation plan. I’ve had a lot of negative reactions from friends and family about it, but it seems practical to me and will save anyone from having to organise anything.

Possibly meeting a friend later if we are both free. They have just sold their house here which is sad as I don’t expect they will be visiting Malta as frequently.

Wishing the Urms’s a trouble free journey and a lovely relaxing break in their happy place.

Have a good day all.☀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. DD and the menfolk are winging their way back from Canada where they have had a fabulous holiday. I will never be so pleased to see them! Neither will their guinea pig.
I got the front lawn cut yesterday and that was about all I had the energy for.
Writers group at the library this afternoon. I’ll do a bit of shopping while I’m at the mall.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from s somerset, lovely weather today, sunny but cooler

Yesterday was so satisfying, I got the urge at lunchtime, to try and fix my droopy patio blind. It is a perfect fit cellular blind with hidden strings within a frame and the string was broken. I did it, shaking hands to start because I was nervous. It took me 4 hours but I now have a perfectly working blind. It cost me £2.70 to fix

I finished nightie number two and used my tagine to slow cook a casserole for 6 ready meals, I used goat meat for the first ever time, it was so lean and worked out at only 50g per meal, what with all the veg and beans

Today I will be cutting out the first pair of warm sunday trackies, just planning ahead to staying warm next winter. I will do a walk too and pick more runner beans to blanche for the freezer. I am amazed at how many beans I am getting from 7 dwarf plants. They are lovely and tender too

Have a good day

Good morning from a fine start in Whiddon Down where we’re spending a few days in my holiday static.

Happy landings to Mr and Mrs. Urmstongran!
Your toe sounds painful, Bellasnana; could you strap it to its neighbour? I think a prepaid plan is a good idea and thoughtful.

We might go to Tavistock later although my knee is being grumpier than usual due to an unfamiliar mattress, softer than the one at home. The joys…!

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a bright South Downs. I must get up immediately after this as we are off to Portsmouth today to the historic dockyard. We took the grandchildren a few years ago and I always intended to go back and have a closer look at the Mary Rose exhibition.

Enjoy your day

Peace and harmony to all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 07-Aug-24 07:07:23

Morning all from a seemingly sunny West Oxfordshire.

Son and his partner are popping up to London shortly to see how their new bathroom is getting on. I have a WI coffee morning while OH keeps an eye on granddaughter. We will take her out for lunch later - to an Italian restaurant as she loves pasta! Our gardener is coming this afternoon. I have a Pavlova to make for tomorrow. Finally, I have a WI committee meeting at 6 pm. It’s all go, as they say,

Have a good day.

Good morning all from a bright but cloudy North Leicestershire.

DH is 79 today. Crikey!

brook2704 Wed 07-Aug-24 07:14:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s dry but it looks quite windy outside
We’ve got DGD here this morning, we’re dropping her off at her holiday club at lunchtime for the afternoon. I’ll then do a bit of shopping and then home for a rest and tidy up
Well done with fixing the blind karma you’ve got lots of patience and seem to be able to do lots of things, nothing but admiration for you
Your sounds painful bellas hope it’s not too sore
Happy holidays to Urms and everyone else away, enjoy! 😎
The Plymouth dockyard was one of DHs favourite days out WWM we went a few years ago and he still talks about it today!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

brook2704 Wed 07-Aug-24 07:15:22

Happy Birthday to you DH Kitty! 🎉🥂

RosesandLilac Wed 07-Aug-24 07:18:04

Good morning from sunny south Glos, clear blue skies here.
Off to the dentist first thing for a filling in a front tooth 😖, dreading the injections although my dentist is very good.
Then back for some pottering in the garden, there’s always something to do and I love being outside.
I might sit in the unfinished summerhouse and do some needlework later.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Redcar Wed 07-Aug-24 07:20:07

Good morning everyone from a dry and sunny (so far) mid essex. I came home yesterday after a week’s dog minding at DD1’s. It went well although the dog clearly missed the family so we had lots of cuddles.
A day of catching up here, trying to tidy the garden and get washing done etc, picked a few tomatoes and dwarf beans when I got home.
Will go for a walk and catch up with any news from my dog walking friends.
I hope urms has a lovely break in her happy place, safe travels to her and her DH and to anyone else on the move.
bella your toe sounds painful, try to rest if you can.
Have a good day everyone.

baubles Wed 07-Aug-24 07:20:45

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

DH’s brother and his wife visited yesterday to see how we’re getting on then in the evening friends who live nearby popped over for an hour. They had driven DH to hospital to visit me a couple of times, people are so kind.

I’m going to try to get out for a short walk today, daft dug is staying with DD and I’m missing her and our regular walks.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Mizuna Wed 07-Aug-24 07:24:18

Good morning from my overcast patio on Cornwall, where a very small wasp is drinking from a saucer of water on the table next to me. Ah, now its friend is joining in so I shall refrain from eating my breakfast brioche bun until they move on. My son's coming over to help recover the sitting out space in the wood above, which has become very overgrown due to my knee op. I hate having help but he's fun so I know I'll enjoy our time together. Another month and I'll be back to tackling the bigger outdoor tasks again.

Grandmabatty Wed 07-Aug-24 07:31:13

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and cloudy. Baubles I'm glad you continue to improve. Kitty happy birthday to your dh. bellasnana ouch! I hope it isn't broken.
Yesterday was a trying day with the boys, dgs1 in particular, who was very argumentative and cheeky at times. We made friends after a while. Dgs2 was not happy that his big brother was in trouble and gave me a row 😂. They are very protective of each other. I was shattered by evening and had a very early night.
Today is a quiet day. I'll potter about. I intend to clear disused toys from the boys' room as it is seriously cluttered, but I'll do it slowly. Apart from that, nothing is planned. Have a good day all.

grandMattie Wed 07-Aug-24 07:54:17

Has anyone seen/heard from AutieFlo? She has been very quiet.

Urmstongran Wed 07-Aug-24 07:56:52

Good morning everyone from a mild but not sunny south Manchester. Alexa tells currently it’s 15°C with showers later and a high of 19°C.

Never mind we are off to Málaga today for 3 weeks, taxi booked for 10am. Temperatures there are in the mid to high 30’s!

WiFi at our place can be a bit iffy but I’m sure somehow I’ll be able to bore you with tales of our holiday. 😁

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 07-Aug-24 07:57:22

Good morning. Grey and damp here in Co Durham.
Happy holiday to urms and himself. Safe journey. Ouch Bellasnana. Karma I’m in awe at your skills.
Early Sainsbury’s delivery so I’ll come back to read your posts later. Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Liberty Wed 07-Aug-24 07:58:17

Good morning from sunny Suffolk with a brilliant blue sky. We had a light rain shower early yesterday evening which meant I could avoid watering the pots.

I have my all day online meeting today. I use the dining room for my laptop which is north facing so should be cool and not bothered by sunlight on the screen.

Your mention of goat meat Karmalady reminded me of the goats we kept when our children were small. We usually had 2 mainly for the milk for DS who suffered from infantile eczema. Any billy kids were gently reared until they were about 4 months old and then went to the local very small abbatoir( they only took a small handful of animals each day.

We belonged to the local goat keeping society which was a very friendly sociable group with regular get togethers. Everyone said how healthy goat meat was because it was so lean and fat free. It tasted like lamb or mutton from older animals.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Grammaretto Wed 07-Aug-24 08:01:22

Good morning all from the Isle of Skye.
Very different from yesterday. Dreich and cold with lots of puddles.
I wanted to climb a local hill today for the view as we have a free afternoon. 😒

There was a fab concert last night and I'm meeting a friend who lives in Skye this evening.

Sorry about your toe Bellasnanna and your poor knee Ash

Have a lovely time in Spain Urms
Hoping everyone has a good day.

glammagran Wed 07-Aug-24 08:01:23

Good morning all.

DGS2 was on really good form yesterday. We took him blackberry picking and he had a great time in the very good playground in a nearby town. DGD3’s turn today.

Have a terrific holiday with your family Ums I’m so happy for you.

Enjoy what looks to be a reasonably sunny day.
