Good morning from London.
A visit to our Estate Agent beckons this morning.
Our house is sold but we're now in that period of waiting to exchange on it, which has been so incredibly stressful as our buyer went AWOL until very recently and even now only sends sporadic emails to our agent - they think he is abroad.
He himself has requested a completion date at the end of this month but no sign of any exchange date, due to his lack of communication.

Very frustrating, but fingers crossed for good news soon as I type this surrounded by packing boxes.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is pleasantly cool but forecast to hot up, so I shall enjoy this while I can.
Everybody around me seems to be away and I feel I am going to be left the last one to turn out the lights.
Were I of a mind to have an anti- social rave, there would be no one around to notice. (Watch this space 💃 🕺 🎶 🎸)
One excitement has been the appearance of the latest Banksy in Walthamstow, above D3’s local fish & chip shop - literally round the corner from them.
They can just see it out of a back bedroom window through the trees! There has been a series across London this last week and they make me smile!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from a bright, but very breezy Glasgow, where it is 15°C.

Mizuna, I love the sound of your garden! Be careful! We added another foot to our garden last week, when DH cut back the trees and bushes!

Yesterday, y plans for a quick visit to Silverburn to return a top to M&S did not go quite to plan.
The main road ( yet another one!!!) was being closed off just as I came through a major junction. I knew exactly where the diversion would lead me and I began to feel very anxious. It meant going through a four lane roundabout, which I have spent my whole, driving life avoiding.
However, I am on a mission at the moment to restore the confidence I lost after not been able to drive during my two years of shielding. I am relying on DH too much and need to address it in case anything happens to him. 😱

I got to M&S and realised that the receipt I had brought to exchange the jumper was not for a jumper, but for a loaf and hot cross buns. 😭 Heaven knows where I have put it.
However, I was sure that in this day of hi tech, there should be a way of retrieving proof of purchase. I was relieved that M&S was really quiet, so I wouldn't be causing any queues to form.
A very helpful assistant asked me to open up my Sparks App and she would retrieve the info. At this point, I looked behind me and a huge queue had formed. The next thing, a woman came up as the assistant and I were trying to get into my phone, she nudged me out of the way and complained that she was in a hurry and demanded that she be served. I was shocked at her rudeness.
The assistant informed her that she had called for assistance, but the customer wanted served now!! How can people be so rude?
Eventually, the assistant got into the phone and it died! Despite, thinking it had charged all night, it hadn't. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I still haven't had my refund. I shall have to return with a fully charged phone.

This mishap did not stop me indulging myself in the sale. I had spotted a pair of cerise ballet pumps in M&S in Argyll Street, but they had every size, but mine. An assistant spotted me wandering aimlessly around the shoe department and asked if she could help. Back she came with the only pair they had in my size, a result.
I was delighted, despite the fact that I did not need yet another pair of shoes!

Unfortunately, the bleeding feet from my adventures in Glasgow are not healing, despite umpteen dressings, so my wanderings were curtailed. I was struggling to walk, they are so painful and swollen, due to my heart problems.

I got back to the car, plugged a USB lead into my phone (always a techie) and phoned DH, who was was frantic because I hadn't checked in. I usually put on the tracker, when I am out, that way he doesn't worry that I have taken ill. The only downside is that despite my denials, he can see every shop I have been in. 😂
It was then that I saw that I had just enough petrol to get home! This is so unlike me. I have become a silly and forgetful old woman! I am saddened at how this once independent woman has recently become quite vulnerable.

However, my day did get better. As I was resting dozing, I received a phone call from the surgery pharmacist, agreeing that my ridiculous number of medications are very difficult to manage and that they were going to try and sync as many as possible. That should save the numerous and stressful journeys to the far side of Paisley.

I intend to potter about today. I have some hems to take up, it is a curse being vertically challenged. DD also needs jeans altered, Could the hem be finished off with yellow thread, just like Levis!
Then of course, I need to open up church for the Vigil Mass.

Ash, I hope all is well with you.

Have a good day folks.

Good morning from a dry NE where it is forecast to be 21 degrees today.
DIL collected me yesterday and we went to see GD and her friends singing and dancing in a concert.
DIL and I came home and had tea while the girls went off for a swim and a restaurant meal.
Today DS and GD2 will visit, looking forward to hearing all about her busy week. Next week she is off to Loughborough on an engineering course and the following week flying to Spain with her friend's family for a holiday.
DD and SIL are off to Provence on holiday, they will celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary while they are away.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning all and as Liberty says we’re In for more very warm weather here in East Anglia. Monday 30 +. 🥵. How do you manage to cope with 40? Bellasnanna. 🤯.

Lovely pic Mizuna. Always lovely to be out in nature whatever the weather.

RosesandLilac that’s a worry for you re DD. I well understand how you’re feeling and the sleepless nights. I hope you hear from her soon. 🙏.

We had a lovely lunchtime drink with our pals yesterday. The couple whose Golden anniversary it had been brought their wedding album, and there we were, all there. Me, holding ds1 who was 8 months old. Such lovely photos . We love the fact that we all meet up so regularly after all those years. Special memories . ❤️.

Not sure what’s on today. I’m going to try to book a slot at Clay Cottage for Dd, little gd and me. Pottery to make and paint.
They might be fully booked. I should have thought about it earlier. 🤯.

Dh and ds1 will go to a footie match.

Hope alls well Ash , we’ll miss you.
Enjoy the day everyone 🌸

Good morning everyone from Severnside where it is overcast.

First thing yesterday I went and had my haircut. On my return home I had a FaceTime with Beechnutella who was on a dog walk. She showed me the views to where I live. A few spare hours and then I was FaceTiming again this time with my brother and sister in law.

I plan to weed this morning and then do my admin.
Lovely photos this morning. It must be lovely to mooch round your wood Mizuna.

Best wishes to all 💐

Lots of activity reported already so looks like a busy day for most people. Love Mizuna’s triumphant picture and sympathise with Marydoll’s frustrating day; I too feel that I am not the efficient person I once was. Will miss Ash’s contribution and hope all is well with her. Have a positive Saturday everyone.

At this time of year, some of the central reservation on the A2 is full of various coloured self seeded hollyhocks. It is glorious.

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm, sunny Carlisle.
It's an improvement on yesterday when it was very windy.
That didn't stop me from getting out and tidying my fruit and veg border. The pea plants have gone and I cleared out most of my marigolds. They are still flowering somewhat but they seed so prolifically that they can be an increasing nuisance, albeit a pretty one, from season to season. Once sown, you never need another packet of them.
In the afternoon I developed a migraine, I haven't had one for ages, I don't these days, but I needed paracetamol and to lay off screens.
Today, I've already been out to the local store for the paper, I don't need anything else this weekend. I ogled a pack of scones and succeeded in not buying any, I need to lose a few pounds and I could easily make my own anyway.

It can be worrying when you have silly forgetful spells Marydoll but I tell myself that it can happen to anyone and I am unlikely, even at my age, to be on the slippery slope to something worse...

Do come back soon Ashcombe, will miss you, have a good break.
And have a pleasant weekend everyone.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, sunny just now. I am heading off shortly to catch a train (two actually) to Edinburgh to meet a friend and, hopefully, have a wander through the street fun at the Festival. Weather forecast looks okay but I’ll be prepared!

Nice photo Mizuna, you look very happy!

I’m going to use the journeys today to read a book DGD has been given to read during the holidays to be discussed in her English class when she starts high school next week. She has ploughed through it wee pet and realised halfway through that she actually ‘quite liked it’ but wants to chat about it before term starts next Wednesday. Brain is clunking into gear!

I’ll be thinking about you Ash, take care.

Wishing everyone a good weekend and us Scots some sunshine! Grandmabatty, Galloway’s mince is part of our family language!

Good morning Mick and all from a mixed up weather wise Berkshire.
Fab day yesterday when I went to the chapel in Windsor Castle with my DD and pain our respects to our late Queen and visited the Moat Garden, new to us and not always open, so very pretty.

My sister came over from London in the evening and we had an excellent Italian meal (and she’s hard to please, having lived in Italy. In the evening contemporary ballet at the local theatre which was excellent but rather a short programme. It’s a shame that touring companies no longer use an orchestra and have taped music. The funding for the arts in this country is not good enough.

My DD takes me to Euston soon and back to the north after a truly lovely time.
What a bother with tv Mick, I hope the toes are improving, nice pic in the undergrowth Mizuna and thoughts to all 💕
