Good morning from a grey Bristol. The light rain we had yesterday has refreshed the vegetation, and cleaned the air.
I did very little yesterday as I as still feeling unwell and wobbly. It improved considerably by evening, although I’ll still be careful today..
Just some baking to do today. Perhaps I’ll do some sewing, and “help”my pc man choose me a new one. The “old” one is completely outdated being some 10 years old. Ouch for my purse.

GM have you seen the information from avon somerset police about scams? They have had a lot of success lately and ask for people to get in touch with action fraud if they have been scammed. The last success involved a big gang who used false contact, saying from banks etc

Yesterday was perfect for hard work in the garden. I spent 5 solid hours on my hands and knees, with some mechanical help, topping hundreds of sedum ground cover plants. I was tired afterwards but glad it was done.

Today I am taking it easy, some sewing, watching born and bred, reading, pottering and up and down stairs if I don`t go on a walk

Good morning from what appears to be a windy day here on the east coast of Fife. The temperature is meant to reach 65 degrees today,
Today I’ll be staying at home as I had such a busy day yesterday .
I had my hairdresser visit followed by 2 nurses who came to give me an injection to prevent chest infections.

All those over 75 were getting this injection my twin sister got hers too.

I then went to my cousins funeral with my lovely new carer and met so many family members I hadn’t seen in years.

I had the most delicious dinner last night, fried cod in ruskelin, new potatoes and cauliflower. I was exhausted by bedtime however I had a great sleep for a change.

Good morning from Cornwall where there's cloud and some sun today. Good weather for tackling my overgrown 'secret' sitting area in the wood above my patio, where nature has taken over. My son will do all the hard work while I look on with envy. 😄

A rainy day of bus jaunts yesterday, meeting strangers and having small insights into lives very unlike mine. Topped it off with carrying a backpack of shopping from M&S, completely forgetting it would make my knee sore. Slapped own wrists. 😂

Good morning everyone from Málaga. The sun’s just up. We are meeting friends who live out here for a tapas lunch and then at tea time the family arrive. The Boy Wonder and L’il Miss will jump into their swimwear as soon as they arrive. We will keep an eye on them while their mum and dad unpack. Six of us for dinner tonight. Nice. We’ve booked a table in the corner bar downstairs for 8:30pm.

I'm trying to be good brook, honestly!

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and very windy Northampton, but it is expected to brighten up and stay dry. Have just put a load of washing in the machine so should be enough time to hang it out before I go to my.dance classes later this morning.

A day of pottering yesterday but mainly trying to work out why my Shark vacuum keeps cutting out when I use the attachments. Searched everywhere for the appliance booklet (including emptying and tidying a kitchen drawer!) and then remembered I keep it in the bag with the tools!
Have removed the filters and washed them, checked for blockages, so fingers crossed... Have to wait for the filters to dry.
Then cleaned both bathrooms and mopped the floors.

After dance classes will pop to the hairdresser to make an appointment for a couple of weeks time when I have a dinner out with friends booked. Will mention my fringe which does not look right after my visit to her last week.

Home-made chicken curry from the freezer for dinner tonight. Just some rice to cook to go with it.

Good morning everyone from south Glos where the sunshine is breaking through high cloud. Yesterday’s rain was very welcome!
Today I will take my footstool, fabric and bits needed for recovering it to a lady who’s also doing my nursing chair. She lives about 3 miles from here as the crow flies but 9 miles by road 🙄. I’m looking forward to seeing the end result.
I stubbed one of my toes yesterday, it’s black and blue and very painful; I suspect it’s broken (it’s not the first time I’ve broken a toe….). That will make walking painful for a while ☹️
Yesterday DH dropped the dog and I off and we walked back through the woods and fields; I’m not sure I should do that a gain.
It means doing steep slopes and I was absolutely puffed out 🤷🏼‍♀️ as well as the uneven ground making me worried about tripping. I will stick to level walks.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14°, feeling cool and breezy. There's rain in the air. Mizuna don't overdo things.
Yesterday I made more lime curd and scones. The lime curd is slightly runnier than I would like, but tastes fine.
Today I'll probably get a birthday card for mum who is 90 next week. I've no idea what gift to get her-her life is so constricted. I have a washing to do and some nail to sort. Brook I expect I'll be in my garden too! Have a good day all.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Son’s partner has gone up to London for a couple of days. I’m sure son and our granddaughter will find plenty to occupy themselves with. I have laundry to sort out and ironing to do. I still have the notes to type up from Wednesday’s WI meeting.

Dave’s bees are producing even more honey so he needs to make some frames for the bee hives. He doesn’t want to take off the honey quite yet. We have loads.

Good morning from the river bank in Goring. We've been here for a couple of days, will be travelling on to Wallingford today, the furthest we will travel up the Thames.
Yesterday we had a lot of rain so sat reading for a few hours then a visit to a local pub in the evening.
Yesterday was DD2's birthday, today DGD1 is 16. A lovely girl waiting for her GCSE results and starting college next month.
According to DH we will probably get home around the 24th August, times and tides dependant.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a bright South Yorkshire. Enjoyed a long walk in the woods yesterday. It was a bigger group than usual but they are a nice crowd. I came home to an afternoon of cleaning. Where does all the dust come from? Laundry, food shopping and a bit of gardening today I think.

Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is trying to shine, after the rain yesterday it will be very welcome.
We are off to the zoo today with DS and the boys, we usually go once during the summer holidays. I'm hoping to go on the chairlift this time Dgs2 is still to young and not tall enough so one of us has to go by train to the top with him. We start at the top with the castle and work our way down ending at the fair.

Good morning from mid essex, it’s quite bright here with light grey clouds. Possibly had a shower in the night to add to the very light shower we had yesterday. I spent some time in the garden yesterday, clearing away some of the dead hollyhock flowers and leaves. Had to move the tomato plants to a more sheltered spot as the wind kept blowing them over. (They’re in pots and are top heavy).
Hairdresser this afternoon and need to collect prescription from the pharmacy. Nothing else planned though.

Good morning from a cloudy steamy South Downs. Forecast a very hot weekend.

Deadheading today snd feeding the dahlias. I had a colour planting scheme and in one bed I had planned a dahlia -Ambition planted with salvia Wendy’s wishes and cerise pink aster - I forget the name. All was looking good until the dahlia flowered 😮 totally tangerine! Ambition has popped up in entirely the wrong place. The labels must have got swapped somehow. Oh well another year😄😄. Interesting clash of colour though.

By the end of this month I have usually begun to cut back etc - the start of the big autumn clear-up to get ahead of the rain. It seems to have come too early this year, I really could do with another month of summer.

My legs were stiff yesterday - all the clambering about in HMS Victory, and other historical boats.

Mick, can the complex manager not help with the shared ariel problem? Others may be having the same issues. If you think someone is tampering with the communal ariel, you should report it.

GM, be gentle with yourself. I hope the PC man can help. Mine is over ten years old, but I change individual parts as they break, so it is like having a new one and much cheaper.
I have just treated myself to a huge monitor, as I was struggling with small print.

BonnyB, I had visions of the nurses standing on each side of you, injecting simultaneously each arm like they do with babies. 😁

I had a reasonably quiet day yesterday. To my great relief, Dollie asked if she we could just stay in and chill, because she was exhausted and being eight years old is hard work with all her holiday activities.
She was very tearful and apprehensive about going back to school next week, afraid of her new teacher, whom I know and is a good teacher. 😪 We had a long chat and I advised her that teachers get butterflies too.

DH suggested that I go and pick up my prescriptions and Dollie could stay with him.
I had totally forgotten about the road closures. I have to go through Paisley to reach the surgery and the roads were totally gridlocked with diverted buses. A real test of my driving skills, I can tell you, not helped y the fact that a lorry previously jumped a red light and ran into me at that particular spot!

On the way back home, to park in Asda (where everyone parks to access the Main Street) to go to the pharmacy, I noticed a sign: This road will be closed from 19th August for two weeks! just in time for the two schools beside it returning.🤬
The road adjacent to it has been closed this week for resurfacing, making me wonder where on earth the funds are coming from to pay for it all .

The whole afternoon was spent trying to recover my three email accounts, including my essential Diocesan one. Blooming Virgin Media again.
The Internet kept going down and eventually the accounts disappeared. When I got them back, they only went up to a couple of years ago.
You are aware that I love a challenge and between using umpteen codes, my PC, my tablet and my phone, I am now cooking on gas again!

A quick trip to get essentials and then hopefully receive a call from the surgery pharmacy about trying to sync my nineteen repeat medications. My GP has tried and failed several times, but a kindly receptionist commented that having to come all the way to the surgery every week, especially when I am unwell is, is not acceptable and perhaps the surgery pharmacist could help.
The difficulty is that my pharmacy is too far away to collect them for me, but the pharmacy next to the surgery, where I used to go is absolutely useless.
The local independent pharmacy I now use is amazing.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we have yet more rain.

It’s difficult not to feel depressed about this miserable summer, I had to turn on lamps at 6pm yesterday.

DH is having his knee dressing changed at the health centre this morning. His leg is still quite swollen and of course it’s painful but I’m impressed by how well he’s managing.

I won’t be doing much today, the ironing pile is growing so I may tackle that.

Thanks, karma. The scam was reported to the police even before the bank fraud department, so they know. And I recently received a mail from action fraud so I assume I’m on their radar.

Good morning from Malta where it is going to feel like 40°C today.

Roses you have my deepest sympathy regarding your poor toe. We must have a lot of nerve endings in our toes because the pain is excruciating when we hit them. Mine is a bit better but looks horrible! It takes about six weeks to heal if it’s broken.

Yesterday DD3 came over to help me clear the spare room. It used to be her room and was still full of her things which have been sitting there for seven years since she moved out! It took an awfully long time as she found letters, photos, cards etc which all had to be looked at before being kept, binned or recycled. It’s still not finished!

Today Twin 1 has speech therapy so I will sit with his brother who will be most put out that ‘Bubba’ (brother) has gone out with Mama and left him behind. I hope I can keep him happy. He has very strong feelings about most things unlike his brother who takes life as it comes.

Good morning all from N Bucks where it seems to have rained most of the night. A hot weekend is forecast though, so only a temporary respite.
I had a lovely day in Moseley with D1 and the grandchildren. We walked up to a little and very genuine Italian restaurant in the village for lunch, then home for a slice of the Cherry Clafoutis I had made for them. The boys enjoyed trying to teach me darts in the refurbed former coach house -the boys’ summer holiday project- , but I was rubbish. ( I am tempted to get a dartboard and practise secretly in my garage and surprise them at Christmas!)
It was so nice just to “hang out” as the kids say and apparently GS2 (12) had said to his mummy after I had gone that they should move to Granny’s village! Bless him!
Driving both ways (75 miles) was not a problem and for the first time since February my knees/hips didn’t play up. But I am quite tired today.
Gardener due today and there is a lot of tidying to do . Rosie and I might do some Olympics watching.

The hardyeejits were driven of the course by windc and torrential rain.

Good morning from a breezy Oxfordshire. DD and I are taking my DGDs to a splash park at Wallingford this morning, although the weather doesn’t look very promising.
